Chapter 24: The Dragon

(Xander pov)

When the dragon was preparing to release its charged breath I immediately charged towards it and jumped towards its face and gave it a nice uppercut when its breath was finally releasing

Its breath hitting the ceiling made the entire cave start to shake and it made the surroundings start to snow, and where the majority of the breath hit a gigantic ice spike formed coming down about halfway.

Bringing his face down the dragon let out a quick annoyed snort and started to run toward me, before he came too close to me I started to draw out one of the katanas I had made with my equipment.

The katana was in a black scabbard, the scabbard had a few random light blue stripes around it, the actual blade of the katana was similar to the scabbard, the only difference was that there were a few red markings on the light blue lines.

The red markings were nothing spectacular, if anything if you didn't pay close attention to it you wouldn't even be able to spot it.

When the dragon got close enough to me It picked up one of its claws and slashed it at me, seeing its claw approaching me I slashed forward with my katana to try and do some type of damage to the dragon.

Once the attacks collided I felt that the sword was trying to slide off the dragon's shiny blue scale.

Putting more strength into my attack I felt the attack trying to dig into the dragon's scales instead of trying to slide off of it now.

Feeling the pain of my attack the dragon started to retreat a little bit, and once this dragon backed away a little bit I saw that there was a slight red mark where my sword once was.

Seeing this mark on the huge dragon's body a smirk crept onto my face, looking deeper at my attack I noticed that I didn't cut deep enough for blood to start dripping.

I already tried to control the blood within the dragon's body, but because of the dragon's heart, I was unable to use the blood within its body to injure or slow it.

Standing still for a moment I noticed that the dragon wasn't going to attack me first, and since he wasn't moving I decided that I should charge him first.

Charging the dragon I decided that I should aim for the same spot again, because if I could make him bleed then I could control his blood, make him continuously bleed, and use his blood against him.

When he noticed me disappearing from my spot the dragon started to make tons of ice arrow magic and tossed them everywhere to try and slow me down.

The dragon also used blizzard magic to make itself blend in with everything and make itself hard to see.

With the blizzard magic, it used it made it hard to see previous ice arrow magic it used, and any magic it would use afterward would also blend in with the area.

Guessing on where the attacks would appear from. I started to quickly dodge left and right while running toward the dragon, once I took a few more steps forward I realized the dragon wasn't where he originally was.

Not knowing where it was, I closed my eyes and tried to see if I could smell it if I could hear it taking any steps, or if I could hear its wings flapping.

Above me, I could hear faint sounds and I could also smell some blood coming from above me.

Looking above me I decided to slice my hand and after some of my blood started to flow from my arm I tossed it up into the air and used [Link].

Once my [Link] skill hit the dragon a red outline of the dragon immediately entered my vision, and seeing where it was I jumped straight up into the air to attack it again.

Before slashing at the dragon once again I decided to coat my blood onto the blade and see if it would do any more damage than a regular slash.

Since the dragon wasn't expecting me to attack it, I wasn't prepared to dodge or block my attack either, so when my attack hit him my blade started to sink deeply into it.

Letting out an ear-piercing roar, the red outline of the dragon dramatically turned its head towards where I was and opened its mouth.

Paying attention to where its face was I tried to maneuver myself in mid-air to avoid most of the breath attack, but once I almost got away a larger object started to approach me.

Seeing it approaching me fast I put my katana in front of me to hopefully try to stop it and try to use whatever was approaching me as a way to move myself since I was still in mid-air.

Once it got close enough I realized that what was approaching me was the dragon's tail, and when we collided, its tail had more force than my attack which made me get sent flying back into the ground.

The attack didn't end there, once I was sprawled out on the ground the dragon released its breath attack on me and with that attack, my health started to drop drastically.

[Warning: User has lost 10% health]

Got this notification and realized that the combination of these two attacks from the dragon made me lose 10% of my health and if I could land this 10 times in a row then I would die.

Standing up I looked at the dragon once again and noticed that it had canceled its blizzard skill to make sure that its breath was a direct hit, and seeing the dragon it had a smug grin on its face.

"Haha, fair you did get me with that once. Now that I think about it I've only referred to you as the ice dragons so let me give you a temporary name." I said with a slight amusement and a smile unknowingly creeping on my face.

Hearing what I said the dragon looked at me in confusion as if it didn't understand what I was saying and just saw the grin that was plastered on my face.

"Hmmm, I think your name will be. Draco, hmmm no that wouldn't fit. Nigghog, hmmm no if I hear Nigghog I wouldn't think of you. Maybe Absinthe, but that name would be me assuming you're a female. Know what screw it your temporary name will be."
