A wave of blue fire ripped through the air blowing the roof of the small main house. A wave of heat washed through the air blowing all the snow away and sending a chorus of yells and screams through the small village as people gathered. Staring at the main hall that had suddenly burst alight with brilliant blue flames.

At the same moment, a wave of cold air blasted through the village causing icicles to hang from the facial hair and hoods of the citizens that gathered. Staring at the house of the there leader.

Tumbling from a swirl in space and time the figure of the Ice Queen stumbled as she cursed the air before her. Patting her arm as she watched it in horror, the burns trailing up her arm weren't fading.

She had just been caught with the desperate attack and the last blast of fire, some had even been sucked through the warp with her.

Stumbling back from her the cries of terror sounded. A voice piercing through the cries in desperation seeking answers. "Eira?! What is happening? Are you okay?!" His voice was desperate as he held a hand in front of his face. Shivering from the chill that he felt creep through his body.

The sudden heat had forced most of them to back away, the house suffering major burns that charred wood and blasted holes in the roof. The thatch had gone up like a bonfire from the sudden heat.

Pushing towards he put a hand on her back as he said. "Eira?" His voice was concerned as he saw her arm, burns blotched over her arm. The frigid cold she was emitting already killing the heat but the damage had been done. The frost-bitten flesh was a gruesome mess.

Gulping as he stared at the wound he thought to himself… is he really dead?

Staring at the spot in the room where his dark skin friend had sat just a moment ago. Tattoos had been clear against his skin despite the burns that appeared and faded just moments ago, now a pile of ash.

Turning back to her he lowered her onto the floor. Laying her on her back. She was clearly exhausted, her eyelids fluttering. She was suffering the drawback of his quirk.

'Connection,' It had been the reason she had taken him in, the reason she had given him a chance. Holding her hand he kissed her knuckles as tears started to freeze against his cheeks. The cold air blew in through the holes in the walls.

Why was it her that had been called on? Why did it have to be her?

Hearing the footsteps of the people he turned to them, all their faces filled with concern as he looked over them. "She is okay, just suffering the fallback. The fire came from the warp, please go back to what you were doing everything will be okay. I promise." He said as he looked back down at her, his voice choking, he was trying to maintain people's hope but some had already seen her with their own eyes...

It was bad, being connected to someone that died? What were the effects that were not easily shrugged off?

He could connect people to each other causing their bodies to be forced to share the same state. So he had connected her to Amar, a man that had been as lost as he was before he was found by All for One, but wanting to leave that life he was allowed to leave. He had an immortality quirk… and a strong one at that.

He always connected her to him when she left so that no matter what damage she took he would suffer and then heal so she would not take damage herself. But clearly, there was a limit to even his immortality.

It had happened just a moment before she appeared. He had suddenly started to burn up. Cracks appeared on his skin as clear signs of frostbite gave way to slowly blooming heat from his core outwards.

Gritting his teeth he felt more tears start to well up, the cries had been the worst bit. They hadn't even been able to touch him in his last moments. He had screamed like hell itself was tearing through his body. And he hadn't cut the connection. He had let Amar die so that she would not have to suffer whatever that attack was.

Something so powerful that he had burnt up completely leaving nothing left. Those blue flames that rolled out of the warp gate had been hot enough to burn most of them just being near them. What monster was she fighting? What monster was going against All for One?

Looking at the others in the room. People that had enhancement-type quirks that had been casting them on Amar to give strength to her through the connection. All standing there shocked, they had never once seen her come back to this state. She was strong enough on her own normally… but even all their preparation wasn't enough.

Looking from there to the group warper Ludolf, a reedy man with pale skin and panicked eyes as he sat against the wall staring that the ash that was once someone who was 'immortal' now dead. Gone.

He remembered it. Laughing slightly, as if his body didn't know what else to do he pulled Eira's head into his lap and cradled it. Just hoping that she would be alright. The lash her mind had taken from Amar dying must have been harsh even if delayed by a moment, she had gotten out of there as fast as she could.

She would hate herself when she woke up…

Looking up he saw Amar's remains… the cracks still burnt into his vision. His veins turned blue as his immortality did nothing but slow his death which should have been instant. The ice and fire killed him painfully as Eira had clearly tried to fight the heat but had failed… freezing herself in the process…

Shaking his head he turned back to her as wails filled the broken house.

Why…

She had made this village, yes she had made it to help her do what she needed. But she still had given those that didn't have a home a place to fill safely. She had been their sword and shield. And now she was gone.

With a sombre mood settling over the village, the loss of a team member weighed heavier on those that heard it and harder on those that saw it. The unknown state of their team leader suffering drawback from feeling the death of another.

The mood of those that had felt so powerless to help…

They had tried to escape this life, it would have been her last favour…

All for One knew what she was doing and because her quirk was so hard to control he couldn't steal it himself, but he could offer her a choice, he would let her keep her friend… she had bargained her life for his one All for One had found out his quirk. But he had been benevolent at that moment if only knowing that she would be useful in the future.

They had almost escaped this life, but she had been called in. Called to pay the price that the demon king had laid upon her.

Staring up at the sky that was once more snowing, the fire having blasted away the snow for a good while. He didn't know what to do, all he could do was pray to a god that he didn't believe existed for one moment of grace. A prayer he didn't believe would be heard but desperation pushed him to the edge. What was he going to do?

The following day Nick sat on the top of a tall building looking out over the city that was shrouded in a mellow mood beneath him. His mind was lost in thought.

The public had been shaken, and not for the same reason as canon. The defeat of All for One had brought many of the horror stories that most of the public thought to be fiction to light. The horrible things he had done in previous ages.

Nick was confused about a lot of things. All Might had lost himself in rage this time, unlike canon he had given way to rage and pummeled the villain before him. He had been pushed to the edge and broke. And the public was ignoring it but it was still rattling and it would soon come to have consequences.

The 'Symbol of Peace' had beaten a 'defeated' villain with rage-filled eyes, a smile nowhere to be found. He had terrifyingly used that unmatchable power.

It didn't matter to Nick though. Taking out a small item appeared on his palm. Some of All for One's DNA condensed from the blood that he had lost in the fight. Nick had been able to isolate it as the rain started. He had gotten his goal. It was only a duplicated quirk but he could see how it helped merge quirks together.

He had put some thought into where she came from but he had come up with nothing. He hadn't been able to think of anything. It didn't make sense? Why was someone so strong out there with All for One being okay with it, then again… the world was a very big place. And with how complicated quirks were getting there were bound to be outliers. Like him for example. He was immensely strong at the age of 16. Surely he wasn't the only one that had this much potential.

All for One couldn't keep track of the whole world in the state he had been in, no he was focused on Shigaraki.

Quirks were endless and wonderful, hell quirks as new order existed. That was full of infinite possibilities… it was bound to not be the only one that was super powerful out there.

Sighing he stood up from where he was sitting. Looking out over the melancholy streets of the city he called home. Even if he got rid of All for One someone stronger could emerge… he needed strength. Tossing the piece of condensed mass up and down in his hand he smiled ever so slightly.

Now that All for One was gone he could start making real progress.

He had a main goal now as well, he wanted a warping quirk… something that he could use himself or give to a close and trusted ally, he had one in mind as well.

The clink of the cup against the saucer sounded out through the entire room. Nick leaned back further into the seat as he pulled his knee up to his chest. His eyes looked between the figure of Aizawa and his mother as he couldn't help but smirk a bit, it was an amusing scene, to say the least.

"I know you notified us in advance but isn't this just way to sudden?" Amy said as she looked at Aizawa with a stern gaze.

"I know but we believe this to be the best-" Aizawa started to speak but was cut off as he was forced to sit back a bit, the tabby jumped into his lap and sat down like it owned him causing him to pause.

Glaring at the cat Nick thought, 'I will reconstruct you,' as the cat glared back at him. It only showed love to his mother, but now it was all over Aizawa… why was that tired dirtbag better than him?

"We believe it to be the best way to keep students… safe." He finished, looking between Amy and Nick as he realized what he was saying kind of.

Chuckling a bit she said. "Look, as a Mother I am already worried about the state of U.A. He has been there for only months and has already gotten himself caught up in multiple villain attacks. But I trust in his strength, he has always been a smart boy... Most of the time." Her last comment came with a jab from her elbow.

"But… ah what am I saying. I don't like it. And he doesn't need protection from the problems that he seems to be solving. So the choice is his." She said as she motioned to Nick.

Looking up in surprise from the tea that he was drinking he looked at his mum as she waited for his response. Turning to Aizawa he saw the man looking at him, guilt clear in his eyes. Sighing Nick leaned back further into the seat as he looked at the ceiling.

He didn't want to. The idea of boarding with his class was a pain in the ass. And he wouldn't have his shed and basement to work in. Hell, it would be so inconvenient. He wouldn't be able to sneak out as easily.

Then again it might be kind of fun, but that was not nearly enough to make him want to do it.

"I really don't want to no…" He said. His voice was certain as he looked at Aizawa.

Sighing Aizawa said, "I was told you would be against it, Nezu told me to give this to you in case you refused on your mother's behalf." His voice was a bit confused as he handed over a letter.

Looking between his mother and the letter he opened it. Reading its contents as he groaned.

"Fuck."

Walking into the school well before the sun had risen he walked up the stairs to the principal's office. His steps were almost hesitant. Was it because he still hadn't let Toya go? The guilt he was starting to feel. Meeting Nezu seemed so hard.

Knocking on the door he heard the voice of Nezu say, "come in."

Obeying the 'command' he opened the doors and made his way inside. Seeing the person that he considered to be his teacher standing and looking over the field. His eyes roamed over the dorms.

"Are you the traitor?" Nezu suddenly asked, causing Nick's eyes to widen as he stood there shocked by the sudden question.

Taking a moment he composed himself, he would just be honest. "No."

"You seem to know a lot more than you should Hendrix, you decisions at moments have been rash and possibly harmful, you even tried to heal villains?" Nezu continued. Staring out the window.

The lights were off in the room, leaving the only light shining on the front of the bear, leaving his back cast in shadow.

"I. I am not the traitor. I want to do my best to stop All for One, I just want to protect this world." His voice was calm as he looked at his hand.

"Have you done something wrong? Your breathing was heavy outside the door, your hearts are uncontrolled." Nezu pointed out.

"I killed the villain Dabi in order to steal his quirk so I could fight the cold of the Ice Queen." Nick said as he explained to his mentor what was happening, lying now would only hurt more. He needed help. He needed to know what to do.

"Well that brings up a lot of questions does it not, but those are not what I want to answers to right now Nicklaus Hendrix. Are you the traitor." Nezu asked, his voice clear as he turned and looked at Nick.

"I am not, but I think I know who it might be. I have recently started adding quirks to my new body to become stronger. There is a way the DNA feels when it is weaved in, when it isn't meant to be there originally. Yuga Aoyama… his quirk is not his own." Nick said as he looked at Nezu… everything felt. Wrong.

Thinking for a moment Nezu looked back out the window for a moment before saying. "Very well, I don't think you air the traitor. You have done to much for us, you are to strong and direct to be doing things like this if you were. I believe that what you say makes sense. I will look into the matter personally." Nezu said as he went and sat down at the coffee table. "Now tell me about how you took a life…"

Sitting down he picked up the offered cup as he started to go over what he thought he needed to explain. How he had killed someone and absorbed their body to have his quirk perfectly.

"So merging with someone is far stronger than replicating their quirk?" Nezu asked as he looked up at Nick, raising one of his mousy brows.

"Yeah, much. It's like my body accepts the quirk as it is without any complications. I just have that quirk and mine. Working together perfectly. If I can conquer their souls." Nick said, of course, he was missing details of it all, but he was being honest about the basics.

"Would you do it again if you needed strength?" Nezu asked, there was clearly a bit of concern in his voice.

"Probably, I want to protect those I love and this world. I really do, that is all I want. And with people like this Ice Queen appearing and the strength I saw All for One having who knows who is out there. Japan is just a small part of a very big world. And it is running very well considering everything that is happening. I need strength, and I am willing to sacrifice things to get it." Nick confessed as he looked at Nezu.

"Are you acting rashly without thinking again? Is it worth giving up some of yourself?" Nezu asked.

"Would you never kill anyone Nezu?" Nick asked, his voice quiet.

"I already have… I hated those scientists." Nezu confessed as he looked at Nick. "That does not mean it was right, killing is never right, no matter how necessary, I see a lot of danger in you Nicklaus, but I believe that you want to protect the world like you say." Nezu sighed as he sipped his tea.

"Just how does that protection look?" Nezu finished as he put his cup down.

"I don't know, I want to stay as an ideal hero but if I had not acted and used Dabi's power then both me and the Symbol of Peace could have died. As well as Bakugo who I failed to save the first time at during the training camp." Nick said, his voice raising a bit.

"I know, and I am grateful. You did what you needed. But just because something is necessary does not mean that it is right. I believe that what you did in that moment was what needed to be done and you acted in the best way you could. But do not justify actions 'because they were 'necessary,' that leads down a dark path." Nezu said in silence, having said his piece now he just needed to wait for Nick to think about it.

"I better get my workshop for moving into this school alright… and it better be damn good." Nick said as he chuckled. Trying to lighten the mood.

"You will, I will make sure to have the proper bio containers for creating bodies and storing DNA… although you know the rules. Nothing like the Nomu and only change your own body. Understood?" Nezu said as he looked at Nick.

"Yes teacher… thank you." Nick responded.

"You're welcome Nicklaus, you are strong, do not let your strength cause other harm. You can be a Hero… but do not take lives." Nezu finished.

=======

Am very tired it is getting very late haha. I hope some of your questions were answered in this chapter and I know there will probably be more but oh well. As for All for One not taking the immortality quirk there is no way that he could know about every quirk in the entire world. I will explain more about this community as it becomes relevant but hopefully I was able to better explain her strength. I was going to introduce it all later but questions needed to be answered.

I think that with quirks like overhaul existing that All for One didn't take, there must be reasons. Strong quirks that All for One doesn't know about are bound to exist, he can't keep track of the entire world. But he can make sure that he has ally's or is owed favours. Quirks are getting more complicated and in his weaker form there would be people that start to gain on him in strength. He is making Shigaraki after all who is meant to return him to not only his prime but be even more powerful than that.

I am glad that some of you liked it! I do think that with the MC appearing All for One would need to introduce things to the scene that he originally didn't use in canon but it would make sense that he had.

Thanks for all the support and comments! As much as it isn't the best reading that things could be done better I am happy to do so, after all I want to become a better writers and I will admit that some of my writing doesn't make sense but I like to think that I am learning.

Thanks for all the advice!
