84 Chapter 84: Regrets

Scarlet's Point of View:

"So all this time, if I had married Max, the contract would have been invalid?" I asked, my voice coming out shocked. A million thoughts rushed across my head as I processed the words.

My dad nodded slowly. "So that's why I just wanted you to know. I know you don't have anyone in mind right now, but if that breaks the contract then I suggest that you could get married and subsequently apply for a divorce."

Even though I could sense that my father was trying to make things better for the two of us and turn things around, all I could think about was how everything changed. Looking back at every single moment now, I could see it differently. It was as if a new POV was unlcoked in my brain.

Did Xavier stop me from getting close to anyone else so I wouldn't get out of the contract? But no, he cared about me and Max was bad. That's why he stopped me. Or was it?
