Ch 5: Me and Them/ Notice

The following story Overlord: My Empire will be coming back, as well as a new story...

For those wondering why this story stopped updating was a combination of me being busy but also the lack of planning that went into this book. The story will be officially coming back in mid-August for those wondering, and with me now having an idea of what to write and what Rudra's empire will be I hope to make everyone enjoy this book.

For the other book I'm working on the first chapter should be out on July fourth which will be the same day I will be leaving. Don't worry I have chapters planned to release for the two weeks I am away, it will be three chapters a week but the reason I'm writing that story is to get me ready for this one that needs justice. So to all readers that are still here and have waited, I thank you as well as other authors that gave me encouragement to come back and write, to new readers I hope you enjoy;)

Three weeks had passed since Rudra had named Ruby, after all the events he made her his personal guard as the power she held could only be described as tremendous. It felt like every day she was growing stronger and surpassing all the other demons with ease, the only one who still stood tall was Dagris as his pride as a Demon Duke was on the line.

Rudra would notice the tension every time they came across each other or were in the same room, it was actually hard not to as Ruby still had little control over her powers and would sometimes leak her magical power by accident and heat up the area around her. It was easy to say that she was still a novice when it came to magical control and efficiency and that Dagris surpassed her when it came to skill.

Rudra began to look at the two like children fighting over the right to be his favorite or something. He had seen it plenty of times in comics and shows but was still surprised by the reality of it. As Rudra overlooked the reports he got from Dagris, and the progress of the demons with constructing the camp he began to think about his next move.

Rudra did not want to lose the incredible power he held right now, he was definitely one the strongest beings on the continent and would not easily be defeated.

His only problem was the amount of mana he had in him, his human body just couldn't contain enough mana for him to use skills to their fullest, also there was the fact that almost everyone in the world either had immortality or a regeneration factor and couldn't easily be killed.

He needed more mana and a stronger body, even with the incredible skills he had that was Harvest Lord, he couldn't create skills out of thin air. Every time he made a skill it required enormous amounts of mana that he would struggle to produce, he felt so tired and exhausted. And this showed with Ruby after he made a soul corridor which was painful at the least.

His body just couldn't handle the power of the skill, Rudra knew that his options for fixing this problem were limited at the moment, but it was still such a pain to deal with.

Things like becoming monsters were out there but Rudra had grown fond of his new body and wasn't crazy about switching his race entirely, the real question Rudra had was how would he go about the whole thing anyways.

But of course, as any human would normally do he left this matter for later and begin to worry about other problems in his mind.

The thought of gaining more power was something that had been in Rudra's mind since he first came to this world. With the power to create skills and give them with no limit besides his own soul's power as well as mana Rudra was in a position of power without a doubt.

[Baharuth Empire]

Leuventer always believed in thinking through things immensely whether it was his own breakfast or a fight to the death he believed that everything should be carefully thought through and never rushed.

It came from his father who was an adventurer when he was young but he had sadly passed when Leuventer was only eleven. But one thing his father instilled into him was if you are good at something never do it for free.

When he took the quest to join the thirteen heroes never did he think about saving or helping them when in battle, but he also thought that he was more than ready. He found out just how wrong he was when they encountered their first evil god, the being was hidden in an old castle on the eastern side of the continent where it had amassed an army of demons and insect creatures. There were so many skilled and talented knights that had joined them, one of them was a friend of Leuventer. When they walked into the castle's throne room there was a swarm of the demon's insects, hundreds of them were drooling and ready to fight.

Leaveunter had prepared himself for this, he knew a battle like this would happen, a battle that looked pointless with insurmountable odds against them. But as Baharuth's knight commander, he was no doubt their strongest warrior in the empire and needed to hold his own against these monsters, Leuventer of Black Ice was a name that was feared in this world and four a good enough reason at that.

When the battle ended Levuenter laughed, looking at the once beautiful castle covered in dead bodies Levuenter knew this was only the beginning and deep down knew that those knights were never going to last long. All the knights were dead, each and every one of them had families and friends but now they were nothing more than flesh on the ground. This was the moment Levuenter knew he and the heroes were humanity's only chance at surviving this quest of death.

[Rudras Camp]

With the ideas now folding through Rudra's head of how to increase the strength of his forces he didn't just want to sit around and do nothing. Walking outside Rudra made his way to the storage building where wood and rocks were being transported by the demons, he took his seat and began to remake the materials.

Rudra sat there for a couple of hours playing around with his abilities trying to think about what to do, he thought about skills in the world of Tensura (That time I got reincarnated as a slime) but also the ones in other worlds. Even here in Overlord, Overlord was no doubt a strong world but with limitations on skills and magic, it was just so trying to find loopholes. Rudra had already created multiple skills such as Remake, Degenerate, Satanic Summoner, Rising Star, and, Emperors Ambition. Rudra began to activate the Emperor's ambition and generate more mana from inside of himself, his mind began to think about all the abilities and skills from his previous life when he finally found something. A smile crept onto his face and he grasped his hand, soon enough it was created.

What he had just created were the skills that would soon truly become ultimate, with Rudra's mind racing he activated Emperor's ambition once again and generated more mana from inside himself. Soon enough he also activated Degenerate and began the process of synthesis on the two skills Rising Star and the newly created one Evolutionary.

Rudra laid back onto his wooden chair and smiled, the amount of energy that had taken was too much. He was exhausted yet again from the process of creating skills, but it was worth it to do all this as now he could finally rest. Rudra touched the chair and activated remake and turned it into a golden-like substance, as he did this he activated Biogenesis as well and began to turn what used to be a chair into a cacoon.
