8 Chapter 8 The Abandoned Mining Site

"Ladies and Gentlemen, a round of applause! This Assassin has passed the challenge!" The NPC administrator announced loudly.
System: Player Lin was the first to pass the Copper Challenge and break the estimated record. Rewarding player Lin with 1 Silver Coin and Swordsman Skill [Thundering Flash].
The players were all dumbfounded.
Their jaws dropped to the point that you can put a whole egg there.
They were totally dumbfounded…
Lyn was also similarly dumbfounded, he didn't expect to be able to receive a skill… The name sounds badass also.

''Now then, to the Abandoned Mining Site!'' Lyn was looking forward to what he will experience on his journey.
But before he could even step his foot forward, someone called out to him.
''Wait a moment!''
Lyn looked back and saw a mesmerizing young beauty with stunning curves, a beautiful face that can knock out a nation with one look, a sword hanging on her waist, and novice leather equipment equipped on her.
It was none other than Winter Snow.
''Wait.'' Seeing Lyn stopped, Winter Snow breathed out a sigh of relief, she slowed down her pace and confidently strode towards Lyn.
But as she thought that Lyn would stop and listen to her, Lyn didn't have the time to leisurely waste his time, even though she was incredible earlier, his hidden quest is now his top priority.
Not wasting a single minute or second, he hurriedly turned, ran, and ignored her.
Seeing Lyn's actions, Winter Snow's jaw dropped open in bafflement.
After a while, only did she realize Lyn ran away.

Lyn arrived at The Abandoned Mining Site.
The Abandoned Mining Site is a Level 2-3 monster area, few players come here to farm as the majority of the players are still Level 1 due to the reason that leveling up is hard, and most importantly the monsters only give 0.5 experience. So only Level 2 or 3 usually come to this place. So when they saw Lyn they cast him odd looks, thinking he was quite bold coming here as Level 1.
Lyn however ignored them. He checked his surroundings and after confirming that no one was following him nor did he see Winter Snow, only then did he breathe a sigh of relief.
''Man, that was crazy… To think she would chase me… All I did was just ignore her though since I thought it was a waste of time… Nevermind, forget it.'' Lyn looked up and glanced at The Abandoned Mining Site.
The place was full of kobolds.
They looked like a reptilian humanoid, with scales between reddish brown and black in color and burnt orange to red eyes. Their legs were sinewy and digitigrade. They had long, clawed fingers and a jaw like a crocodile. Small white or tan horns protruded from their head, and they had rat-like tails.
They totally looked like what he had seen at the official forum of Arnis.
As he looked at the kobolds, he couldn't help but gulp at the sight of their terrifying appearance.
But thinking about the rewards he would get after he finishes the quests, he gritted his teeth and gathered his courage as he slowly walked to a kobold.
When he was 10 meters close to the kobold, three kobolds detected him and they immediately became wild as they bash in on him.

Lyn hurriedly grabbed his Common Shortsword and swung it on the nearest kobold.
The other players saw what Lyn was doing, they sneered and mocked him as they mock how foolish he was coming here as Level 1.
The kobold blocked it with its sword and counterattacked with its own. The kobold managed to cut Lyn, Lyn hurriedly stepped backward as he prepared to flee, but a kobold was on his back, he looked to the side and was also similarly blocked.
The 3 kobolds formed a triangle shape formation as they prevented Lyn from fleeing.
Realizing that there was no opening, Lyn gritted his teeth as he began to calculate how he would manage to flee.
''Sh*t, these guys are too meticulous. If only I didn't drop my guard earlier this wouldn't have happe—'' He was about to say something when he saw a kobold sneering at him as if mocking him for his stupidity.
After seeing that, he totally forgot about 'fleeing' and instead it was replaced with rage and the urge to beat that kobold's face into a pig face.
Lyn clenched his shortsword tightly, after deciding what he would do, he dashed at the kobold who sneered at him, his eyes emitting killing intent.
The kobold was surprised, he thought he was just a weak prey who they could feast on, but to think he could be so bold.
He immediately became furious as he thought that Lyn was looking down on him.
It raised its sword; As Lyn closed in at the kobold, the kobold swung its sword, Lyn dodged it with ease as he sidestep and dash at the kobold swinging his shortsword with a speed illustrating his agility.
Lyn managed to land a critical hit at the kobold as he cut his neck, he followed up with a stab at the jaw, and for the finishing touch, he backstabbed the kobold.
-32 Critical Hit! -24 Critical Hit! -32 Critical Hit!
Three critical hits!
All in all. He managed to get all his attacks critical hits.
The players watching him gaped at what they saw.
''Damn, he managed to strike all its vital spots in just a short moment. Is he an expert? How come we never known of him?''
After that, the players started watching him with interest, but some did not and thought he was just lucky.
The two kobolds went into fury as they saw their fellow kin being stabbed by three consecutive hits. They rushed at Lyn with a speed that a noob at Level 1 could not handle.
"Ah, a pity, this time he's dead. He managed to provoke the 2 kobolds. Talk about seeking death."
The players shook their heads.
But their acts didn't last long, as the scene before their eyes left their mouths hanging open.
Lyn actually managed to dodge them! Not just that! He had even managed to injure them!
