To the principals office

"Lindsey Evans come here." I walked over, closely followed by Taylor. He lead us to his office where my mom and the famous Jack Whitman were sat.

"Mom?"

"Hi hon, hi Taylor." She looked sheepishly at us, "you know how this morning I was telling you how I'm not your mom." I nodded, unable to make the words come out.

"Well, this is your dad."

"Is this a joke?" I was sceptical. You can't blame me, I've only just found out that I'm adopted, and now I have a very famous dad.

"No, no honey I'm not joking."

"Ok then, who's my mom?" Why not go with it.

"Your mom is your aunt Nicole."

"Hey that's why you look like Mrs Evans!" Taylor piped up.

"Yeah that would explain it." Jack added, " I loved your aunt, mom."

"Just call her Nicole."

"Ok, well we had a child, you, but I didn't want you to be bombarded by the press. I didn't think it would be good."

"I understand." I didn't.

"Well I thought I it would be better if someone else raised you." He looked ashamed.

"Ok so I ended up with you, what should I call you guys then?"

"Umm you can call me dad or Jack I don't mind."

"And you can call me Abby to make it easier, less confusing."

"Ok." I didn't know what else to say.

"Well if that's all then you too can go back to class." We were shepherded out and handed a note explaining our absence. We walked in silence. Still processing all this new information.

I reached my class,still in a daze.

"Miss Evans, care to explain why your late?"

"Uh... Yes, I have a note." I handed over the excuse.

"Family huh. Sit down." I hurried to my seat. "And why are you late Taylor?"

"Moral support?"

"Whatever I don't have time for this, sit down." Taylor joined me at my workbench.

Finally the school bell rang. I practically ran from the classroom. I headed for the car park, as I pushed through the doors I ran to Taylor's car. She was already there waiting for me.

"Let's go!" We drove off and turned on the radio. The first song that came on was 'lovely life' by Jack Whitman

"Turn it off?" Taylor questioned. I nodded, I wasn't ready for that yet. The rest of the journey went smoothly.
