83 Chapter 76: Greed Kings I

Hougan took a deep breath before elaborating on the situation to the rest of the Greed Kings gathered around the round table.

"According to the information from our spy, Kikotenshin Nekonyan believes that a new player, a fellow human from their world, has entered this realm. This revelation has stirred up the human players, prompting them to send an emissary to the Re-Estize Kingdom for the annual recognition program. They aim to investigate the validity of this information and possibly establish contact with the newcomer."

A murmur of speculation and concern spread among the Greed Kings. The idea of a new player entering their domain brought both anticipation and anxiety.

Bors, with his insect-like appearance, raised his concerns. "Why would a new player come here? If this is true, it could disrupt the delicate balance we've maintained."

Hougan nodded, acknowledging the gravity of the situation. "Indeed, this raises many questions. We need to tread carefully. The human players, just like us, possess formidable power, and their arrival could upset the established order. We must assess the situation and decide how to proceed."

Leo, the Werelion, expressed his thoughts with a growl. "If they are here to challenge our supremacy, we should crush them before they become a threat. We won't allow anyone to jeopardize what we've built over the years."

However, King Bors, ever the strategist, interjected, "Rushing into a confrontation may not be wise. We need more information. What are their intentions? Are they here to conquer or coexist? We should send someone to observe and gather intel before making any decisions."

Hougan agreed with Bors's pragmatic approach. "Bors is right. We should send a representative to the Re-Estize Kingdom, not only to monitor the human players but also to assess the situation from a diplomatic standpoint.

The Greed Kings deliberated further, weighing the risks and benefits of various courses of action. The decision to send a representative was unanimous, but the choice of who to send became the next point of discussion.

After much debate, they settled on Milford, the war enthusiast among them. "Milford, you will represent us in the Re-Estize Kingdom. Gather information, assess the situation, and report back. Do not engage in unnecessary hostilities unless provoked," Hougan commanded.

Milford, eager for action, nodded. "Understood. I'll bring back valuable information, and if it comes to it, I'll make sure our dominance is asserted."

As the meeting concluded, the Greed Kings dispersed, each contemplating the implications of this new player's arrival. The delicate balance that had kept Nazarick's supremacy unchallenged for centuries now faced an uncertain future. The chessboard of the New World was once again in motion, and the Greed Kings prepared to make their moves in this unexpected game of power and intrigue.

After Milford left the Hall, Leo asked a question to Bors and Hougan.

"Was it wise to send Milford to collect information on the enemy? You should know that he'll lose control over his beastly instincts. You could send Layfire to do the same. He's the best among us at using stealth." Leo said he was followed by Layfire.

"Yes, you could send me. You do know that I am a Camelion. Assassination and information gathering is my speciality. The only reason why I didn't intervene was because both you and Hougyan seemed to have something in mind. So care to tell us what it is." Layfire said.

Bors exchanged a glance with Hougan, weighing the words carefully before responding. "Leo, Layfire, we understand the risks with Milford, but he has a unique connection to the enemy. We need his insights. As for our plan, it's intricate, involving misdirection and diversion."

Hougan added, "Sending Layfire might tip our hand prematurely. Milford's uncontrollable instincts, though risky, might provide an unpredictable advantage. We'll need your support, Leo, to ensure things go smoothly."

Bors spoke, "Milford's instincts may be wild, but his unique abilities make him the ideal choice for this mission. We need information swiftly, and his connection with the beasts could prove advantageous."

Leo, skeptical, crossed his arms, "But at what cost? Our troops are not prepared till now we need at least a week to arrange our army orderly."

Hougan, the silent observer, finally spoke, "There's a method to our madness. We've discovered a hidden alliance among the Great Gods, and we aim to exploit the growing discontent within their ranks."

Layfire's eyes narrowed, "You're playing with fire, and I'm not just talking about the dragons. What's the endgame here?"

Bors leaned in, revealing a map marked with intricate symbols, "Our plan is to create chaos, sow discord among the Great Gods, and manipulate their internal conflicts. It's a risky move, but it could tip the scales in our favour."

Leo sighed, realizing the magnitude of their gamble, "And Milford is the key to this intricate plan?"

Hougan nodded, "Precisely. His uncontrollable nature may create the chaos we need. Layfire, your skills will be crucial for intelligence gathering and maintaining the delicate balance."

As they discussed their strategy, shadows danced across the room, mirroring the hidden machinations at play. Layfire remained cautious, "This is a dangerous path. We're toying with the very forces we can't control."

Bors met Layfire's gaze, a glint of determination in his eyes, "Sometimes, desperate times call for daring measures. We must be willing to confront the storm to control its direction."

"For how long do we have to do these simple mind games with the Fake Gods? It's been over two centuries now and still, we are only able to conquer half of the world. And now some new player has come to jeopardize our conquest. If we keep waiting any longer then all our dreams will be thrown into a waste bin."

*sigh* "You do know what will happen if fail right." Asked Layfire.

As Layfire's words hung in the air, the room fell into a heavy silence. The gravity of failure echoed through the minds of those gathered, each one aware of the consequences that loomed. The newcomer's arrival had disrupted their plans, and the urgency to adapt became palpable.

"We wouldn't. And we still haven't confirmed the presence of new players. Even if it's a trap, our numbers are higher than Fake God. So we will win." Bors said.

"Alright, I'll inform them about the plan. They were absent from the meeting." Layfire said. In this meeting, only five of the eight Greed Kings attended; three couldn't make it because they were too lazy to come.

"Alright and make sure their troops are ready," Hougan said.
