Chapter 8: The Mythical Pegasus

The moment I stepped into the cave, the Pegasus has already sensed my presence even though it's so far away that I still cant see it, and it already started defending itself.

In the dark, three magical light attacks were sent to my direction, they were far away but I could see them clearly since the place is so dark and the attacks were luminous.

At first they were only three small dots but soon they started to grow because they were getting closer, unexpectedly they were reaaally really fast. But I realised this when it was a little bit too late.

One of three light attacks was aimed for my head while the other two were aimed for my chest and stomach.

I barely dodged the one aimed at my head by tilting it to the left side, but the other two were inevitable.

So my only choice as a defence was to use my dragon scales, my skin turned into a scarlet red hard dragon scales at a very fast pace. The attacks made contact with my scales that cushioned it, I still got damage but it was so little that I could easily ignore it.

I didn't even have time to turn back my skin to normal as the pegasus quickly came towards me galoping in the air and flapping its wings trying to tackle me out of the cave but at the last moment I jumped to the side dodging it and rolled on the ground.

The Pegasus continued flying out of the cave. 'It's as if it is luring me out, maybe there is something inside the cave that it dont want me to find...?'

"I'll keep playing with you for now then I will see what we got there."

I quicky ran out of the cave to find the pegasus galoping high in the sky making a big wide U turn and it fired a laser white attack from its horn like superman's eye laser but it was white to my right creating big explosions and vibrating the whole mountain.

I tought it actualy missed me but the Pegasus turned its head slowly towards me resulting in a continuous series of explosions that was getting closer to me. I knew if that thing touched me I would be in a very bad shape afterwards so I created a fire sphere surrounding all of my body to protect me from the incoming attack.

*BOOM* *BOOM* *ZZSSH* *FWOUSH*

When the two magical skills collided it created weird sounds and strong shock waves that cleared the vicinity around us from trees and vegetation.

"Now it's my turn to attack!" I streched both my arms to the sky and used one of the skills I developped thank to my loyal Steve.

"NEBULA BLAST!"

The flames sphere kept growing bigger and bigger eating everything that touched it. It seemed as if it was consuming the things around it to grow.

It kept getting bigger until it became 45 meters big, it was close to eat the pegasus as well but the beast flapped its wings to create a very strong gust of wind that put out the fire at once.

'Fuck! My fire is still too weak... I will have to rely on my sword and fighting capabilities.'

I called upon my sword taking it out from the storage space ring, unsheathing it I threw the sheath back into the ring and took a stance.

I stood tall and mighty, ready to face the Mythical Pegasus in a close range combat. The pegasus stood before me, its wings fluttering as it prepared to launch its attack. I called upon the power of fire, and my sword began to glow with wild fiery red flames.

I rushed forward towards the pegasus, and the pegasus unleashed its magic light attacks against me. I deflected the light with my sword, and fired back with my own flames swinging the katana around. The battle continued as I and the pegasus continued to exchange attacks.

But the pegasus was fast and agile, and managed to evade much of my attacks. The fight became intense and the stakes were high. The pegasus unleashed its full power and bombarded me with its light attacks. After a while I was starting to get exhausted but still determined to fight on.

But at the same time the Pegasus was reaching its limits in terms of mana, while I was doing a combinasion of physical and magical attacks, the beast was only using magical ones since its all it got in its arsenal resulting in it consuming tons of mana compared to me.

Finding the perfect opportunity after tiring the beast, I raised my sword and prepared to deal the final blow. Unleashing my final attack, and with all my might landed a powerful blow to the Pegasus heart. The pegasus fell to the ground, or at least what was left of it. Our fight destroyed most of the mountain and the cave was not a cave anymore.

Finally I stood victorious my sword still glowing with fire boiling the blood on it to evaporation. I felt my heart pounding with victory and relief. I looked up at the sky, and saw the clouds parting and revealing the sun, shining upon the land. I was tired but satisfed and proud of my achievement. The mythical pegasus was defeated, and I knew that at this moment my legend would begin.

The beast's body disapered and left behind it the necklace I risked my life for. It was the first time since the beginnig of the game that my HP was lower than 45%.

YOU SUCCESFULLY LEVELED UP! YOU ARE NOW LEVEL 35.

"Oh my god finally! I was having a hard time leveling up, I was stuck at level 34 for a while now I really feel now that my hard work is paying off."

I walked to the necklace picked it up from the ground, I checked it out and wore it, at that moment the necklaces description appeared in front of my face.

The Freedom Necklace: One of the weakest world Items. This is the necklace that allows its owner to fly without the shackles known as the laws of physics and without obeying the laws of nature. The speed of the traveling movement while flying using this necklace is half the maximum speed of the bearer. For example if the owner can run at a speed of 100 km/h then when flying using the necklace the bearer will be able to travel at a speed of 50 km/h.

"OH MY FUCKING GOD! IT WAS A WORLD ITEM ALL THIS TIME!!?... Holy shit, whoever speard the informations about the pegasus and it's drop is a complete moron." I chuckled at my luck.

Suddently an annoucemnt has been made public to all players. Every player online in the game received the same message.

ANNOUCEMENT TO ALL PLAYERS, THE MYTHICAL PEGASUS HAS BEEN SLAIN BY THE DRAGON PLAYER 'Viriako'!

This annoucement will change many things in the future, but this will come later. Right now, after this annoucement was made I had another message on my screen but this time I was the only player to actualy receive it...
