VENGEFUL RABBIT ( III )

The dogs were too irritated to acknowledge him as a child; they could only see him as an obstacle, an enemy standing before them and their prey.

They jumped him, trying to overpower him and get to the rabbit behind him.

Leo, fresh out of war, used the combat skills he had learned. He waited patiently as the creature's fangs touched his hand; he plunged the dagger into its eyes and quickly stepped back as the other one also jumped with jaws open.

He, in turn, positioned the improvised fishing rod he had made, the rod entering the creature's open mouth, choking it.

Leo tried to force the stick further into the dog's mouth, but its comrade jumped him, attempting to take a bite of his hand. Slamming Leo onto the ground, he covered his head with his arm and fell into a fetal position, receiving the attack of the dogs. Blood dripped, drenching his parka coat, his and that of the injured dog.
