Chapter 08- New Highschool (Part 1)

In the morning of the following day, Reo awoke early. Being an early riser since he could remember, he liked to get up before anyone else. He had learned this habit when he was living in the village and was so close to nature. It was especially beautiful in the village when the sun was barely above the horizon and when nature was at its most beautiful.

Then, he prepared himself and left his apartment quickly to be able to reach his destination as early as possible.

He walked straight to Rena's house. But, much to his surprise, he didn't find her waiting for him outside. He knocked on the door knowing what to expect from his childhood friend.

Her mother opened the door and welcomed him with an intimate hug as usual and rubbed his face all over her chest with a happy smile.

"Aunty, is Rena still asleep?"

The woman sighed exasperatedly.

"That girl is always late, I tried to wake her up but she never listens to me. Go wake her up, little Reo. She might listen to you. Her room is on the second floor." She said before she walked to the living room.

He nodded his head and walked up the stairs. There were many rooms on the second floor but he was able to identify her room just from the small sounds of Rena snoring like a baby. He knocked on the door and said gently.

"Rena, wake up, you're gonna be late."

However, no one answered him. He shook his head and opened the door to the room and entered inside.

The inside was very simple yet also very beautiful. Rena was never a complicated person and had a more straightforward personality in a sense, so it was an appropriate reflection of her. Then, his eyes shifted to the gorgeous girl sleeping carefreely on the bed. Her hair was disheveled and her mouth was slightly open, breathing in and out rhythmically.

Even though she was a mess at the moment it somehow made her even more appealing and even gave her an air of seduction. Maybe it was her disheveled state that could raise such weird thoughts or maybe it was something else.

Either way, Reo shook his head immediately to erase any inappropriate thoughts.

'She trusts me. I can't just think of her like that.' He thought to himself with a sigh before walking to the bed and calling for her.

"Rena, wake up." He said.

She murmured slightly while clearly still in a daze.

"AH… Reo? Is this a dream?… Mnmnmnm… Reoooooooo~~... Come here~~" She said with a small smile before she grabbed his hand and pulled him closeer to her. He wasn't ready for her sudden action so he was pulled in easily.

"Woaah."

Rena then grabbed his head and hugged him tightly before going to sleep. But, even in her sleep, she kept muttering some words that made Reo cough slightly.

"Reo… No!! We can't…. Mnmnmnmnm… We are still too young for doing such things… Mnmnmnmnm… O-Ok, if you insist this much, just for a little bit, we can…"

Then, she pursed her lips and held Reo's cheeks before going in to kiss him on the lips.

'What is she even dreaming about?' He thought as he pushed her face gently and released himself from her tight grip. Finally, losing his patience, Reo slapped her on the head.

"Rena!! Wake your ass up!!"

"OUCH!!" A scream of pain echoed inside the room and even reached the living room. Lisa heard the sound and chuckled slightly. Her eyes looked mischievously at the second floor and thought.

'What are they doing up there? I think I should prepare myself for my first grandson just in case.'

Then, she took a sip from her tea with a smile.

Back inside the room, Rena jumped from her bed and scratched her head to ease the pain from the bonk. Reo looked at her angrily and said.

"You have been always a heavy sleeper." He said.

"Heheheh, did I do something to make you angry?" She replied with a goofy smile.

Reo recalled what she did before sighing and shaking his head.

"No. Anyway, prepare yourself quickly, we need to go." He said and left the room.

"I swear I thought he was blushing for a moment there. I must've done something reckless again. Rena you idiot!! Idiot!"

She punched her pillow a few times until her frustration disappeared and then hurried herself to the bathroom to prepare herself.

15 minutes later, Rena finally was ready.

She looked at Reo and said with a lovely smile.

"Do I look good?" She made a turn to show her full uniform for Reo.

"You look amazing as usual."

"Hehehe, thank you." She chuckled happily at his compliment. Rena felt her heart flutter with happiness and she couldn't contain her emotions as she ran to Reo and grabbed his hand tightly.

"Let's go. On our first day in high school."

Lena smiled at the duo. She could only see Rena this happy only when Reo is involved in any shape or form. For the past 3 years, she heard Rena crying multiple times inside her room secretly. She felt her getting shredded to pieces because of her daughter's sadness but she didn't want to deepen her sadness so she didn't mention the matter at all.

Anyway, Lisa shook her head and returned to her usual self.

'Everything is fine now. Past is past.'

"Be careful, kids."

The two left the house walking. The high school they were attending was in the neighborhood, barely 3 blocks away from Rena's house which made it a short trip on foot.

"What class would I be in, I wonder."

"My class obviously."

Reo looked at Rena confusedly.

"How are so sure of that?"

Rena's face frowned for a split second before she returned to normal as if nothing happened.

"What I meant is that I believe we're going to be in the same class, heheheh. Silly me."

Reo's eyes squinted and he eyed his childhood friend.

'She definitely did something.' He thought.

He had already grown numb to the amazing things Rena could pull off easily. Changing classes didn't seem to be that big of a challenge for her.

As he thought so, they reached the school entrance. It was quite the big school even though Reo could only see the front building. He already heard a lot about this school. It was by far the most prestigious school in the whole capital and Reo had to literally take an entrance exam back in his village. A representative came to his house and supervised him throughout the test.

It was overkill but that showed how much this place cared about her student. Each one of them has to be a genius or at least excellent in 85 percent of their subjects to be able to have a chance in the entrance exam.

Reo was already really good at academics so he didn't have time acing his test. He could recall the representative losing his composure when he saw how Reo finished the test in 30 minutes without a single mistake.

Anyway, The two approached the man standing in front of the gate. He was the guard that kept a look for any breaking of the rules made by the new students.

"Hey, you! Your necktie is way too loose, fix it up. You too, your skirt is too short, do you think this is a party?" He said with a strict tone.

Rena and Reo eyed him silently before they made their way inside without getting called. However, they couldn't even make a second step inside the first building when a loud voice called for them.
