The Bow And Arrow

+16th Century, 1567. The Vredrivia Kingdom.

Octavius, the only child of the queen and the king of the Vredrivia Kingdom and the only pure royal is sixteen years old now.

Whoosh! …. Thud!

Thwang! …. Thwap!

That was the sound of the two princes Adrien and Arthur shooting their arrows. The fifteen-year-old prince's arrow hit the target but it was far from the center and the other prince's arrow also hit the target and was close to the center.

Everyone that was watching applauded for them even the king.

So what's happening is that the king out of nowhere decided to organize this small contest between the three princes of the kingdom without telling anyone the real reason why he decided this which is why most of them infer that his majesty did this to maybe choose a crown prince but their conclusion changed immediately when they noticed the prince Octavius was there as well.

Emotionless was everything the people that were watching could see on the prince Octavius' face while waiting for him to shoot his arrow because it was his turn since the king asked the other princes to start and leave Octavius to the end.

His fierce green hazel eyes slowly moved from his bow to look at the king who was standing with some ministers and soldiers to watch them.

When the king made eye contact with Octavius he looked at the guard saying with a smirk on his mouth while his eyes were still glaring at Octavius' " Since Octavius is the oldest, move the target a bit further."

The guards ran and carried the target moving it away but the king kept telling them to put it further than this which sounded insane to all of them because the only one who can actually shoot an arrow at the target with this range is the royal archer or someone who has been training on archery for a really long time, not a sixteen-year-old kid.

They ended up obeying his order and moved the target just like his majesty asked.

The secret sarcastic smile that appeared on Octavius' face pissed off the king to the core which is why he smirked back at him and ordered " And two arrows instead of one."

The two princes looked at each other in confusion before looking at their father then their brother whom they have never talked to because of the king's orders.

The people present in the training ground gasped in surprise because of their king's request. And they felt very confused because they didn't know why the king was doing all this to the prince.

Octavius's smirk disappeared when he heard what the king said before he glanced at the table in front of him which was filled with arrows and walked closer to pick two arrows just like the king asked.

His hand that picked the two arrows stayed floating in the air for some seconds which he spent thinking.

The way he froze like this made the king feel as if he won after being pissed off by his son's smirk and the challenge that was always clear in his eyes. Opeline despises looking at his oldest son's eyes because every time he does, he feels as if his son was challenging him and this has never happened to him. Nobody has ever dared to look at him like this. He wants to break this pride and mysterious strength as well as the challenging look in his son's eyes.

The feeling of winning didn't last long and was replaced by shock when he noticed Octavius dropping the two arrows on the table and instead he picked up four.

His majesty was not the only one who was shocked, everyone that was watching felt shocked especially when the prince easily released these four arrows at the same time just to hit the center of the target.

The four arrows landed in the center of the target in a circle. This seemed not enough for Octavius because right after shooting these four arrows, he took another arrow and shoot it to hit the center of the target's center.

A confident yet sarcastic look appeared on his face before he moved his gaze from the target to his father who was looking at him in shock just like everyone else.

"Octavius, Well done my prince." His intense eye contact with his father was interrupted when he heard his mother's voice.

His gaze instantly moved away from his father and looked at his beautiful mother who was applauding and smiling happily.

His heart swelled up in happiness and joy when he finally saw his mother smiling after years of crying because of the king.

The bow and arrow that was in his hand instantly dropped to the ground as he quickly walked to his mother who cupped his face uttering " You have done a good job, Octavius. I'm so proud of you."

His face was still emotionless but he was delighted with hearing his mother saying this and the best part is that the queen already know how her son feels without needing to see his facial expressions.

Their happy moment was interrupted by the king who walked toward them saying with an arrogant voice tone " The omega queens are not supposed to come to the training ground."

The smile that was on the queen's face dropped just like Octavius' heart squeezed in pain when he noticed this.

She glanced at the king whom she still can't believe was the same person who did everything just to mate and marry her before she carefully grabbed her son's hand and both of them walked inside the palace heading to her chamber.

"Wow, Octavius is the best archer I have ever seen in my entire life."

"Yes, you are right. That was amazing. I wish we can talk to him so that he can teach us."

This was the conversation between the two princes who were so stunned and fond of how talented their brother was while they were standing next to the target which Octavius used looking at how the four arrows were around the center and the fifth one in the middle of them.

The king quickly walked to their sons and stood in front of them " He is just an omega. No matter how good he is it's still nothing. I will make both of you the best archers in the whole kingdom and teach you everything you need and desire."

Little did he know…

Guys, I'm so excited for Magnus and Octavius to meet each other.

We will see Octavius taking the throne of the Vredrivia kingdom in the next chapter.
