Useless

Shandock growled, his eyes red with anger. Considering they both were captains of different divisions and under different dukes, bad blood should be expected right? or was there something else?

Shandock turned his gaze to the Marshals causing them to flinch in fear.

He then flicked his hand and a book came out of nowhere.

"This is a summary of this world. Thanks to the system, you don't have to read it", he said before tossing it to the closest Marshal. It was a junior Xavier recognized. Probably had seen him in school few times.

His eyes widened a bit as he stared at the book, not long he passed the book to the next person. Soon it was Xavier's turn. He grabbed the book and tried to open it like others.

"Would you like to learn this book?", A screen appeared.

Xavier knew what he had to do and willed for himself to learn the book. Almost immediately, his sight became cloudy as tonnes of information flooded his mind. It had happened in just few seconds and he now knew way more about this world.

Many rumors surrounded the origins of this world. No one was sure. Ozion was known to contain millions of species and thousands of races. The book talked a bit about some. From popular ones like Elves to uncommon ones like Gibberlings and even ones he had never heard of. Like a race similar to the faeries, Sylvaries. The book talked about them and their characteristics.

It didn't take long for the it to go round and back to Shandock. He grabbed the book and made it disappear into thin air just like it came. Xavier guessed he was only putting it in his inventory.

"Good! That would be all for today. Tomorrow will be for the filtration. For now.. follow the guards to the dining hall for your dinner.", Shandock said before walking off.

The Marshals were led to another hall. It was filled with long chairs and desks. The desks had plates filled with delicacies on them.

Xavier and his coursemates noisily rushed the feast. They had not eaten since they got summoned so it was expected. After gulping down to their fill, they were led back to their rooms.

Xavier laid in his bed as he stared into space deep in thoughts. As much as he tried to hide it, he was worried. What would they do to him when they find out he was trash. They probably had found out since the Captain was above level 10 and could inspect other profile status.

Xavier sighed as he turned to lay on his side.

'I guess I should just go to bed for now'.

The Marshals were gathered in the hall again the next day, some were chatting while some were silently waiting for Shandock to show up. Xavier was seated cross-legged on the floor just beside Jace who was also seated with his legs hugged to his chest.

"Hey dork", a voice called from behind them.

It was Drake, also one of Xavier and Jace's classmates. Xavier would always avoid him back on earth. He was exactly the kind of guy he couldn't help but detest. Was it his perfect hair? or was it his beautifully toned body and perfectly shaped face. Not that Xavier was ugly, just that he was better looking. But even with all these, they were still not enough to make Xavier hate a man.

Drake was the ring leader of the deliquents in their class. He came from an extraordinarily rich home, even the late bolce could not hold a candle to him. Thanks to this, he had created a gang of other rich guys who helped him in effectively carrying out his menacing act.

One of the perks of being in a private school right?!

"Oh the dorking dorks are here", another voice sounded. It was Paul, his best friend and a member of his gang.

They both chuckled shoddily.

"We don't want any problem, please be on your way", Xavier said gently trying his best to hide his anger.

The two nuisance only stared at each other before smirking.

"Oh... little Xavier doesn't want any problem", Paul moved closer to Xavier who was already on his feet. He grabbed his shirt and pulled him closer.

Jace immediately stood up to try save his friend but was blocked by Drake who had a mischievous smile on his face. Now other Marshals were beginning to gather, some were actually praying for a fight.

Xavier remained calm, he was already used to the bullying of Drake and his gang and had built up a strong mentality of not giving them the emotion they wanted badly; fear.

Paul sneered at Xavier's indifferent attitude. He hated that about him. He pushed him off allowing him to fall on his back.

"-1", a number floated off Xavier's head. He had seen it and so had others.

"It really is like a game after all", Drake laughed coarsely.

"That's enough", a very familiar voice made the hall go quiet. Shandock was around. He casually walked towards the middle of the hall where the Marshals immediately set themselves in a formation.

He walked up to the first row, a young boy stood there. Shandock felt like a mountain as the boy couldn't help but shiver.

"Show me your status boy"

The boy nodded biting his lips.

Shandock's eyes widened in shock. Surely, he had expected these cross-worlders to be innately powerful but this was too overpowered for a level 1! He had not bothered to use an observation skill on them because he knew constitution were under primary status and observation skill could only view the secondary status. He never considered their stats would be this high at level 1.

He quickly adjusted and smiled at the boy sending chills down his spine.

"Step out", he ordered before moving to the next. The next person was a girl and she was just as impressive.

The king is going to be so pleased when he sees this.

After inspecting more than ninety, Shandock had only found three that had constitutions which were not battle compatible. He had seperated them from the rest.

Soon it was Xavier's turn. He gulped as he showed his status.

Shandock frowned as he stared at Xavier's stats. He had a look of surprise and disappointment.

"Trash", Shandock mumbled before moving to the next person.
