1 Chapter 1

Finding the person you're meant to be with is hard especially if you think you know what you're doing. In my case, I couldn't hold a stable healthy relationship. I also couldn't keep friends so as one might think I took to my phone and downloaded apps apon apps just to meet new people. I never knew I would meet the person I need in my life. This is the story of how I found the person I was made for.

"It takes two to be in a relationship Jackson" I screamed at my boyfriend before slamming the door in his face and sighing looking at my phone and a frown on my face seeing that all of my group chats and private messages were dead. Not even the one person I really wanted to hear from had texted me at all.

Jackson and I have been together for almost two years now. Much to many of my friends distaste. They keep saying he's abusive and controlling. It wasn't until recently that I saw what they were talking about. He controls who I have contact with and even worse he doesn't let me be free. Instead he plays mind games and pulls me right back in just to blind me all over again.

Living alone at age seventeen is hard but manageable, especially with friends like mine who practically live here too. I chose to move out because I just couldn't take how I was treated at home. Even the person I desire wanted me out of there. "Lilith your phone!" Nadine yells.

"Shit is it her?!" I jump out of my seat. The person I keep talking about is a girl named Priya. It means beloved in India where she is from. She told me the other day that she is moving close to me. Priya said she would call as soon as she was on her way to me.

I answer the phone disappointed to hear Jackson instead. "What was that about?" he asks, sounding as if he'd been crying. "Are you truly happy with me?" My eyes widen.

My phone beeps as if a call was incoming and sure enough one was. It was Priya. I smiled happily "No im not im breaking up with you." I say answering Priya's call. "Are you here?" I asked eagerly.

"Yep just got off the plane and headed to the entrance." She says, sounding just as excited as I am.

"I'll be there in a few minutes then. Nadine, I'll be back!" I grab my keys and start my car driving to the airport. As I pulled up to the airport I spotted a person I was there to pick up.

The girl had shoulder length black hair, wearing a green t-shirt with a black unzipped jacket over it, and a pair of jeans. I parked the car and got out, walking up to the gorgeous girl with a huge smile on my face. "Before we go on I want you to know I broke up with Jackson." Way to go me that's totally the first thing you want to say when picking her up! I yelled at myself.

"Well finally we've been telling you he's no good for you and that you're only hurting yourself staying with-'' she was cut off when my phone rang. I looked at the caller and declined the call.

"He won't leave me alone for awhile." sighing i put my phone back in my pocket and hugged Priya tightly. "I can't believe you're here." I was honestly really excited to have her here. I knew of course she did have to go back home as her movie is temporary. If only I had known the pain that she would put me through during her stay here.

I take her luggage from her and put it in the back so she can sit in the passenger seat. "So lils when did you break up with the jerk?" Priya asks. I look at her and smile widely.

"Right as you called me actually." I laugh "I was going to give him some long drawn out fake story as to why, but you called me right then so said 'i'm breaking up with you' and then hung up to answer your call" Priya laugh telling me that my priorities are total wack but kinda make sense.

A few minutes later we park in the driveway of my house to see at least five others outside of it. There were people inside the house and I didn't understand why but I was too excited to care. Taking Priya's stuff out of the car, I led her into the house. "Is it always a party here?" she asked laughing loudly.

"Usually it's me and few of my other friends." groaning, i set down the black haired girls stuff. I guide her through the chaos and to the room she'll be staying in before heading down stairs again to figure what was going on.

"Nadine what's going on! I thought I would be right back!"

"It's a welcoming party for your friend!" she yelled back through the crowd. I have no clue how she managed to get so many people here in such a short time (45 minutes) let alone plan the thing to begin with but she did.

"You know a few people would have been fine but this" I gesture to the crowd, "this is overwhelming get them out now this isn't even your house" I say calmly.

Heading back upstairs I go to my room so I can relax and prepare for the days ahead of me. I didn't know they would be so painful but this is my love story. I've suffered all my life and being able to find the right person is difficult. But i think Priya is the one for me. She knows me and she understands me and that's all I need. She cares for me especially since I told her about my medical problems and that is enough for me. It's a selling point I guess and I hope she stays by my side.
