Suddenly, Mo Weian giggled as she hugged Xia Weiyang's arm. "Xia Weiyang, you're too kind! Hey! Why is your wrist bruised? It looks like a fingerprint. Who did this?" Mo Weian was furious as she said her last sentence.

"It's nothing. It was done by an insignificant person." Xia Weiyang said as she covered her arm.

At that moment, Lu Ziyin was indeed an insignificant person for her.

"Alright, it's getting late. You should go back quickly. I'm fine, really," Xia Weiyang said to stop Mo Weian from asking more questions.

"Are you really fine?" Mo Weian asked worriedly again. Seeing that Xia Weiyang nodded her head vigorously, Mo Weian knew she wasn't fine at all. "You should apply medicine to your arm to make the bruise go away."

"I know, I know. Hurry up and leave." Xia Weiyang answered repeatedly and gently pushed Mo Weian.

After Mo Weian left, Xia Weiyang lowered her head and looked at the bruise on her wrist. Although it looked painful, she didn't feel anything at all.

After collecting the guidelines for her assignment, Xia Weiyang left the office.

As she stepped out of the office building, she saw Shi Jue's elegant Bentley parked outside.

Some of the pedestrians who passed by the car could not help but turn their heads and admire the gorgeous vehicle.

As Xia Weiyang started walking towards the car, the phone inside her bag suddenly rang.

She frowned slightly as she took the phone out of her bag.

As soon as she saw the word "mother" on her phone's screen, her brows furrowed tightly.

"Who's calling?" Shi Jue, who was sitting inside the car, asked as he rolled down the window.

"My mother," Xia Weiyang said. Instead of answering, she immediately threw the phone back into her bag and entered the car. Suddenly, she remembered the events that took place inside her office. "What did you do to the Lu family?" Xia Weiyang asked Shi Jue.

"Why? Do you feel sorry for Lu Ziyin?" Shi Jue's tone was low and cold.

"Ha! That's impossible!" Xia Weiyang glared at Shi Jue. "I just want to know what you did. I'm happy something happened to him and his family."

Xia Weiyang's response lightened up Shi Jue's expression. He gave Xia Weiyang an assuring glance. He then leaned against his seat to get more comfortable. "Actually, I didn't do much. It's just that City B doesn't have the Lu family anymore."

"What?"

Xia Weiyang's eyes widened. She was obviously shocked by Shi Jue's revelation.

It was like Shi Jue snapped away the Lu family!

Making a prominent family's business disappear was a very big deal. No wonder Lu Ziyin wanted to attack Xia Weiyang at her office. To his eyes, she was an enemy of his entire family.

Suddenly, Xia Weiyang's phone rang again.

She took out her phone and hung up mercilessly. However, the person calling her was unwilling to give up. The phone rang over and over again.

Shi Jue was starting to get annoyed.

In an instant, he snatched away the phone from Xia Weiyang's hand and turned it off.

"If you don't want to answer your phone, just leave it off," he said.

Xia Weiyang took her phone back from Shi Jue. "What if it's an emergency?" Xia Weiyang was still thinking about what happened to Xia Ningyan earlier. She was not sure if she really had a miscarriage.

"Why do you care so much?" Suddenly, Shi Jue stared at Xia Weiyang. "Do you think they'll stop being mad at you if you answer your phone? Do you think that they will forgive you if you give in to their whims?"

'They won't.'

Xia Weiyang thought to herself.

She knew they would never be nice to her. Should would always be the target of their insults and abusive behavior.

It wasn't her fault. It was just how things were.
