8 The Difference

+16th Century, 1558. The Vredrivia Kingdom.

Octavius, the only child of the queen and the king of the Vredrivia Kingdom and the only pure royal is seven years old now.

Even though he was still a young kid a lot of kings and queens all over the world asked Opeline to betroth Octavius to their sons who are in the same age as the prince so that when they reach eighteen can easily get married, but Chantal the queen of the Vredrivia kingdom declined all these proposals and prevented the king from accepting them as well under the pretext that HER son needs to choose his mate by himself when he gets older.

There were many reasons why these rulers wanted to betroth Octavius to their sons, some of them only wanted this so that they can improve the political and diplomatic relations between their kingdom and between Octavius' kingdom and also make the Vredrivia kingdom their ally.

And the others were fond of how captivating Octavius was and they were sure he will become one of the most breathtaking omegas around all the kingdoms and empires when he will grow up which is why they wanted their sons to have a chance with him.

Normally, the crown prince of the kingdoms was supposed to be revealed as the crown prince on the day they were born, but Opeline refused to announce that and nobody has any idea who will be the crown prince of the Vredrivia kingdom which is why Octavius is only considered as a prince, not the crown one.

During these seven years, king Opeline enacted the Odalisques law inside his royal palace for the first time in centuries and he refused to be intimate with the queen from the day Octavius was born.

It's true that most kingdoms and empires had Odalisques in their royal palaces for the rulers but in the Vredrivia kingdom Odalisques have never happened in their royal palace since most of the rulers believed in loyalty to their mates but now and after centuries the king Opeline decided to get odalisques in the royal palace.

When his majesty said "Have you ever seen any omega ruling? No. If you can't give me an alpha to be the crown prince, I'll get it myself." To the queen, he was not lying because just after one year of Octavius' birth one of his odalisques gave birth to his alpha child and after a year and a half another Odalisque gave birth to another alpha son of his.

Arthur Antias the six-year-old alpha son of the king from his favorite Odalisque and Adrien Antias is the five-year-old alpha son from his other odalisque.

The king promised his people to reveal who will be the crown prince of the kingdom after ten years which is why nobody knows who the crown prince is but the king.

The king jumped in happiness when he got to know that his sons were alphas and he felt relief as if all his problems ended. He organized the biggest celebrations for both of his alpha sons and when their birthdays come he arranges a huge celebration in the whole kingdom just like the one he did when they were born.

Whereas Octavius doesn't get any celebrations, but his mother makes sure to bake a cake for him on his birthdays and give him a lot of gifts which is why his mother became the only important person to him and she was more than enough for him. She was able to replace the love of everyone just so that Octavius won't feel the need for anyone's love and she definitely succeeded.

"Well done, Arthur, and you too Adrien. Good job. Now come here and give your father a hug." Said the king of Vredrivia to his two alpha sons who were in the training ground fencing with each other with wooden swords that are used to train young kids.

Both of the princes dropped their toy swords and ran to hug his majesty who passed his sword to one of the guards, the sword which every royal and minister has and keep carrying all day with them until they go to sleep before he bent down to hold both of his sons in his arms not minding the fact that his royal coat got some dust on it because it touched the ground when he bent.

Green hazel fierce eyes that belonged to the pure blood prince were emotionlessly watching them before he suddenly chuckled sarcastically and glanced at his hand that was holding a real sword after he defeated a soldier in fencing just moments ago but nobody seemed to notice this. They were all busy admiring how the two alpha princes were fencing with their toy swords.

Prince Octavius although he was just a seven-year-old omega was great at fencing, using the bow and arrow, riding horses, chess, and learning and memorizing all the rules and laws that a crown prince should know but not a lot of them do and all this was because he wanted to make his mother proud which he did and also he secretly wanted to try to get some of his father's attention but he failed since the king always focuses on his other sons and not him simply because he was an omega and not an alpha like Adrien and Arthur.

Any other normal kid would have hated his brothers for this, but Octavius was different. He was too smart for his age and he has never felt hatred toward the other princes because he knows that they had nothing to do with the king's actions.

Moreover, the king does not even allow anyone to talk or do anything for Octavius other than the queen. He only hated the king.

In fact, he despises him for treating his brother way better than him and also for the fact that his mother cries in her chamber every day because her mate sleeps with the odalisques instead of her which hurts her a lot and makes her cry.

The soldier that defeated him moments ago begged the king for hours just to allow him to train the prince on fencing. Which makes us wonder how Octavius learned everything he knows, right?

Octavius was taught by his mother, she is the one who secretly taught him how to use the bow and arrow and how to fence as well as ride the horses and she is the one who taught him about the rules and laws.

Chantal was one of the bravest princesses in her kingdom but nobody knew about this because she kept all her skills a secret just between her and the moon goddess and she decided to share them with her son who did not disappoint her at all, in contrast, he leaned everything fast and with training every day, he became better than her and step by step he became better than some soldier.

All this and he was just seven years old.
