4 Wait, there are numbers?

[-Hold your horses big man, first we have to discuss what is happening around you.-] Kim just nodded along as he touched Max's orb.

~Ding~ 'The [Juvenile Spirit Wolf], Maximilian Anderson would like to bond with you, do you accept? [WARNING: THIS IS A PERMANENT ACTION!]

~Ding~ 'You have successfully tamed a [Level 1- Juvenile Spirit Wolf], congratulations!'

~Ding~ 'You have gained 100 experience!'

The rush that Kim felt this time was much less, probably due to the fact he hadn't leveled.

"You are such a good boy Max!" Kim ruffled his ears as Max smiled back.

[-Your world is changing, obviously, but that doesn't mean it is "End Times" like your species portrays. Your life will be in a significant amount of danger, but honestly, most species have around an 80% survival rate for the ENTIRE wave. That sounds like a lot, but you will be fighting this for around 40-years in human time. Once everything stabilizes, your rate of survival increases to over 98%.-]

"So, no giant monsters capable of destroying cities?" Kim let out a sigh of relief.

[-Oh no, don't get me wrong. There will be TONS of monsters, but you have a solid to assured chance of beating it as a species. With the war-like nature of your species, I actually personally project over 90% survival rate for the first 10 years.-]

Kim shut his mouth, no more jinxing.

[-One day, your family might be MASSIVE. Alpha Spirit wolves can get BIG with a focus on physical prowess. The power to weight ratio is INSANE. They can use mana to MANAfest physical weight as they run at someone, imagine Muhammad Ali. Float like a Spirit Wolf, sting like a Malgadron.-] Albert took a moment to chuckle and appreciate his own humor.

After Kim tamed another Spirit Wolf, he noticed the experience was greatly reduced. The rest gave experience in the single digits.

~Ding~ 'You have gained 25 experience!'

~Ding~ 'You have gained 10 experience!'

~Ding~ 'You have gained 9 experience!'

~Ding~ 'You have gained 5 experience!'

~Ding~ 'You have gained 7 experience!'

~Ding~ 'You have gained 5 experience!'

~Ding~ 'You have gained 6 experience!'

~Ding~ 'You have gained 7 experience!'

~Ding~ 'You have gained 9 experience!'

Albert was getting paperwork ready while Kim continued taming his family. They were just as much a part of him as he was them.

Kim felt his skin start to burn.

~Ding~ 'You meet the requirements to form a Legacy, would you like to form it?'

Panicking noises could be heard, [-YES, SAY YES.]

Kim shook his head and just felt his chest. His skin was still a little flabby, but it was good enough. There were small bumps that had formed in a circle. After taking his shirt off, he noticed the pattern of gold.

A single large golden circle surrounded by smaller circles that seemingly orbited slowly under his skin.

"Yes?" Kim spoke as a flash of light shone once more.

~Ding~ 'You have formed the Legacy, [Aspect of the Pack], congratulations!'

Kim nodded, "Okay, so what does it do?"

[-Kid, we just got a massive bonus for free. You must be the only person immediately binding with their animals as a pack.-]

"Wait, but I am not the only one with dogs, how can that be, how am I first?"

[-Maybe it is because of the entire pack being the same? Maybe the System thinks you tamed an entire den? I would suppose most of these dogs would have turned into wolves with different attributes. Most of them would be standard wolves, but surely some would excel in an aspect or element. With you taming all of the same type, WITH an Alpha, I think that is the reason.-]

Kim nodded, "Seems reasonable, ha, NOT. But I guess." he left off with a shrug.

[-It is up to the System, I am just the interpreter man.-]

Kim stood up and went to get some of the gear ready.

[-Whatcha doin'? Going to town already?-]

"Mhm, we need to get in contact with others. The power is still on, for now, but I am going to guess we are going to have to go back to the old ways, right? I mean, some people will be able to continue their old jobs, but this means we will be living possibly a millennia back. A good old camp fire and s'more type of vibe."

[-Smart cookie-] Albert tipped his top hat in recognition.

[-I would have suggested that, but you are well ahead of the curve, I have to limit my help right now…-]

Kim had a strange look on his face.

"Okay...how about you explain some of the standard functions of the System while I am getting supplies, now where are my double-thick socks?!"

[-Ah, a request, perfect. I will gladly oblige. The System is a Multi-Universal Guidance Tool. It is one of many such tools. Your wolves have access to a slightly different version. Less wit and sarcasm, but equally effective. These tools are free with the destruction of your universe's barrier, however, subsequent versions or births will not automatically receive the tool.-]

"So, if a baby was born, no System, got it."

Albert just nodded and continued, [-The tools are able to convert the deadly byproducts of the new reality and make them usable by "Obsolete" models of life.-]

"Woah, wait, are you saying a baby born will die without the System?"

[-Yes and no, the child may be able to grow up with 'minimal' issues...but when they acquire their first large amount of Experience, they will take in a lethal amount of toxins.-]

"Note to self, no fucking then. And how would we get another tool?"

[-Ah, did I forget to tell you about the Bartering System? Well, basically, in places of great flux, there will be a shop with a random assortment of items. Usually they have an excess amount and are able to Conjure any Item you may require. The Mana-Density of a Zone will determine the ability of the Shop.-]

"Thanks, this is great, now how do I look at my level or skills?"

[-...I forgot even that...I am ashamed of myself.-] Tears could be felt running down Albert's cheek as he dabbed them with a high-quality handkerchief.

[-Brace yourself, the first time is...shocking.-]

"Woah, that was a lot." Kim stumbled and felt his potential waiting to be assigned. Each point was a new level of power just waiting for assignment.

"Wait, I am level 1, I thought I leveled already?"

[-You did. The starting level is 0. If we automatically infuse the Mana for the first level, it means newborns have a death sentence…-]

"Oh, yeah....I like it this way." Kim said while smiling. As he was looking through, he assumed most of the labels were placed on a 'person by person' basis. Most kids would get game stats, but an old folk would be confused when reading "Spirit".

"Cool system you have here, does it come with an Air Freshener? Oh wait, his name is Albert." Kim had a chuckle and he could smell the scent of fresh Pine being wafted his way by a certain gentleman.

As Kim grabbed the last of his supplies, he wondered how he was going to get to town.
