13 The Beginner Adventurer's Village

Despite being a village close to the Forest of Blood, Woodion Village was much larger and more populous than Lucas and Ket had imagined. Honestly, Lucas expected a poor village with small wooden houses inhabited by elderly people and only a few young people.

However, the view of the village was surprisingly beautiful and well cared for, with several people walking along the paved streets through a terrain inlaid with special stones. The houses were built next to each other, but they were all organized in such a way as not to allow passers-by to get lost easily when passing through that place.

Lucas watched intrigued the huge flow of inhabitants and travelers that passed by his side, there were people who clearly did not belong to the place and Lucas considered the possibility that they were people brought from the Earth, just like him.

There were people with different types of eyes, skin colors and hair colors, they passed by waving at Ket who was smiling brightly like a true saint, and looking at Lucas with eyes full of curiosity. Several people were screaming from all sides of the place, causing a huge hullabaloo, but not caring about it.

''We are going to the Ruins of Mordred, those who are level 48 or higher can come with us! Treasures and drops will be divided according to the person's effective participation in the expedition.''

''Looking for those willing to hunt near the Forest of Blood. A frontline fighter and a level 49 healer are waiting for people level 40 or above ~''

''Recruiting people to help attack the 2nd floor of Guterman's dungeon! A level 66 swordsman, a level 57 archer, and many other individuals of Dimensional I and II rank will join the expedition! Your class doesn't matter, but your level should be around 50!''

Lucas was looking around and realized that the place he and Ket were in was a large village square. He couldn't help but be impressed by the splendid architecture that made up the entire village, as he eagerly surveyed all sides of the place like an impressed child.

''So this is the village of Woodion. It's amazing how beautiful the place is, and there's the huge amount of people too.''

Ket looked at Lucas and nodded in agreement, after all she had been trapped for many years in that stuffy and destroyed Temple. Seeing a developed and beautiful civilization like this one made her excited, and the woman continued to smile and wave at the people who passed by her and Lucas without stopping.

From what Lucas had personally witnessed and understood from the conversations and speeches of those around him, the monsters and dungeons near Woodion Village were at least level 50 or above. Also, they were all fierce and dangerous monsters, and that's why people chose to form groups and partys to hunt.

The level of the inhabitants and adventurers here was at least around mid-level 56, and they were always looking for partys to hunt together. It was a clearly dangerous place, where people below level 40 could not leave the village without being attacked or killed.

Lucas had some memories of Soulland back when he was still playing the game. In the past, Lucas wandered here with his guild: 'Silver Rose Knights Guild', as they searched the Deep Cavern Of The Abyss. Back then, his level and stats were so high he couldn't even remember anymore, his gear was also extravagant and his personality wasn't as rotten as it is today.

'I ended up in a really interesting place.'

If Lucas took advantage of his memories, even if they were vague and the information inaccurate; Perhaps he could have some advantage ahead of all Acaris inhabitants and players, after all, only he and a few of Soulland's rank 300 players were aware of the Abyss Deep Cave and other secret dungeons.

''We need to buy clothes with the rest of the money we have. Let's save the galleon for later and use your money instead." Lucas said blatantly, not showing any guilt as he said he was going to spend Ket's money.

The woman had decided that she would no longer argue with him after the fiasco with the coachman, but her eyes were clearly fluttering and a little teary from the tears that had trickled down her face.

Surely Ket and Lucas should join one of those groups of people in the square and participate in an raid or expedition. Still, they couldn't stay in that deplorable state with tattered clothes and suspect quality equipment forever, so they decided to go shopping.

''Let's buy clothes first. You'll come with me, we'll shop together, I don't trust putting money in your hand even for a second."

Ket nodded slightly, an embarrassed expression on her face.

Some time passed, and the two changed their clothes.

Ket opted for flexible black pants, accompanied by a shirt with some embroidery on the collar and relatively simple but elegant shoes.

She drew attention wherever she went, and everyone looked at the woman, now clean and well dressed. Ket shone like the sun, and now her stat of elegance was certainly in full use, for the woman was beautiful as a jewel and her smile made everyone who saw her instantly happy.

However, unlike Ket, Lucas chose some more casual and simple clothes. He was dressed in a black leather coat, with a black button-down shirt, simple faded pants, and black shoes with white soles.

At the moment, he was carrying bags of other clothes he had bought for himself and Ket. They were walking around town looking for a blacksmith shop or a retail outlet for adventurers and travelers (even if they weren't necessarily adventurers).

It was urgent that they acquire items suitable for their levels as quickly as they could. Lucas knew they should take advantage, as the lower-level items had no built-in restrictions or conditions of use. He didn't know how long this would last and so he was in a hurry, as he took brisk steps around the town streets throughout the afternoon.

Ding. Ding.

A small golden bell attached to the store door rang as Ket opened the door, she and Lucas entered the store enthusiastically. As they happily entered the smithy, they found a middle-aged blacksmith sweating in front of a fireplace.

"Hello, sir..." Lucas looked at the counter, where a paper with a name said: Tesher Mahone.

''Hello Sir Tesher Mahone. I want to buy some items and sell a lot of things that I have in possession, which are highly sought after by blacksmiths and production classes, and that are certainly profitable for both parties." Lucas then pointed to a half-gloss dagger in the corner of the room.

''What is this item? What is it rating and attack power? Please answer me and, if possible, give me a recommendation.''

Ket looked at Lucas with admiration, as the young man showed great skill and knowledge about Acaris items, something that even she, who was thousand of years old, didn't know much about.

Lucas grinned, 'I'm a former Soulland classifier, so I'm someone who has mastered the knowledge about some blacksmithing skills and about items and equipment. So this will be pretty easy to solve, if it's up to me.'

However, the development of the situation went against his expectations.

Instead of answering, the blacksmith looked at Lucas with cold eyes.

"Cahum." He cleared his throat nonchalantly as he walked towards the counter.

''A young idiot wants to talk about these matters. I don't intend to talk about this with a person who clearly has no idea what they're talking about, so if you're not intending to buy something, then leave.''

''??????''

Lucas still had the smile on his face, not believing the old man's surly and impolite response.

It reminded him of the common attitude of Soulland's NPCS towards novice level 1 users.

Never in his life, at least not in games(and in another fucking world), had he been as embarrassed as he was at that moment. If it had been in Soulland's time, the smith would certainly have recognized him instantly, and then they would have started talking, but the smith here considered him a total idiot.

Ket gave a few muffled laughs from the boy who was motionless not knowing what to do.

Lucas wanted to go to another smithy, but according to travelers and adventurers he and Ket had consulted before, this was the only really decent smithy in the whole village.

'For a moment, I forgot who I was. And I think my bad luck forgot too, but it didn't take long for it to come back.

It couldn't be avoided. Lucas quickly changed his attitude and said with even more respect than before to the blacksmith: ''I noticed that your work is of excellent quality and I received numerous recommendations to visit your shop. So I wanted to try negotiating with you. If I sounded rude, please forgive me."

''Right. I understand, but I hope this situation doesn't happen again." The blacksmith looked at Lucas with a hint of interest in his eyes.

Lucas straightened up, then he spoke as politely as possible, like a true refined and noble person.

''My name is Lucas, it's a pleasure to meet you, sir. I would like to buy some items, for myself and my companion Ket.''

The blacksmith looked into the boy's eyes, and then looked back at Ket who had been silent for some time.

''Sure, why not? But do you want normal ranked items? Because, given your appearance, I don't think you can afford very expensive items.'' The old man scoffed at Lucas's simple attire.

The young man controlled himself from the inside, so as not to jump off the counter and punch the old man so hard in the face it would make him faint. He then opened the inventory and took out a strange looking coin from there, showing it to the blacksmith.

The middle-aged man shut up instantly and stared open-mouthed at the delicate and beautiful appearance of a galleon, one of the most expensive coins in the world since the beggining of civilization.

''H-hm, sir, forgive me for my impolite comments. I didn't mean to offend you, they were just jokes, you see. Hope we can do business from now on. "

''So come on, old man. Show me what you have to offer."

Lucas smiled smugly, while the old man immediately changed his attitude and spoke in a different tone.

"So let's get down to business."

—----------------------------------

It was already night and the people of the village were going to their homes, or if they were adventurers or travelers, to the inns where they were staying.

Lucas and Ket were carrying several bags, full of clothes and equipment they had just bought. Of the total finances they had, there were around 32 gold and 60 silver coins left, which would certainly be enough to stay overnight at some hostelry, and make a lot of other things if they wanted to.

They were walking towards the 'Hot Breeze' Inn for travelers and adventurers. Many people recommended the place when they asked for a recommendation, and they were both excited by the idea of sleeping in a comfortable bed rather than on a hard, sticky floor like before.

Titititin ~

The door made a strange noise as it opened, and two very pretty redheads looked in Ket and Lucas' direction, one being a woman who looked to be in her forties and the other her daughter.

"Good night, how can we help you?" The older woman asked, as the younger girl walked out with a tray with a few beers on top, heading into another room.

''Oh, good night, we want to spend the night here. Also, we know from several recommendations that this is with no doubt a great inn.''

The woman smiled widely at Lucas's praise, as she took a small wooden sign and asked the young man to sign his name.

"How much would it cost us to spend the night here?"

''If you just want a simple service, without room service, the price is 20 silver coins per night.''

''But, if you want to buy the full service of the establishment, with room service and other things, the price is around 50 silver coins.''

Lucas nodded in agreement with the woman's lines as he took out four gold coins and handed them to the woman without hesitation.

"Do you only want a bedroom or two?" She asked, still impressed by the advance payment of four golds, as if they were worth nothing to the young man.

''Just one room is good, we won't be spending a lot of time here, so there's no problem.''

Ket observed the situation and laughed lightly, without in the room anyone noticing.

''Please follow me. I'll take you to your accommodation."

Lucas and Ket followed the woman up a lightly soft wooden staircase and into a huge room that had a very nice view of the entire village. The woman then left the room and let the two settle in the place.

Ket instantly threw herself on the bed without thinking, and fell asleep. But actually, she was secretly snooping around Lucas, watching him with a very strange interest.

However, contrary to her expectations, Lucas didn't do anything relevant and just took off his shirt to lie down.

"Tomorrow is going to be a big day." He said, tossing his shirt to the floor.

The young man said as he collapsed on the soft bed and fell asleep.
