Prologue

*BOOM* an explosion occurred violently shaking colony X one of the few remaining human colonies. There we see a boy and his parents unconscious near the immense amount of rubble. The boy slowly opens his eyes to the sight of smoke in the air jolting him awake. As he looks around he hears faint movement to both of his sides where his parents are slowly waking up as well "MOM" "DAD" the boy screams as he notices their condition. The mother is lying in her blood with a pole impaling her shoulder.

The boy's father is in an even worse situation where one of his legs is crushed under a large piece of rubble and is leaking blood from his head. The boy rushes to his father. As the boy desperately tries to free his father's legs he hears some of his father's last words "Jacob it's ok buddy" he says while coughing up blood, his internal organs were battered leaving almost no chance of survival, "help your mom bud, she can help you get out of here" says Jacob's father solemnly. Jacob looks at his father with tears streaming down his eyes subconsciously and looks at his mother who has managed to get herself up "Mom please help me, free dad! He's saying some scary things!" Jacob yells in agony as he can't bear to lose his father.

Jacob's mother slowly limps her way over to her husband and bends her ear down to hear his pained whispers as he slowly drifts to sleep. She looks over to Jacob with sorrow and grief in her eyes and tells him what he couldn't bear to hear "He's gone honey. We have to get out of here so we can live to bury him". Jacob's mind went blank and so did his eyes. He looks at his mother "Where can we go?" he says as he looks around to see nothing but destruction "There's nowhere to go to" he adds as he is slowly losing his will to live. His mother mustering up her strength grabs his hand tightly while looking into his blank eyes seemingly pleading for him to follow her.

Seeing his mother pleading with him he remembers that she was still alive, he could still save her unlike his sister who he believes died in the initial explosion, and his father who died just now. "Alright let's go," he says with a determined glint in his eyes. His mother's eyes soften seemingly reading his thoughts. As Jacob and his mother make their way away from the debris and destruction they notice more people laying lifeless on the roads, some are on streetlights hanging, some are split in two, and some are still struggling to survive with polls impaled through their bodies and multiple mangled limbs drooping and dead. A horrific and bloody scene that has burned a large scar in young Jacob's mind.

His mother noticed his scared eyes and quickly blindfolds him with a strip of cloth from her tattered clothing "Hold my hand and do not take off the blindfold under any circumstances" She states in a firm and commanding tone. As they walk further through the city Jacob can hear distant screams and oddly enough...laughter? His mother quickly picks up on the sound of gunshots and the cleaving of a blade. She grabs Jacob with all her strength and covers his mouth as she takes him into a dark alley. The mother witnesses multiple men and women walking through the streets with weapons both melee and ranged. She breaks into a cold sweat as she realizes that the explosion was caused by Entity, a cult full of psychotic terrorists who believe that humanity should collapse and feed themselves to the "Entity" better known as the parasitic hive mind that has driven humanity into colonizing the asteroid belt to hide.

The hive mind has taken most of the solar system as well as half the galaxy. It creates beasts out of the parasite's hosts "evolving" them into single-minded killing machines. A group that wishes to surrender to such a parasite is performing an attack on Jacob's colony, Colony X. "Where the hell is that damn brute and his family!" says one of the cultists "We all know that if he could be easily found he would've been captured and tortured decades ago," another cultist says. As they pass by Jacob and his mother slowly walk out of the alley.

Once the cultists are out of sight she starts running with Jacob in tow but comes to a screeching halt once she turns the corner to spot dozens if not hundreds of cultists. She is immediately spotted and recognized as "the brute's" wife. Fear could be seen in her eyes as she takes Jacob's blindfold off "RUN!" she screams at the top of her lungs as she takes a battle stance. Jacob seeing all the people with weapons and his mother planning to fight all of them bursts into tears "NO! YOU CAN'T I DON'T WANT TO BE ALONE" he yells back terrified of what could happen to his mother. His mother looks at him and is afraid that he won't run and save himself. She calls out "One, I need you to take my son and make your way to a different colony" just like that Jacob is knocked out by a figure that appeared out of nowhere and is dragged off to another colony never to see his mother again.
