Palworld: Washed Up Outsider

Dying during a pirate raid, and washing up in a different world wasn't something I expected. Especially not in a world that was just newly introduced to me. My whole situation is unnerving, but I'm quick to move on and adapt. So even if there's magical bullshit now it doesn't affect me much. I just have to survive... should be simple enough. (SI sorta)

Waking up and stretching out in bed, I throw my legs over the side and get out of bed. Grabbing some berries and snacking on them before grabbing my bag and some sphere's then heading out. Nitewing coming out of her roost as soon as the avian heard me up and about. Hopping onto the large avian's back after she lands beside me, we eventually take off. Looking for suitable Pals to start farming, making Paldium Fragments, ranching, and oddly enough… infinitely logging and mining.

As we flew around we found our first target, a congregation of Lamball's. Diving at them, I pulled out a slingshot and a sphere. Pulling back I honed in on one, sending the sphere that shot forward with a slight whistle. Repeating the process nine more times in quick succession while Nitewing avoided attacks from a blue penguin watching over the congregation. The abnormal state I entered when getting into combat seemed to have also triggered something else as a brief red message flashed in my eyes.

[Personal Talents: Marksman and Killer triggered]

Which would explain why everything seemed especially slowed down for me. Though I didn't know about Personal Talents, yet looking at them I can understand why I had them. With a mirthful chuckle as we swooped by the spheres they all disappeared as motes of light. Rounding our attacker though we slammed into the penguin, as it went flying I pulled out a sphere and shot it. Capturing the blue menace as the sphere disappeared into motes, my bag registering all the captured Pals. Chuckling as my combat high wore off quickly I stroked Nite's neck, deciding to give her a treat. Switching to a bow with an arrow notched, I pulled the arrow back while taking a deep breath. My eyes locking onto a Tanzee, adjusting my aim, I let the arrow fly.

The green monkey barely registered anything before the arrow impaled its right eye and into its brain. It looked stunned at its fate, wobbling shortly afterwards then falling backwards dead. Nite crooning as she landed by the monkey and began to feast while I took back my arrow carefully. I also received basic materials from the deceased Pal as my companion quickly devoured its flesh and organs. When Nite finished eating we took off once more to hunt for more workers. We ended up capturing a good amount before we headed back by mid-afternoon.

Capturing two Tanzee's, three Lifmunks, two Pengullets, five Foxsparks, two Eikthydeer, a Daedream, three Sparkit, and four Cattiva. After the first few we caught, while returning we did hunt and gather a lot of food for everyone. When we returned and I let everyone out, we had a miniature feast to say sorry for the abruptness. When I explained why we did so and where we're at, the different cast of Pals seemingly got behind the idea. As what I was proposing was essentially making this once abandoned church a sort of ranch and veterinary clinic.

As I had built everything I could after even gathering some ore and building a smithy attached to the church. Upon being built I immediately started working on smelting out some ingots for nails and such. My unnerving knowledge helped me to do so, though I also had smaller furnaces for the Foxsparks to smelt ingots. Though for the more Pal inclined use facilities I saved those for when the Pals were present. With the daylight we had left we rapidly constructed three berry farms, and a ranch-like pen with an actual housing space for those who wanted to sleep outside. The infinity sites were tricky, but when built as the light left the sky. Those who'd be working there were interested in seeing if they are truly infinite.

But that could wait until the morning as everyone went to bed for the time being. The next morning, however, was met with the Pals heading to their respective work sites and getting to work. The logging and stone sites were in fact infinite due to the Palsium in the air regenerating the materials. The sites secretly had runes to gather Palsium in order to regenerate their materials hidden within their foundations. Which was intriguing to see active when they were completed, there was also an ore site. However, it needs an actual ore deposit to be moved onto an empty foundation with the same runes. None of the Pals at camp were sufficiently strong enough to move something like that.

But with the stone and wood coming in, we managed to make a wall with a raised gate around the camp. More for safety than anything else honestly as a few rabid Pals did attack us. The Lamball's wool which was used to create softer bedding for the Pals and for banners to mark area's. The dyes for them are made from plants or berries on hand. When the camp was secured, we had our first encounter with some white robbed masked fucks chasing a Direhowl. As the canine barged into our camp followed by the Humans. I was the first to set off the chain reaction, from where I was I suddenly had my bow and an arrow firing.

The air struck a human's neck, halting them as they grabbed their neck and fell dead. The rest just charged in only to be met with ruthless attacks by the Pals living here. Nite grabbing one and carrying them off above the fencing before dropping them, impaling them up on the walls top. Before their corpse fell off due to a blade of air knocking it off. The rest weren't treated any differently by the others. If antlers didn't impale them, then ice missiles did, or they were mauled to death by the others. One was melted by Daedreams more poisonous attacks, the idiot thought they could tank it. But well… They stomped on Dae's little flower garden coming in, and the flying black sheep took that personally as he super charged the poison.

As the humans were slaughtered I carefully approached the rather excessively bleeding Direhowl. Pulling medical supplies from my bag, the canine snarled lightly but he, upon inspection of him, allowed me to approach. So I got to work on treating the big canine, not caring for the crawling white robbed woman. She was missing her lower half due to a Sparkit having ripped it off using electricity to launch a plasma blade. As she crawled closer I focused on my patient, a Cattiva with a pickaxe walking over. It raised its pick before swinging down, impaling the dying woman onto it. The Cattiva purred before dragging the now dead woman out of the camp.

The Direhowl looked off put by that, but also spiteful as it snarled at the corpses being dragged out. The blood and guts washed away by the Pengullets making rather annoyed sounds. I may have suddenly captured them all, but I provided food and shelter. I even let them contribute to building it up further, while being my Pals likely does influence them. They did find the idea of making their own safe area appealing, and if it could sometimes help their family outside its walls? Even better. When I finished treating the Direhowl, the canine left with a growl that almost sounded as if it was a promise to come back.

After that, we just resumed doing our respective work. The Pals are rather quick to switch back to work mode after killing the robed humans. Meanwhile with what we had, I was remaking medical salves using thin cloth from the Lamball wool. Turning the cloth into something like gause was relatively easy due Palsium influencing the cloth production. By the time I had made a crate of the salves and preserved them, a Sparkit was happily dragging me to dinner. The Foxsparks and Lifmunks had managed to cook up a rather mildly spicy dinner using their respective abilities. As I sat around a bonfire outside with everyone eating something whether it be grass, berries, or meat.

The atmosphere was homey as I and the Pals just ate in peace. The moon slowly rose into view as we ate around the bonfire. Although I felt that something would happen soon and it would involve those robed people.
