2 Ways to Kill

"Lesson one, ways to kill a vampire."

Luo Yi groaned in pain. Every breath she took felt like thousands of needles being jabbed inside her lungs, which was probably true, her broken rib cages must have been stabbing into her lungs.

She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to ignore the pain, but everytime she moved a slight muscle while trying to get up, it sent a jarring blast of lightning into the brain. She even tried knocking her head on the ground to reduce the pain.

Slow footsteps were coming closer. The vampire was taking his time before finishing her off, which was a good thing for her. She opened her closed eye and came face to face with slick boots.

"First, you burn them."

She heard the vampire speak.

"Burn them until what remains is ash."

The vampire continued idly. He slowly crouched down into a squat, sitting on his heels.

"Second, you behead them."

Luo Yi gulped nervously. Her body couldn't repair itself because of the lack of blood. The greater the wound, the more blood a vampire needed to replenish it. Right now, the damage on her body was too much.

"Rip the head off the neck, if you can. Detached it completely," The vampire drawled.

"Here is an exclusive tip, consider it an extra bonus. After ripping the head off, be sure to seperate them as far as you can, you don't want them trying to reattach themselves, right?"

Even without looking, Luo Yi could sense the smirk from his tone, taunting.

"And lastly,"

His hand reached behind him, going under the white lab coat he was wearing.

"Always--"

He was cut off by a slight beep before the red door opened.

"Oh! Turns out you're here, Sire Lucifer! 'Boss' is here and he requested your presence."

A male raider in his mid-thirties, dressed in those rowdy looking clothes. He didn't seem to realize that he had interrupted something, which Luo Yi was glad about.

The fresh blood she smelled on him was overwhelming, especially when she was low on it. She had come onto a conclusion that she needed blood very much. Blood was the core of vampires. It was how they live, how they heal.

She gathered the tiny last bit of strength. While the vampire was distracted at the mention of this 'Boss', which reminded her-- so this vampire wasn't the 'Boss'?

She moved inhumanly fast. The eyes blinked and Luo Yi's palm snapped up and the nose exploded, blood erupting. Her leg kicked with a force of a cannon and the vampire flew back.

Without warning, she whirled around and pounced on the male raider. The raider let out a startled yell and staggered back. She snatched him and dragged him out, lunging into the opening. It was a miracle her hand never lost its hold on the katana.

Once she was out, she dropped the katana, spinning around to shut the metal red door. She kept her hold on the door until the loud beep rang, indicating that the door had locked itself automatically again.

Right after the beep, a thunderous boom echoed from the door. Another hollow boom against the red door made her wince.

Could he break this door? If he could, she was dead meat, literally dead this time.

"W-- Who are you?!"

The smell of fear was heavy in the air and something in her responded.

"How about being useful sounds to you?"

"W-- What?"

"Run."

Luo Yi said.

"I am giving you a head start. Go on."

Seeing a prey running fuelled the predator in her and that was how she enjoyed her food.

"What are you doing? I said run," She made a sooing motion with her hands.

The raider seemed to have frozen in fear. He even pissed in his pants. Normally, she would have scrunched her nose up in disgust.

But the blood that was pumping warm and hot under his skin right now, burning with fear and terror smelled really delightful to her.

"Don't say I didn't warn you."

Luo Yi pounced on him with a roar, baring her fangs that had burst out of her gums, poking her bottom lips. At that, the raider finally snapped out of it.

"Shit! Shit! Get away! Get away from me--!"

She grabbed his head, her fingers slipped through his dirty and oily hair and wrenched them aside, exposing his neck. She wasted no time in digging into her feast.

Her fangs pierced through the delicate skin and she was truly lucky when it hit straight at the artery where blood flowed the most. The raider gasped and jerked, twitching slightly. He tried to push her off, but she held on.

Ripping off a vampire during feeding wasn't remarkable. You might just ripped a chunk off yourself while trying to pull them off.

That aside, have you ever heard the saying not to disturb a dog while it was eating?

Warm thickness flowed into her mouth, rich and strong.

Every gulp filled her with strength and power. She could feel all her bones cracked back into their respective place and the wound on her head sealed close.

She growled and bit down harder when the blood wasn't flowing as quickly as she wanted it to, as if it had clogged up. She bit and twisted her fangs, trying to get it more, eliciting a strangled cry from the raider.

It was addictive.

It was intoxicating.

It was bliss.

She let her eye slip shut and consumed.

She drank and drank, until there wasn't any left.

The struggle the raider showed before had ceased to nothing. She released the body, letting it drop to the ground lifelessly. It was pale, two dark puncture wounds oozing crimson from his throat. The scent of life she smelled on him before was gone.

He was dead.

Yet she felt nothing.

What's more?

She was satisfied.

Weeks without blood was torture for her.

And now, her hunger was finally replenished.

Another hollow boom startled her. She was so lost in her feeding that she forgot about escaping. The red door now had a slight dent on it for how hard the vampire inside hit it.

She quickly grabbed her fallen katana and slipped into the darkness.
