Magic affinities? more like nIce affinities.

Although one could mistake the man as a priest, that was actually the case as he was one. Neera walked past the door frame with her eyes scanning the surroundings. The priest looked at her with a smile and opened his mouth "good morning child! Since it is your birthday where you have become 5 years old we will be testing if you have any affinities to magic." the priest smiled warmly.

Neera tilted her head confused on how they would do that, The priest saw that and stroked his beard while laughing a tad bit "Do not worry child, all you have to do is touch this crystal ball" this was the first time Neera has ever heard of such a thing, even with the past memories although there was a few times something that looks like this object came into her memories.

Neera looked at the priest with her hand stretched out to see if she was supposed to do so now, as the priest nodded his head she laid her hand on the crystal ball. Said crystal ball started lighting up with what appears to be an icy blue colour before freezing over completely, looking as if a single touch would shatter it.

"Hoho? It seems you are quite lucky, child! You have one of the rarest Affinities yet also the one of the highest of quality! Someone with an affinity for ice with this high quality affinity is quite rare!" The priest beamed with a smile as he said this, although Neera was a bit disappointed as she already knew she had this affinity. But that also begged the question of unless this is a first timers use perk, any affinity she got would be of the highest quality? Or maybe the Ice affinity is just something that is automatically of high quality?

Neera didn't know the answer to this question, although had hoped it was of the middle. The caretaker beamed most likely that she can get rid of one of the financial burdens and also that someone who could be a mage came out of the orphanage. The priest spoke a bit softly "well child, you have a couple options now, usually although we test people at the age of five, most people only get affinities at ten to fifteen." he breathed in like he was about to repeat a boring speech "the options you have are to come to the temple for guidance and our teachings until you are ten or skip straight to learning at the mage tower, hm though you would most likely be the youngest there at the moment".

Neera thought for a few seconds, maybe minutes she didn't really know. Both options had their perks and drawbacks, but although it might be better to learn at the temple she doesnt want to get involved with gods at the moment. 'I mean if magic is real then so should be gods, and there are quite a few worshipped here.' she sighed 'the chance of me being here is a mistake could be possible, i should try not to get involved with gods and anything related much until I am stronger'.

Sorry for going M.I.A Ive been trying to plan out this thing, and I am really bad at making character interactions so I struggled over this. I mean this is my first time writing characters talk so I am terribly sorry if this sounds robotic!

Anyways hope you enjoyed!~
