Unexpected rewards

[ Doyle's POV ]

[ High Infernal Tree-Demon Has been defeated! ]

[ Due to being the first player to clear the dungeon { Magma Garden }, the dungeon's treasure chest will now offer equipment with item levels up to 10-20% higher than usual! ]

*Ding*

[ Requirement met! Due to solo clearing the dungeon { Magma Garden }, An additional reward will be given along with the dungeon reward! ]

I watched as the boss's death animation ended slowly. Efficient and beneficial. That's all I can say about this dungeon run. From the very beginning I had already planned to get rid of the unfortunate players that ended up in my party, it was the reasoning behind me looking for a manipulable group. No one knew each other so there was no trust between anyone, this made deceiving them even easier. Pft- hahaha… man I see how Luci★Fer feels after a successful prank, Ahem- is he rubbing off on me?

Anyway, entering the dungeon I started to think about how I was going to deal with the others, multiple plans ran through my mind as we traversed. Along the way I seen that the guy, { CrimsonSword }, was using some kind of item that sensed the monsters in the dungeon so I tried to make it harder for him by taking it away. I used a illusion spell to make a monster appear and ambush him. His item only picked up on monsters so it wouldn't alert him about my illusion however he seemed like an experienced player so I decided to call him and take his attention off the path we were going. I made it much more believable by casting another illusion on him that made it seem like he lost HP.

It ended up working and I easily replaced his item with a decent sized rock. Of course it was cloaked in a illusion, however this still didn't get him killed. You see, I didn't want to kill any of them directly since it would definitely give me a penalty, which was pretty annoying. Luckily I got that chance when we reached that wooden bridge. I decided to get rid of the healer since she was the only one who could actually cast healing magic, the others would have to result in using Health potions to replenish HP. Honestly I didn't expect her death to go so well with the group, it was all thanks to that tank with the red hair. The ninja guy seem sorta suspicious of the situation but even he just brushed it off, probably because we were at the boss room already.

The rest was pretty obvious, I faked my death and let the boss do all the hard work. The last surviving two of the party actually surprised me with how close they came to beating the boss, but I couldn't let them complete that. I still ended up getting the player killing penalty in the end but the boss was already at 2% health which was literally one tap away from death so it was no biggie. In the end I leveled up three times from those three kills.( The two players and the boss)

It's most likely due to my title, plus the cash item I used when we first entered the dungeon, not to mention the 10% bonus we got for being the first to enter the dungeon. When they all stack it boost to about 110% boost in EXP gain. I guess the boost also applied when killing the players as well as the boss. The best part though, is that after I got rid of the rest of the party and beat the boss, the game counted this as me beating the dungeon solo. Honestly I hoped this would happen but in my mind chances were low since in most games as long as a player got a hit on the boss they were always counted as apart of damage taken by the boss even if they died, but I guess it doesn't work that way here?

Now with the boss finally gone a chest with lines of lava decorated on top of it appeared where the boss used to be. I walked up and opened the chest, inside were two items.

The first item I grabbed was a legendary item called { Magma's Attunement }. It was in a data crystal form obviously but it's abilities were that it highly increased Magic attacks of the fire element. Additionally it also had the ability to create and summon the branch attacks that the boss used during the fight. In my opinion this would probably be a good staff or wand of some sort. I'm not one to use wands though so I'll probably just use it's data crystal for materials for a better weapon.

The second and last item I got was a item called { Mask Of the Dead }. This item wasn't a data crystal which surprised me, most items- well mostly everything in this game is dropped in its data crystal form. This is to give players the freedom to boost its class to a higher class, to customize the item's appearance or use, and/or to use the 'said' data crystal as materials for another item.

[ Mask Of the Dead ]

~This mask has witnessed countless friendships and betrayals. Witnesses have stated that when this mask is in possession of a someone they start to see people who were once thought of to be dead.~

Item's Use: The mask can 'Store' the faces of up to 5 individuals after a death is witnessed the wearer can choose to replace an old face with the newly deceased.

------------------------------------

The mask itself is of the legendary class and it's has zero notable features or designs, It's a plain white mask. Oh… this can come in handy for sure! I'll definitely be using this in the future.

After claiming my two rewards the chest in front of me broke into millions of white particles and dissolved then a white portal appeared to the left of me. As I was about to walk towards the dungeon something clicked in my mind and I turned around and looked towards the ground. Hahaha! How could I forget about the items that the players dropped after dying? I joyfully and swiftly hoarded the items that littered the ground from the fallen party members, unfortunately I couldn't get any of the girl's items since she died in the lava but whatever. With nothing else to do here I changed back to my original ghost body and touched the portal. I appeared outside in the front of the dungeon where the entrance was.

~A week later(in the game)~

{ GateKeeper }: ~Ghost, we just found another dungeon that you can go to after your done with the one your currently doing.~

{ Ghost }: ~Im done with this dungeon already so just send over the location. Make sure that it's a dungeon that no one explored.~

It's been about a week now in game since I completed my first dungeon run. Since then I have already done about 5 dungeons, well now 6 if we're counting the dungeon I just completed some seconds ago. With the help of the 'Three Burning Eyes' guild, I have been able to find multiple dungeons. I've only been targeting dungeons that haven't been explored since they are the most rewarding. Explored dungeons are only useful in farming EXP or for certain materials.

{ Gatekeeper }: ~Haha... I really haven't met a player that is so power-hungry, I mean you have completed 6 dungeons already, aren't you tired? The guild leader has stopped all of our members from doing anything other than looking for hidden dungeons.~

{ Ghost }: ~Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. As long as you continue finding me dungeons I'll continue paying you guys.~

{ Gatekeeper }: ~*Sigh* Whatever you say. I'll send over the location for the next dungeon but that going to be it for today, we all need our sleep after such a hard day. I'll message you with more details about other dungeons tomorrow.~

{ Ghost }: ~That makes sense. See you tomorrow then~

After getting the location of the dungeon I exited the messages and touched the white portal that took me to the entrance of the dungeon I just completed. I looked at the location of the dungeon and saw that it's located back in Niflheim. This is good, since I'm going back there I might as well check the celestial uranium's progress. It's been some time since I've left it to sit in the hut I put next to the mine.

Saying this I casted a flying spell and flew to the 'checkpoint' of the Muspelheim. Each world in YGGDRASIL had a 'checkpoint', which was basically a large scale teleporter that teleported the player to the other worlds. It was theoretically possible to manually fly from one world to another but, due to the size of each world being 3x the size of Tokyo that was not something I planned on doing.

Now in Niflheim, I flew to where I hid the mine and my hut. Along the way, I decided to allot my status points I got while leveling up.

|—————————————————————|

My job classes have been growing slowly but recently I had decided to dabble in craftsmanship only because of my crafting ability was very low. Early in the game I had gotten very lucky and crafted my first and only divine item which is my ring however even now I still have no idea how it actually worked. Without a production class, a player would normally be terrible in any sort of item creating or designing. I guess that it was a bug in the early days or maybe it had something to do with the goddess, regardless I had made it a goal to get at least on production class, and what better class other than a craftsman. This will help me in item creation in the future.

Additionally recently I had gotten a class advancement quest for sage. After completing that quest I was rewarded with the 'great sage' class. Similar to the sage class this class enlarged the number of spells I could use. It boosted the number of spells I could use once reaching level 100, now to 900. My two classes along with the cash item I used when the Cash Item Shop released made this possible.

I have also maxed out my racial class 'Phantasmal eternal' and was rewarded with a new racial class called 'Void Entity'. You'd be surprised what spells came with this class. This class also allows me to dabble in space/time magic along with some cases of instant death magic. This shows just how overpowered the ghost class can get. Other racial classes could have been picked over this such as 'Spectral Being' but I decided to go with this.

Closing my status I finally seen that I was reaching where the mine was. I quickly landed and broke the illusion I set to block anyone from finding this place. Entering the hut the first thing I saw were that all of the celestial uranium was gone, in it's place was a rainbow colored ball that looked like diamond. Walking closer I picked up this diamond ball and what I read made my non-existent virtual heart beat.

[ Caloric Stone ]

Ha...hahahaha! Looks like decided to drop by at the perfect time!

We’ve finally reached 15 chapters! If you haven't already I would really appreciate a review. Anyway Enjoy. <3
