OverLord: Guild Wars

We all (probably) know OverLord and its history. But what if, in addition to Momonga and his guild, more Guild's were also transported to the New World? Would there be unity......or war for supremacy? ----------- I don't own OverLord. The cover is not mine. Updates will be mostly random. Extra TAG's: OPMC. AU.

----------

The Adventurer's Guild is an association formed by adventurers that operates all over the world.

Their only objective is to fight for the preservation of humanity as a whole, therefore, the adventurer's guilds always refrain from participating in inter-human conflicts.

The Adventurers Guild in the royal capital of Roble Kingdom was quite large, much larger than branches in other parts of the kingdom, its interior looked like a large pub, where adventurers drank, chatted, played, and exchanged information, as well as there was a more separate space for the bureaucratic part, where the quest board and the Guild attendants were.

Since being an Adventurer didn't need a qualification, only needing to pay an entry fee and be literate, the guilds were usually full of adventurers both veterans and newbies who aspired to gain riches and fame.

However, the once noisy guild fell silent when the sound of doors opening was heard.

Eve, Lin, and Lily entered the guild, with Eve excitedly leading the way.

Everyone looked confused at the three, they could understand the blonde woman in red armor, who was probably an adventurer from another branch or mercenary, but what were a maid and a little girl doing there next to her? They wondered.

Eve looked around curiously, she couldn't believe she was in a real Adventurer's Guild!

'Umu! It's exactly how I thought it would be! It's really exciting!' Eve thought.

Coming out of her daze, Eve looks for an attendant and, upon finding one near the quest board, she immediately goes to her with Lin and Lily following behind.

Eve makes it to the counter, but as it was too big for her, she had to stand on tiptoe to get a word with the guild attendant, who was looking at her with some amusement.

''Ara! Do you need something, little one?'' The receptionist asks with a sweet smile.

The receptionist was a woman with long brown hair tied in two buns, she had droopy eyes and an aura of maturity; on her uniform, there was a rectangular metal brooch that showed the name, Clara.

The receptionist, Clara, would never expect to see such a cute little girl in a place full of smelly brutes that she need to deal with every day, it was a pleasant surprise.

Eve looked at her blankly and said bluntly, ''Question: What are the requirements for me to register as an adventurer?''

The receptionist widens her eyes, surprised by Eve's sudden question, and nearby adventurers who overheard even spit out their beer, thinking that Eve's question was ridiculous.

''E-Erm, excuse me, honey, but how old are you?'' The receptionist asked.

That question hit Eve like thunder.

'Now that I think about it, what is my age?' Eve thought in shock.

If it was in her past world, she would have been twenty-five that year, but now, she's Eve, an Automaton who can live forever, but the question is: How long has 'Eve' been around?

''Missy? Are you okay?'' The receptionist calls Eve, who seems to be in a trance.

''Reply: Eighteen....'' Eve whispered.

''Sorry, what did you say? I couldn't hear you.''

''Reply: I said, I'm eighteen years old!'' Eve proclaimed.

In Eve's reasoning, if there was an age limit, it would probably be between fifteen and eighteen, and wanting to be on the safe side, she decided to say she was eighteen, but Eve had forgotten one very important fact.

The receptionist looked at Eve doubtfully, ''I'm sorry to say this, but aren't you too short to be eighteen?''

Eve is again shocked by what the receptionist had said. She had forgotten that she now looked like a child of at least fourteen to fifteen at most.

''Question:.....Is there any age limit?'' Eve asked, depressed as she realized that she was now small in all departments.

''Not really, normally if a kid wants to join they must be at least twelve years old, but that's a phantom rule, not an official rule, but it still exists because it would be very inhumane to let kids younger than twelve venture out around in dangerous places.'' The receptionist explains.

'So at twelve years old, a person can already become an adventurer? Isn't it a very young age?' Eve thought confused.

Noticing Eve's confused look, the receptionist giggles and explains, ''The minimum age is twelve, but there is also a catch within it. You see, to register as an adventurer, a person would need to fulfill two requirements, first, they would need to pay a registration fee. An adventurer who doesn't have money for the entry fee doesn't have money to buy equipment, this is a way to stop desperate people from joining, which almost always leads to their deaths, and also helps with the guild economy. The second requirement is to be literate. The adventurer needs to know how to read and write, both to read the quest board and to sign the documents necessary to accept a quest. These two requirements make it nearly impossible for twelve-year-olds to join the Guild.''

'I see, so this is how it works.' Eve thought.

''Order: In this case, I would like to register as an adventurer, please.''

''Are you sure you want to become an adventurer, honey? You look like a noble, seeing as how clean you are and how you dress in expensive fabric dresses, why do you want to get into such a dangerous business?'' The receptionist asked worriedly.

''Reply: Don't worry, I'm strong, and besides, I'm not alone,''

The receptionist looks behind Eve and sees Lin, who was standing behind her like a protective wall. With just one look, Clara knew that this woman was strong.

''about my reason.....it's not your problem.''

Clara sighs in defeat, and smiles, ''Alright, you won. I have neither the right nor the power to stop you. That said, to register, you need to pay five silver coins for the registration fee, and five copper coins for the literacy test, do you have that money with you, honey?''

Eve nodded, and without anyone noticing, a gold coin appears in Eve's hand, then she places it on the counter in front of the receptionist.

''Question: That's enough, right?''

The receptionist looks at the gold coin and gasps, she quickly takes the coin and puts it away.

''Honey, don't go around showing that much money!'' The receptionist said, scolding Eve.

Clara sighs with a tired expression, ''Wait here, I'll get your change. And you mercenary in red armor, keep an eye around, someone might have seen this.'' She says with a serious expression to Lin.

Eve tilts her head, confused.

'Did I do something wrong?' She thought.

----------

A few minutes later, Clara returns carrying a fat bag of coins in both hands.

''Here is your chance. One hundred and ninety-four pieces of silver, and eight pieces of copper.'' Clara said as she placed the heavy bag in front of Eve.

''It's better if your bodyguard carries this, that is if she can be trusted. And be careful on the way out, there are many bad adventurers out there who might try to steal that money from you.'' Clara whispered to Eve.

Eve looked startled at the large bag full of coins.

She could already feel several sharp eyes on her back, probably because of the bag of money. Unfortunately, any possible bad situation that happens in the future involving money will be entirely her fault.

'Yeah, I made a mistake.' She thought resolutely.
