Chapter 11: World Enemy [2]

The plan was to shoot the phoenix with water attacks first since its vulnerable to water, the we will send small fry first to distract it while the high level players will attack.

This is exactly what we did. Four players walked up to the front did a chant and four huge water balls formed and were shot to the phoenix who was still sleeping in its cage.

Unexpectedly, and against everyones expectations the water balls couldnt even get close to the beast, instead they evaporated 15 meter around it. At that moment the beast opened its eyes and the fire cages opened.

People became nervous as the pheonix made its way outside the cage, it extended its wing and started flying.

"Everyone stick to the plan, we will proceed just like we prepared! GOOOO!" And just like the plan the low level guild memebers went first.

The fire beast noticed their presence and burnt the whole forest with its flames. It became harder to see because of the smoke but nonetheless the players didn't back out.

The phoenix finally made it first move and sent a fire wave burning everything around it. The low level players attacks were pointless since they did very little to no damage at all and they all died in the first attack.

I stood before the huge fire phoenix, its flames crackling and its wings fluttering in the air. I glanced at my fellow warriors, nervous but ready for the fight.

The phoenix let out a loud howl and its eyes darkened as if to mock the players who were easily defeated by it earlier, and it started to unleash its powerful and deadly flames.

The fire swept across the ground, everyone scrambled or ran away to dodge the flames but I stood there unfazed since flames dont affect me at all. I glanced at my fellow warriors, and they were doing their best to dodge the flames and stay at a safe distance.

'It looks like my flames wont affect him too and I am the only one who actualy can fight it closely...'

"Everyone I will go closer to fight the Pheonix, I will trust you to attack it and slow it down for me from distance!" I told the 15 people left.

The fire phoenix continued to lash out with its flames, and everyone continued to dodge and weave through them.

Ainz being an undead, the enemy of the living activated his evil aura that gives debuffs to everyone and drains life enermy, fortunatly we were in the same party so friendly fire was desactivated.

I let out a loud battle cry and lunged at the phoenix in a blur. My sword cut through the air, and I was able to land a few powerful blows against the phoenix. But the phoenix was incredibly strong and resilient, and it quickly recovered and launched more powerful flames at me and my fellow warriors.

It noticed that its flames were ineffective against me so it started distancing itself from me targeting the others.

Me as well I came to the conclusion that the phoenix had some sort of pain resistance or physical attacks nullification so hitting it with my katana anymore would be useless.

I put away the katana inside the storage space and instead I took out my new great sword I bought in an exotic event.

Its the String Great Sword, a very strong great sword with fire affinitie as well as magic blockage it mean that magical attacks get absorbed in it, 'Its similar to Asta's swords from black clover'.

Creatures made from magical attributes are no exception to this sword powers. I bought it for 100 000 thousand gold which id equivalent to 20K dollars.

I also put on the Freedom necklace to be able to fly and better fight against the phoenix. Flying behind the phoenix who was targetting the other players I found that they were surrounded by flames, and the heat was slowly consuming them.

But they continued to fight on, even though many died Ainz and the boys did great against it and managed to decrease it's HP significally.

We also had to stop the fire phoenix from destroying the region since it would affect our rewards importance.

I gritted my teeth, tightened my grip around the hilt of my sword and swung my sword harder. The beast thought that this swing would be like the others, pointless and with no effect but it was wrong.

The attack did a great damage on the monster and if earlier the Phoenix didn't even bother dodging my attacks, now, and after actualy getting hurt, it started dodging all my attacks desperatly which created an oppening for the other to land long range attacks on it.

The phoenix let out another chirp, this one was a painful one and the flames grew even taller and hotter.

Suddenly, I heard a loud shout from one of my fellow player, and I turned to see that one of us had been engulfed in flames and was down on the ground. I turned back to face the phoenix and tried to get back into the fight but the shouts didn't stop.

The heat burnt most of the surviving player only leaving Ainz, touch-me, ulbert and herohero but all of them were in a pretty bad shape.

I could barely see through the thick smoke and flames but I managed to notice my friends suffering and barely able to resist the heat so I quickly took out high level healing potions and threw it at them.

Suddently out of the smoke the pheonix came at me like a bullet train. It took advantage of that moment of inattetion to grab tightly my face and flew with me in its paw.

After taking us away from the previous battle ground it dragged me on the ground at fast speed with its weight making it even more painful.

"Aghhh! FUCK! My HP is dropping!" I cried trying to free myself.

HP: 39,000/75,000

I placed the sword's hilt in my mouth to free my hands and grabbed the phoenix's paws. Applying strengh I broke both of them resulting in my escape from its hold finaly.

*Hufff... Hufff...Haahhhh*

I was on my knee taking long breaths to recuperate. Now I am all alone no one is going to come in to help so I got to deal with the rest my self.

"Let's check how much it still has in health" Looking above the monsterns head I clearly saw its HP.

HP: 39,000/147 000

'So it still has the same HP as me, and both of us use and resist fire. So its either me or you!' I tought determined to kill this monster right here right now.
