44 Exploring The Base of Ainz Ooal Gown - 3

Lucian and Bukubukuchagama continued to explore the 9th floor, which was a royal suite. They visited various places, including the spa, theater, and saloon. Even the more trivial locations Bukubukuchagama wanted to show, and she eagerly showed everything to Lucian. She even took him to her room, which surprised Lucian as it was filled with pictures of his old avatar. In her embarrassment, she immediately removed them as Lucian entered her room, but he had already seen all of it. She considered logging out, but the opportunity to be with Lucian, even if it was just in the game, was too precious to let go.

As they continued exploring, Lucian encountered the homunculus maids of Nazarick, which White Brim had created in great numbers, over 30 of them were created just by him. Each maid was unique and had vastly different settings and appearence, showcasing White Brim's wild imagination as a manga artist who wrote about maids.

After spending over half an hour exploring the 9th floor, Bukubukuchagama finally teleported Lucian and herself to the 10th floor, which was also the last floor and the final stronghold of Nazarick, their guild base.

This floor essentially served as the main throne room, housing the world item that had been gifted to them, as well as the guild's treasury.

Bukubukuchagama teleported them directly in front of the throne room. She assumed Yamaiko might be busy showing her sister around. As they arrived, they stood before colossal doors that resembled the entrance to the throne room of aesir in Lucian's guild.

The massive doors were adorned with depictions of goddesses and demons. As Mizuki touched them, they swung open on their own, revealing a beautiful and magnificent throne room.

The room itself was a breathtaking masterpiece. It was expansive and high, large enough to accommodate several hundred people, with towering ceilings and walls predominantly white, adorned with intricate golden accents.

Suspended from the ceiling were numerous chandeliers, each crafted from precious stones in a dazzling array of colors, casting a fantastic and dreamlike radiance throughout the room. Along the walls, flagpoles had been embedded, displaying numerous flags adorned with different symbols, each representing a different guild member.

As Lucian entered, he looked through the many flagpoles, identifying a few that stood out due to their eccentric designs, such as those belonging to Ulbert, Takemikazuchi, Nishikienrai, Ancient One, Wish III, and Tabula.

Mizuki softly shared insights about their guild's history. "When we conquered the Dungeon and initially established the guild, it consisted solely of members from Nine's Own Goal. However, as time went on, more players joined us, increasing our number to 41. Of course, all the guild members personally talked to each new member, and they all signed the required contracts." Lucian, not very interested in the details, acknowledged her with polite nods and murmurs of agreement.

As he walked further into the chamber, with Mizuki continuing her murmured commentary, he approached the grand staircase that led to the towering throne. This huge throne seemed to nearly touch the high ceiling.

However, what caught Lucian's attention was a stunningly beautiful NPC stationed near the throne, like a guardian.

She had black hair and the face of a true beauty, arguably more attractive than other NPCs in the Nazarick. She had golden irises and vertically split pupils. Two thick horns protruded crookedly from her left and right temples, and she sported a pair of black angelic-looking wings around her waist. She was dressed in a pure white gown with silky gloves covering her slender hands, adorned with a golden spiderweb necklace that covered her shoulders and chest.

"Oh, she's Tabula Sans' NPC. He's quite a bitch; he used so many NPC storages. In fact, he invested his own money to expand the storage so he could work on it more," Mizuki quickly identified, noticing Lucian's keen interest in Tabula's creation.

"That guy is weird as always. But really, she looks pretty normal. I expected him to create the worst monstrosities with hideous personalities," Lucian remarked, his hand on his chin as he pondered her unexpectedly normal appearance.

"Hmm," Mizuki replied, never having bothered to check the story settings.

"Can I see the NPC's status?" Lucian asked, and Mizuki immediately handed him the panels without even glancing.

« She is a demoness who holds the title of Guardian Overseer, which is the highest-ranking position in the Great Underground Tomb of Nazarick. With flowing raven hair and golden pupils, her beauty could bewitch a nation. She is proud of her position and confronts intruders as a confident, dignified superior being. Regardless of how brilliant or brave her foes are, or whether she considers them strong, she will never acknowledge them as being equal to herself. This is because she understands the meaning of the position bestowed upon her. Her abilities befit the title of Guardian Overseer, with outstanding intelligence and combat ability. That said, she is not omnicompetent. For instance, in pure wits, Demiurge is her superior, while Shalltear is superior in fighting ability. Yet, nobody in Nazarick can rival her administrative ability. In addition, her feminine skills -- particularly those pertaining to being a housewife -- are excellent, and during her free time, she can be seen sweeping, sewing, and so on. Though the reason is unknown, she enjoys cleanliness and her desire for such frequently drives her to clean things up. In particular, her ability to sort out bookshelves knows no peer. However, she recognizes the possessions of others as belonging to them, so she rarely insists on cleaning up. That said, the items accumulated through her collector's habit are typically very messy. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether she actually likes being tidy. This might well be an act -- in order to appear as the perfect woman -- though the truth of that is unknown. It is too scary to confirm. She always has a gentle smile on her, and her elegant way of speech has made many people think she is a goddess or an angel. That mistake is not particularly laughable, given that she is surrounded by that sort of atmosphere and acts in an appropriate way. The fact is, it would not be wrong to view her in that way. She was originally planned to be an angel of the highest order, but she ended up with a greatly distorted appearance after being fused with a monster from the land of dreams. Because of that, her personality is similarly twisted, being merciless and cruel, cunning, and savage. She gives her enemies despair and revels in their agonizing deaths. Her usual expression seems to be there to suppress the urges which flow from her heart -- a mask which exists to conceals her desire to perform ruthless acts upon the weak. If the mask breaks, she would probably end up being like Empress Lu Zhi or Empress Wu Zetian. However, that only applies when dealing with those not of Nazarick. Fortunately for those who serve Nazarick, one can take comfort in the fact that the mask is very sturdy and will not break easily. She feels very strongly about her duties as the Guardian Overseer of the Great Underground Tomb of Nazarick. Naturally, the fact that she has ears everywhere listening for information goes without saying. In addition, she smiles all the time -- to the point where one might say she does not show any other emotion. Her smile is nothing more than a poker face to her. She can also show emotions like anger, grimaces, and fake tears. Her sophisticated lady's face will not break, even when she is torturing the fools who oppose her. She is also a bitch. »

"My god, Tabula is a fucking menace!" Lucian shouted in an exasperated tone as he read through her story setting. Her personality was interesting, but the one sentence at the end was a game breaker that brought Lucian out of his spree.

"So it was a gap moe all this time. I should've expected it, damn it!" Lucian shouted, even though it was not his NPC, he was frustrated by such an inability.

"What?" Mizuki asked, curious about what Lucian saw, but he immediately shut her off. "Nothing, nevermind. Didn't you say that Yamaiko san would be here? Shouldn't you check out whether she is online or not? I'll be here looking around," Lucian said as he pushed Mizuki away, not thinking much about it. Mizuki walked off, looking for Yamaiko in her menu and planning to send an inbox message as she saw her online.

"Sigh~ I really don't like doing it, but I hope no one finds out," Lucian said as he opened his inventory and immediately brought out an item. To be specific, a world-class item.

It was a beautiful pen with rainbow-colored feathers, shimmering with multiple colors. However, it looked as if it's burned halfway. The pen also had a vial attached to it, filled with pure golden liquid that also seemed to be only half left.

[Lexicon of Narrative Dominion]

Type: Accessory

Class: World

Description: A fallen leaf of the world tree Yggdrasil, taken by the will of the stars, and transformed into a reality-altering pen. A notion of infinite possibilities, limited only by the imagination and the ink of desire within it.

- This world item allows the «Player» to change any flavor text in the game. Note: it won't change the outcome or stats.

- This world item allows the «Player» to edit any item, NPC, guild, or anything that has a textual format and is editable.

- This item uses the Ink of Yggdrasil to write everything; the more one uses the item, the less time it will have.

- After the entire ink of Yggdrasil has been used, the item's altering effect will stop, and it will become a normal Artifact of divine class.

This was a world item that Lucian had acquired through a real-world auction on a popular Yggdrasil website where players sold player-made items to those willing to pay. It was essentially a website for selling items in the dark market, including very rarely world items. Lucian had paid just 300,000 yen for information about the item and a chance to bid on it. He outbid everyone with an initial 60 million yen, deterring any further bidders.

Lucian had already used half of the world item, expanding upon his personal NPCs and adjusting the settings of many NPCs in his guild to align with his lore, such as Valkyries and other pop-ups.

"Let's see..." Lucian said as he brought the pen closer to the status screen of Albedo. Immediately, character settings that should have been inaccessible became editable at his discretion.

Immediately, Lucian brought out a golden keyboard hovering over his hands and started typing on Albedo's settings. This brought a cringe-worthy smile to his face, though his avatar didn't display it.

"Hahah, even if you find out, you won't be able to perfect her anymore, you brain-eater bastard," Lucian said with a laugh. He closed the screen and walked back to the door of the throne room, where Mizuki was fiddling with her screen.

"Lucian! Yamaiko-san is online. I just sent her a message, and she said she's in the Star Maid room. Let's go," Mizuki said as she immediately held Lucian's hand and started dragging him towards the designated location.

After five minutes of walking, they finally arrived at their destination. Lucian found himself in a large room that resembled a royal suite, similar to the previous floor. However, this place held a lot less opulence. As Lucian entered a room marked 'Star Maids', accompanied by Bukubukuchagama, he was greeted by a group of figures. Three maids NPCs were present there, along with a very familiar Nephilim.

"Yama chan!" Mizuki shouted as she immediately ran to hug the player standing in front of the group of three maids. The figure was wearing yellow gear with chains covering its waist and had an overgrown square head. Yamaiko then turned to the slimy Bukubukuchagama and also gave her a hug.

"Kazzechi? I thought you didn't have any plans to visit the guild today," she asked, gently pushing the slimy player away.

"No! I didn't have any plans, but things happened, and look who I brought!" Mizuki said excitedly as she ran up to Lucian and wrapped her arms around him tightly, as if marking her territory.

"Sup, Yamaiko san!" Lucian said, offering a friendly greeting.

Yamaiko first eyed him up and down, observing his extremely beautiful appearance. She didn't pay much attention to it, as many players went to great lengths to beautify their characters, but his appearence was still way above everyone's. However, she couldn't help but notice his divine-class gear. What surprised her most was his voice, and she immediately felt a sense of shock as she called out his name.

"Lucian-chan?!" She exclaimed.

"Hai hai, Lucian-chan here," Lucian replied, his voice becoming more sweet and cute, as he watched Yamaiko walking right toward him.

"Lucian-chan, where have you been?" She immediately leaped towards Lucian, her massive claw-like hands scooping him up, and she hugged him, rubbing her cheeks against his face.

"First, put me down, Yamaiko-san," Lucian requested, and she obliged, setting him back on his feet.

"Are you doing fine? Is your health good? How about your studies? Have you finally started mastered those challenging math questions I talked to you about? I hope you haven't neglected in keeping your mind sharp," Yamaiko inquired with her usual enthusiastic teaching spirit.

Lucian couldn't help but feel a bit anxious as he prepared to answer her questions.

Amid their conversation, they entirely overlooked the presence of an elf player who stood slightly apart from them.

"Am I just invisible here?" She couldn't help but exclaim, watching how the three of them continued their conversation, seemingly unaware of her presence.

*****

"Hehehe... To think the sickly Lucian we once knew turned out to be such an extremely handsome young man," Yamaiko said, gazing at the image Bukubukuchagama had sent to her message inbox. It was a selfie of Mizuki and Lucian together, with Lucian flashing a peace sign.

"If you had been born ten years earlier, I wouldn't have minded taking care of you," Yamaiko teased with a giggle. Bukubukuchagama was quick to respond.

"I can take care of him too, and don't forget that Lucian already has a maid looking after him, so he probably doesn't need your care," she retorted with a pout, well aware of Yamaiko's attempts to tease her and make her jealous.

"Can we put that aside for a moment and discuss something important?" A female elf player with two earrings adorning her ear and wearing light blue armor sat down beside Yamaiko, firmly pounding her fist on the table as she demanded their attention.

"It's the LL!!! Why are you all acting like it's just some ordinary thing? You have to be living under a rock not to know about LL Phenomenon!!!" The girl vented her frustrations, her voice trembling with emotion.

"You guys are talking like it's not a big deal, but it's LL! I can't believe it's real! I just can't!!!" She continued to express her amazement and enthusiasm.

"Please, could you get me his autograph, Nee-chan? I'm begging you!!!" The female elf player asked, hiding behind Yamaiko and tugging at her.

"Akemi, as I've told you before, if you want something from someone, you should ask them yourself," Yamaiko scolded her sister gently, reprimanding her for her behavior.

Lucian, on the other hand, was slightly puzzled. "How could I give an autograph in a DMMO-RPG?" he questioned, furrowing his brow as he looked at Akemi, who was expressing her desires. He didn't want to outright refuse her request, so he chose to highlight the impracticality of such a request.

"Ah, how foolish I am! Why didn't I meet him in real life!" Akemi cursed herself, running her fingers through her blonde hair in frustration. She had become an ardent stan, someone who obsessively admired her idol. Akemi, a gifted player who frequently played Yggdrasil, had become one of those fans who, despite having no prior interest in guys, had fallen head over heels for this mysterious figure who had taken the internet by storm. This individual had not only captured the hearts of girls but also men, and Akemi was among the many who had been smitten.

"Can you use the [Mark Creation] spell to mark my hand, at least?" She asked meekly, her voice trembling with a hint of shyness as she slowly approached Lucian. If it were in the real world, she would probably be blushing furiously and on the verge of fainting or having her legs turn to jelly.

"Are you sure about that?" Lucian asked, looking at Akemi. [Mark Creation] was a spell that took the EXP of the character they marked. It was done consensually by players to acquire different powers from the mark. Although any player could add any mark for cool effects, it significantly reduced their EXP bar. This meant that their 100% full EXP bar would be reduced to a mere 10%, limiting many of their abilities.

"It's fine. I have a warrior build," she assured him, extending her hand in anticipation.

"Woah, Yama-chan, your sister is totally head over heels for my Lucian. You should ask her to stay away from him. He's not a good guy," Mizuki exclaimed, sounding somewhat exasperated as if she were speaking the truth.

"Hahah, Kazzechi, when did Lucian become exclusively yours? Are you trying to imply something?" Yamaiko asked with a humorous tone, giggling.

"What? No! I mean, he's not a good guy, anyway. You shouldn't let your genius sister associate with him," she said, pouting slightly.

"Sure, sure, keep saying that," Yamaiko responded playfully.

"Let me see..." Lucian said as he held Akemi's hand, which was trembling even in the virtual world due to the presence of Lucian's in-game avatar.

"Hmm... I have something better than Mark Creation," Lucian explained as he held her hand and accessed his console, scrolling through his extensive list of abilities. He chose one that he thought would be more suitable and wouldn't affect her experience points.

"[Vice Mark]," Lucian activated the ability. His finger emitted a neon green glow as he used it to write his real name on Akemi's hand. Although the ability was mostly for aesthetic purposes, it could create visually pleasing effects.

"There you go," Lucian said as he released her hand.

"Thank you so much! LL! I'm such a big fan. I love all your exercise videos, in fact, I watch them daily! I even have a group consisting of over 500 members. I really love you!" She said as she held Lucian's hand and shook it as if it were the real deal.

"Heheh... I don't think you should be sharing how creepy your hobbies are," Lucian said as she shook his hand.

"Lucian, you don't plan on joining the guild, right?" Yamaiko asked, shifting her attention, while Akemi immediately sat down in her seat, looking at her hand and Lucian simultaneously.

"Yeah, thanks for the invitation, but I've already created a guild, and it's on its way to surpassing Ainz Ooal Gown," Lucian said with a competitive gaze.

"Hahah, sure! Bring it on. I'm willing to go head-to-head with your guild," Yamaiko said with a laugh.

"You guys are acting even weirder than Akemi-chan over there," Mizuki said, pointing at Akemi, who was lost in her own world.

"Anyway, I think I'll log off now. I've been exploring Nazarick for 6 hours," Lucian said as he got up from the golden chair and stretched his body, with Mizuki doing the same.

"Me too!" She said.

"Sure. Don't forget to talk to us, though, and remember not to do anything to get your avatar deleted again," Yamaiko said with a laugh as she also got up.

"Aahhhh! You're logging out?" Akemi asked in shock, getting up, as she hoped to learn more about Lucian through their conversation.

"Yup, if you want to talk to me, you can text me on my Twinsta. You're Yamaiko-san's sister, I wouldn't mind talking to you," Lucian said as he brought up his menu.

"Really!! Thank you!" She said with a big smiling emoji floating before her face.

"You're welcome," Lucian replied before vanishing along with Bukubukuchagama.
