Walking into the wolf's den

"I can't believe I let you guys drag me into this." I groan.

"Neo shut up! Don't blame us because your over protective!" Jack retorts.

"Guys! Be quiet! We don't want whatever's in here to find us!" Steve scolds in a hushed tone.

We grunt in response. Well hi. I'm Neomenia. I'm w/ my two best friends Jack and Steve.

These two are also the idiots that got me to come w/ them into a creepy ass forest! As Jack mentioned earlier I'm very protective of my friends.

I don't want to get into the reason as to why yet so I'll leave it at that.

"Guys! Stop where you are!" I exclaimed hurriedly in a hushed tone. They freeze and look at me.

"What's wrong?" Steve asks.

"Shhhh! Don't make a sound but be ready to go back." I informed.

They nod and wait. We stayed like that for a while and when we were about shrug it off we heard a snap to our left.

We snapped our heads towards the sound. It was brief but I saw eyes staring at us.

"Run!" I scream. They take off back the way we came and I wait a while then follow suit.

I waited cause I wanted to give them time to get away while also making sure they didn't get attacked from behind.

"Hey what did you see!?" Jack asks.

"Eyes!" I answer. They speed up at that.

"So I wanna be the first to say sorry and to say that we should've listened to you from the very beginning!" Steve states.

"I know! Now more running and less talking!" I say and we run faster. We run for a while like half an hour.

"I didn't realize we got this deep into this cursed forest! How much further!?" Jack asks.

"We're about half way there!" Steve answers. As soon as he finished I tackled him to the ground. "Hey! What was-!?" He started but was cut off when something jumped down in front of us.

"Heh. I'm surprised you saw me." The creature chuckled out.

It was a humorless chuckle. I got up and helped Steve up.

As soon as I helped him up I pulled Jack closer just in time to avoid something shooting past us right where he used to stand.

Our eyes widened at the site.

"Haha! That was neat! How did you know I was shooting?!" A voice says. It sounded cheerful and giddy.

Almost child like. We turn our heads to the voice and saw another figure. I would describe them but I can't.

Not because I don't know how but because they're literally covered in shadows!

I pushed my two friends away from me and down then jumped just in time to evade a sudden drop.

I twist my body out the way again just in time to evade another trap but this time it was a net that shot out of the sudden hole.

"She's good." A new voice says. It sound melodic, smoothe and velvety.

Not too high pitch but not too low either. I land and race to my friends.

"Do you think we could get pass that one and keep running towards the exit?" Steve whispers to me.

I moved us out of the way of a few arrows then again out of the way of a log moving past us.

"If we do it now then maybe. It seems each trap has someone or something new who operates it." I whisper back.

He nods. I let out a sigh as if I had just asked him if was okay.

"Well that's neat. Even now she's more worried about her companions rather than herself. Even after all these traps." One of the previous voices states.

I'm not paying them much mind anymore. I turned to Jack and acted like I was checking him.

"Double jump then evade." Jack whispers. I nod and put on a look of relief.

So we speak in codes if we wanna attack or fight or whatever the case that involves some violence or what ever.

And in our group we each have a role. Steve is the brains. Managing our money and stuff like that. Also helping w/ school.

Jack is the battle strategist. He may be an idiot since he's the one that got us in this situation. But he has his perks.

Then I'm the powerhouse. I got good reflexes and strength to boost. I get ready then I charge at the first thing to appear.

I put them in a choker hold and use them as a shield. The guys get up and race towards the exit.

Once they get a ways away I kick the body shield at one of the other shadow figures and sprint off.

I caught up to the guys pretty fast and we speed up. We had just gotten to the exit when we heard hurried footsteps coming our way.

Our exit was a hole in a fence. So we all couldn't go through at the same time.

"Hurry up!" I exclaimed. I was just about to go through the hole when I felt a hand pull me back.

"No!" I hear the guys yell. I look up and see... GIRLS!?

There's two girls in front of me glaring at my friends on the other side of the fence, I can feel that someone has their hands on me.

And that's all. That I know of anyways. I try to sit up since when I got pulled back I ended up laying down w/ my arms supporting me a bit.

But when I tried to sit up whoever was holding me tightened their grip and pulled me back down.

I would've tried again but they did something that made me freeze. They... GROWLED!?

I look at the guys and they look paralyzed. They see me looking at them and they snap out of it.

"L- look we're sorry that we went onto your turf but can we please get our friend back? A- after that we will never come back!" Steve asks in a panic.

The one that has me grip tightened again and I heard more growls.

I was getting uncomfortable so I tried to sit up again but this time the one that had me pulled farther away from the exit.

Pulled? No more like threw me I landed flat on my back this time. I groaned but didn't move to sit up again.

"Hey!" I hear Jack cry. "What was that for!?" He demanded.

I heard growls followed by footsteps. I look up a bit and see one of the females moving closer to the fence.

My eyes widened and I shot up. I got between her and the fence and had my arms up. I glared at her straight in the eyes.

She stopped and stared at me in what seemed to be shock.

I looked behind me at the guys and they looked relieved that I was still alive or awake after that.

I turned my attention back to the females in front of me and my glare also returned. None of them seemed to be moving so I started to slowly back away.

After a few steps they came back to reality and the one I jumped in front of pounced at me. I dodged then took a dive for the exit.

I was almost completely out when one grabbed my ankle. She tried to pull me back through but I fought.

The guys also came up to help me. But this bitch's grip strength was no joke!

*HOWL!*

The female that had my ankle froze when we heard that howl. In fact all the females froze.

Suddenly they all moved aside and bowed!? Well all except the one that had my ankle still.

I kept trying to get my foot back but even though she wasn't pulling against me really her grip kept tightening.

I looked up when I felt one of the guys tap my shoulder. When I did I saw a very intimidating female walking up.

I felt my blood run cold. We tried harder to get my foot free but stopped when we heard a thunderous growl.

Our heads shot up and saw the new female growling at us. She kept growling and glaring at us for a good minute.

Then I suddenly felt a tug on my leg and looked down to see that the one that had my leg was trying to pull my through again.

I yanked my foot back the best I could which got another but louder growl from the new female.

"Dude do you have any idea on what's happening?" Jack asks Steve.

"Not a clue." He responds.

"Let her go!" The new female growls. We look at each other confused till she points at the guys.

"I said let her go!!" She repeats her eyes narrowing. They only tighten their grip.

"Not till that one lets her go." Steve says a matter of factly.

The female's eyes widened then narrowed dangerously at Steve. The new female suddenly grabs the fence and growls loudly at him.

"You either listen to what I say or we can make you!" We jump at her action. I saw her eyes briefly go to me then right back to Steve.

"She doesn't like people grabbing her. Especially if she doesn't know them. We're just trying to keep her calm or as calm as possible right now since that one has her. Plus it doesn't help that she has such a tight grip that we can see that she's cutting of her circulation." Jack states.

The new female eyes shot to my ankle.

"You both have to let her go and she CAN'T move." The female says.

We look at each other then nod. Steve lets go first then they wait for the one that has my ankle to let go.

After a while she gets the hint then turns and looks at the new female. She nods then the one that has my ankle lets go and backs off.

Jack lets go slowly after. I twist my ankle a bit to get circulation back but stop when I hear movement.

I look up and see the new female coming closer to my leg and sitting right by it. I tense and lean back a bit.

Her eyes narrow at that but she doesn't do anything.

"What are you doing?" Steve asks getting closer to me.

"I'm here just in case you try to pull something. But she can keep twisting her ankle if it helps. I'm not gonna stop that." She says.

"What do you guys want?" Jack asks.

"Hm?" The female hums while cocking an eyebrow.

"You guys surrounded us and set of multiple of traps. We got free and ran to the exit. But instead of letting us all exit you block her. You keep her away from it and glare at us. Then when she's mostly out you prevent her from exiting fully. I would've thought that you would want us out of your territory but instead you keep trying to keep one of us in it. Why? What are you planning to do, what do you want?" He elaborates.

We all look at her and she takes a minute to answer.

"Do you know what we are?" She asks. We look at each other then her confused.

"I think we can see that you're girls?" Jack answers in a questioning tone.

"No I mean species." She states.

"Human?" Steve answers in a questioning tone as we start to get more confused.

"Heh! No. We're lycans." She chuckles. We're still confused. She must have saw it cause she explains.

"We're basically bigger, stronger, faster and smarter werewolves." Our eyes widen.

Now under any other circumstance we would've thought who ever said that was crazy.

But w/ their growling, them answering to the howling and their insane strength I don't think we have anything to refute it.

"But that doesn't explain what you want." Steve says.

"Well we have those traps to have fun w/ our prey. And typically when we start setting them off they get hit or if they some how miraculously dodge it and last a bit if they came into the forest as a group they'll turn on each other. So when we saw her still protecting you guys while also evading the traps we got intrigued. Then she attacked one of us. But others wouldn't want to get close to us. They'll most likely go for distance attacks if they sum up the courage to attack that is. If the attack doesn't work the greatest they still have space to evade a counter. She didn't." She says.

"But they glared at us and you guys frankly don't seem so intrigued by us trying to get her away from you." Steve brings up.

"We don't like males." She answers shortly and bluntly.

We just stare at her taken aback. I pull the guys down closer to me so I can whisper to them.

"Well that's the most up front answer I've ever heard someone give." They nod in agreement.

"Hey, how come you're not talking to us?" She asks.

"She doesn't like talking to new people." Steve answers for me.

"Well she should warm up to us soon, but just so we can be prepared. How long does it take for her to warm up to people?" I shift uncomfortably at what she said.

I look at the guys and they look just as uncomfortable and confused as me.

"What do you mean?" Jack asks.

"Isn't it straight forward? How long do we have to wait for her to talk to us?" She repeats herself annoyed.

"No we got that part. What we meant was how is she gonna warm up to guys if we promised not to come back?" Steve elaborates.

"Well she's not leaving. She's staying w/ us. So we wanna know how long is it gonna take for her to talk to us." She informs.

We look at her in utter disbelief. After a while of us just looking at her like that she tilts her head.

I look at the females behind her and they mirror her expression. I look at the guys and they look at me.

We have a silent conversation then turn back to them.

"So you're gonna force her to stay w/ you lot after you had just scared her to high Jesus, set traps that could've very well killed her. Attacked her friends. Then after that you chase her when she and her friends get away. You trap her in the forest w/ you while still being threatening to her friends. Then when she was nearly out you grab hold of her ankle so tight she loses circulation. Now either we're missing something or y'all are just loco." Steve states.

They growl at that.

"Hey don't growl at him because he called you mutts out!" Jack says as he bangs on the fence.

The female that was sitting by me shot up and was about to punch the fence where his face was.

I teleported in front of him and pushed him back and dodged just in time to miss it. After checking on my friend I turned to glare at the female.

But my glare soon turns into confusion when I see her face. I look at the guys and see they mirror my expression.

I look at the other females and see them having the same as the female that tried to punched Jack through the fence.

Steve was about to speak when she beat him to it.

"You broke the rule." She says. We look at each other and her confused.

"Rule?" Steve asks.

"She moved!" She says sounding more angry. It clicked and we try to calm her down.

"Sorry, she didn't do it on purpose she just acted before she thought. She'll put her leg back then-." He stops mid sentence.

He saw that as I was putting my leg back to keep the peace when the female that had my ankle before and the one talking to us tried to grab it. I shot back and away from them.

"What the hell!?" Jack asks.

"She moved! So we get to drag her in!" The female growls.

"That's not how that works!" Steve says. They just growl at him and stare at me.

They looked as if they were expecting me to come back and go back into the forest willingly.

I just walked over to the guys and started pulling them away.

"Hey! Get back here!" She roars out. I whispered to the guys.

"I thought they were wolves not lions." The guys got a laugh out of that.

After a while we started to hear what sounded like the fence being hit. We look and see the female punching the fence.

We got scared and ran. We ran to Jack's place since he lived the farthest from that forest.

"Jack I fucking hate you." I say as I catch my breath.

"That makes three cause I know Steve hates me too for that." He states. Jack's parents were at work so we decided to fix something to eat. We made pizza and just chatted.

"Jack!!" We hear his mom yell.

"Yeah mom?!" Jack shouts back.

"Get your ass down here now!" She tells him. We all tensed. Jack's mom doesn't cuss. So he's in deep shit.

"Bring your friends too!" She adds. We all turn pale.

We head down and see Jack's mom and dad. Steve's mom and grandparents. Then Felix and Chloe, w/ the hell spawn.

"You called mom? Also what's Steve's family and... Them. Doing here?" Jack asks.

"Why didn't you say Neomenia's family?" Jack mom asks.

"Because I don't see them here. But again what's going on?" He elaborates.

"We'll talk about that after, but the government is at the fence. Talking to creatures called lycans. They kept saying they want someone. We happened to be passing by when we heard the conversation. They were describing a group of three that went into the forest. We were thinking it couldn't be our idiots then they described you guys to a T. Wanna explain?" She says w/ her arms crossed and tapping her foot.

Me and Steve snap our heads to Jack and cross our arms. His mom raises an eyebrow.

"So long story short I use her protective nature to get these two to follow me into the forest. We came across them they tried to kill us but she got us out. They took an interest in her because humans in that situation normally say every man for himself. When she didn't they said 'different we want.' Now we were doing what we could for her too but they straight up said they don't like males. So we got a pass but she didn't. They said they wanted to keep her w/ them. Steve pointed out why that obviously couldn't work they growled at him. I went to the fence and hit it while telling them to shut up. One didn't like it the most and tried to punch me but she saved me. Now she was almost completely through the fence when one caught her ankle. They didn't like us touching her so we made a deal that they let go we let go. They agreed but said she couldn't move. We said ok and that's how we talked to get our information. Well when she moved to save me they didn't like that. We tried to calm them down and have her go back to where she was but they tried to pull her through back into the forest. They were acting crazier and more animalistic so she dragged us away. They did something that made us even more scared and we ran away." Jack explained.

"Neomenia! Come on, you're going back and fixing what ever you did!" Felix yells and tries to grab me. The guys blocked him and I went into the kitchen.

"Get back out here and come on!" Chloe yells at me. I come back out but w/ a knife.

"Sweetheart why do you have a knife?" Steve mom asks. I point at Felix and Chloe and their hell spawns.

"Are you going to attack your own family?!" Felix yells. I go to the guys for them to relay the message.

"I'm not gonna attack my family. I'm gonna protect myself if you things try to touch me." Steve says for me.

I head back upstairs and hide and leave a note.

"Neo? Come on where did you go?" Jack asks. They started looking for me since I've been gone for 30 minute.

"What's this?" I hear him ask then I hear paper being picked up. "Crap! STEVE!!" He yells then races down.

If you're wondering about the note I just said I didn't feel safe being near Them. So I went somewhere safe.

The guys should know the meaning. So once They. Leave I'll come out and make plans to move.

"Ok you two where is she?" Steve's mom asks.

At this point it's been 4 hours since they all started searching for me. They just left and now only Steve's and Jack's families are here.

"I'm right here." I say from the kitchen door way.

"Holy mother of cow!! Where did you- when did you,-!?" Steve's mom exclaims.

"That's not important right now. Why did you want to see me?" I ask fleeing innocence.

"Why didn't you talk when your family was here and why didn't they call them your family?" Jack's grandma asks.

"Because they aren't her family and never will be!" Jack and Steve answer immediately and passionately.

"Can, can you explain it please?" Steve's father asks me while he and the rest of the two families recover from the shock that Jack and Steve put them in.

"They're abusive. I don't want to get into it right now. In fact if those two hadn't seen it first hand I never would have told them." I inform.

The two families look at me w/ sympathy in their eyes.

"And this is part of the why." I add softly while looking away and rubbing my arm.

"What do you mean?" Jack's mom asks.

"People tend to look at others who have been through abuse differently. Especially when they first find out. I didn't want anyone especially not those I care about to see me and look at me differently from how they used to." I elaborate.

"Enough of this! What we need to be discussing is how to get us out of here!" Steve exclaims.

"Quiet idiot!" Steve's mom says smacking him upside his head.

"Bwahahaha!" I burst out laughing. At least now the mood seems lighter.

"Despite him being an idiot he's right. We need to make sure Neo can get out of here fast and safe." Jack says.

"Thank you, wait. Hey!" Steve remarks offended.

"Enough you two, let's just get a plan ready." I say calming down after laughing for a good minute or two.

"Hurry up you three! We don't have much of a window!" Steve's mom rushes us in a hushed tone.

So we're finally able to leave but the thing is since I've 'disappeared' the gov and THEM have been looking for me.

So we couldn't be opened about this but our plan is basically still the same and intact.

So our plan that we have followed was we book a flight at an airport some ways away.

We'll leave during a shift change for the government people but that doesn't leave much time seeing as it's a supernatural creature they're dealing w/ they made these changes as fast as possible.

"We're good let's go!" Steve says in a hushed tone once we got all that we needed loaded and we were in.

Soon we were off and on the road. Once we got a decent ways away we all visibly relaxed. Soon we were all chatting or playing road games.

A drive that lasted hours, as in 2 hours on the road wouldn't get you half way to where we were heading, long drive. But it actually felt like it went by pretty fast.

We went through security and were waiting for the plane to board cause get this we actually arrived early so we had some time to spare.

"NEOMENIA! COME OUT AND GET YOUR BUTT OVER HERE RIGHT NOW!" Someone yells.

We all snapped our attention to whoever it was yelling for me. When we did we saw Felix, Chloe, and their hellspawn.

Behind them we see the government people. They just called for our plane to board so we got up as calmly as possible and walked to the gate.

We just got to our seats when the government people came rushing on.

"We are looking for a girl that looks like this!" A government dude announces as another holds up a picture of me.

"Please look around at the people by you! If someone matches this picture please alert us!" He finishes.

Everyone looks around. We pretend to do so as well. When the guy in front of moves to turn and look at me I 'drop' something and go to pick it up.

He must've been just glancing about and didn't really care cause as fast as he had turn to look the faster he returned to normal.

"It appears she's isn't on this plane." A stewardess says to the government dude.

"It appears so. Sorry for-." He was saying until an unwanted passenger boards and interrupts him.

"Wait! I know she's on this flight! Just let us look around!" Felix pants as he and his other abominations rush on.

"Fine if you believe you can do better. Just make it fast." The government dude says.

Felix takes a glance around and spots Steve's dad. He slaughters over to him.

He looks at his seat then behind Steve's dad and spot us.

"You in the middle. Look at me." Felix orders. I just ignore him. He tries to grab me but his hand gets grabbed by Jack and Steve glares at Felix.

"You can't just grab people!" Steve yells at him.

"Listen here you brats! That's my daughter so if I wish to grab her I can!" He roars and yanks his hand back.

He pulled Jack forwards some when he did so and caused him to hit his jaw pretty bad on the seat.

"What the hell!?" Jack's mom yells.

I immediately shot into action. I checked his jaw and thankfully he's ok. But as soon as I was done I stood and clocked Felix square in his jaw.

He went from being right against the seat to by the window in the opposite one. His jaw is also laying slack w/ a good amount of blood. Plus his eyes are rolled back into his head.

"Put your hands in the air!" The government dude orders as he and his companions all take out their guns and point them at me.

I do as told but keep my head down.

"Hey! What's wrong w/ you!? That dude clearly harassed us first! He even cause him to hit his jaw on the seat! So why are you pointing your guns at them!? And not him!" Steve roars.

"Because he was giving aide to us to better help us find someone!" The government dude replies.

"So if I'm helping you I can go around touching people even if I don't know if they respond well to touch!?" Steve counters.

"Well no but-." The government dude tries to defend but gets cut off.

"But what!? Everyone saw that he was the aggressor but you pulled your guns on someone defending themselves and someone else!" Steve brings to light.

Then suddenly I feel something pull at my head. I look back and see Felix had gotten up and behind me then pulled my hood off my head.

I snapped and punched him again. Again sending him flying. But this time he went flying to the back of the plane.

"Enough! Turn around slowly! And put your hands back in the air!" The government dude once again orders.

I comply then their faces went from angry to pissed.

"Get into the isle now!" He commands. I however don't move. "Hey didn't you hear what I said!?" He asks annoyed.

Steve leans in so I can whisper to him. The dude tries to say something when Steve just puts a finger up.

"She says she can't get out w/ out putting her arms down because of how cramped these seats are." Steve says.

"And why couldn't she say that herself?!" He asks clearly pissed and annoyed.

"Because she doesn't talk to people she doesn't know." Steve answers.

"Just so you're aware those two boys are her friends and the two adults in front of them are ones parents and the lady that yelled earlier and the two elderly next to her are the others mom and grandparents. They all live in our town and should know what's going on." Chloe says.

"What!? All of you stand up w/ your hands in the air!" He yells beyond furious. They all do so.

"Now all of you come out slowly and one at a time from each row!" He bellows. We do so and they cuff us as we come out.

"You're coming w/ us and the rest of you are under arrest!" My eyes widen and I stop in my tracks.

Luckily I was in front of them so me stopping caused them to stop.

"Come on now! We don't have time for this! Pick her up if you have to!" He orders. When they tried to though I went to bite them.

"She fucking bites!? Hey can one of you get control of your daughter!?" He asks.

As soon as Chloe tried coming closer to me I got my hands in front of me and grabbed the nearest person's gun.

And aimed at her. They all looked at me like they just saw a ghost.

"Ok how do we get you to come willing and put the gun down?" He asks calming down a bit. Jack moves up and by me to relay the message.

"Drop all charges against my friends and their families and charge those three w/ abuse, neglect-." Jack begins but gets interrupted.

"What! We're not doing baseless charges and dropping real ones!" I look at him side ways like 'Huh? Do you really think I'm just like this or something?'

"Wait are you saying that- OH MY GOD! ARREST THOSE THREE!"

*Sigh.*

"I guess we can also drop their charges. Kid you give us the rest of the offenses later ok?" He asks Jack.

Jack nods then I lower the gun and we walk off the plane.

"But she also wanted you to reimburse us for the money spent on our gas and flights." Jack informs.

"What!?"

30 Minutes Later.

So after a very terrifying car ride we made it back to the town.

"We brought her here." The dude says as we get closer to the fence.

After he said that the females or should I Lycans appear from thin air.

"What's on her wrist?" The intimidating female asks.

"Hand cuffs she got violent so we had to restrain her." He answers.

"Was she harmed!?" The female asks.

"No! She was unharmed!" He tries to defuse the situation as fast as possible. "But anyways why did you want her?" He asks.

"Put her by the hole in the fence." The female says not even bothering to acknowledge his question. He does as she says uneasily.

"There. Now why-?" He tries again but cuts himself off when he sees them try to pull me through the hole.

I moved out the way just in time to avoid them though.

"Seriously!?" The female growls out. I feel her eyes on me but I don't acknowledge her.

I just stare past the government people in the direction of Steve's house. Or old house if they can't get it back.

"Hey was she like this when you were bringing her here?" She asks.

"Well she did get less reactive but she wasn't staring off blankly." He answers.

She tries to get my attention. She tried touching me through the fence at the part I was leaning on but I moved away.

"Listen she needs to be on this side of the fence for us to leave. So if I was you I'd get to it!" She barks out.

No pun intended. The government people surrounded me and came closer trying to get me to move towards the hole in the fence.

I just moved farther away from the fence as a whole. When one of them got too close to me I kicked him in the gut and walked over him.

9 Hours Later.

They got me wrapped in bubble wrap and duct tape and are carrying me like a battering ram to the hole.

They finally got me through it and the females were all staring at me and then started going from me to the government people back to me.

"We don't know whether or not it's sad or impressive that it took them so long to get you over here?" The female says but I couldn't care less.

I'm just trying to get out of the child safe burrito they put me in.

"Oh come on don't ignore us!" She..... POUTS!? I stop briefly and look at her then go back to struggling.

*Sigh.*

"Looks like we're going to have a hard time trying to get her to cooperate." She states.

Next thing I know is I'm getting picked up. They start taking me away from the fence and I start struggling more and harder.

"I think she's going to hurt herself if she keeps this up Alpha." One of the other females say.

"Looks like we're going to have to put her to sleep." The intimidating female says. Then all the sudden darkness.
