2 Figures In The Dark

"How do you not know what a car is?! Even if you don't have the money to buy one yourself you should at least have seen one on the road!"

As we walked towards the crowd i heard the bald man speaking.

"I really don't know! The only things passing on the road are carriages and horses!!" Said one of the people wearing medieval clothes.

"What, carriages? Horses? Just where are you all from?!" Asked the bald man.

"We are from Alabaia, a small village in the Avien Kingdom... Wait, could it be that you people are from the Lelan Kingdom?!" Asked the villager in return.

"You mean that famous new Kingdom full of engineers that invented the Magical Airship?!" Esclamated another villager next to him.

The villager had light brown hair and azure eyes and quite the surprised face.

"Huh?! Kingdom? Magical Airship?! What hell are you talking about?! The is no such thing as magic!" Responded the bald man, being quite annoyed that the conversation was getting nowhere.

"If magic doesn't exist then how did we all get here, Mr. Baldie?" Said the black haired girl from before.

"T-That's... Wait, before that, don't call me like that ever again, got it?!!" Esclamated baldie.

Seems like he can't stand being called like that.

"Hey guys, look at this map i found!" I heard a voice from behind us as it was getting closer.

"What is this... a tower? Wait isn't the bottom of the tower just like the room we're in?!" Esclamated baldie while looking at the map.

"Wait, something is appearing on the paper!!!" Said a person behind him while looking at the map.

A text was slowly appearing in a blue fire as if it was burning, but in reverse.

"If Freedom Is What You Desire,

Climb The Tower And Pass Each And Every One Of Its Trials.

Only The Capable Shall Leave This Prison."

"What the hell? Trials? What is it talking about?" Asked baldie, confused.

I suddently remembered the text that got overwritten by the current text.

So the trials are on each floor of The Tower, and once we're at the top, we will be finally free.

"What are we standing here for?! Let's get to the top of this damned tower!!" Esclamated someone in the crowd as he dashed towards the door.

"Wait! The map said something about some kind of trials too!!" Esclamated baldie while running to stop him.

The guy opens the the door. I could see some grey stone stairs behind it.

The guy ran up the stairs and reached for the next floor's door.

"Wait, don't open it!" Shouted baldie. He tried to warn the careless guy.

The guy opened the door anyway and stepped in.

The door stayed open for 2 seconds, then it closed by itself.

Baldie quickly tried to open it with all his strenght, but the door didn't move an inch.

"AAAAH HELP, SAVE M-", as soon as the door closes we heard his voice, screaming for help...

...

He went completely silent after that.

Just what happened to him...

Did he... Die?

Everyone looked terrified, Shin and Nana were on the verge of crying.

I hugged them to relieve their fear and sadness a bit.

Seems like it worked.

"That's why i told you to not rush in like that...." mumbled baldie to himself.

I figured that we won't ever move from this room if noone did anything right now.

There are so many people here probably because the trials are going to be difficult...

I dashed forward, towards the door.

"What are you doing?! Step away from that damn door!!!" Shouted baldie while trying to stop me.

I opened the door, but i didn't enter the room and just stood in front of it.

The door stayed open for two seconds, then it closed...

Right after it closed we heard a metallic noise from inside the room.

*Kiik?*

We heard a strange sound from the side of the door, it sounded like some kind of living creature.

"What was that...?" Asked a person in the crowd, frightened.

"I'll check it." Said baldie while reaching for the door.

"Wait! You heard that guy screaming, right?!" Esclamated the same person from the crowd, trying to warn baldie to not enter the room.

"Yes, but we'll just be starving to death if we stay here. We have to find a way to get to the top of The Tower." Responded baldie as he took a farming tool from one of the villagers and opened the door.

"Wait!"

Baldie opened the door and stuck the farming tool in the door to stop it from forcefully closing while he stood back a bit.

Two seconds later, the door tried to close itself, but couldn't. We heard the metallic sound again.

As we heard the metallic noise, a huge metal spike rose from the ground.

If someone was standing there they would have definitely died.

The metal spike was partially covered in blood, but the guy that entered the room before was nowhere to be seen.

*Kek??*

We heard a noise coming from near the spike trap.

"What the hell are those..." Said baldie, shocked.

There were two small dark green figures, a bit taller than Shin and Nana, looking around the metal spike.

Are they... Goblins?!
