1 Prologue

Two months before...

Two days after my speech at the company party, I ran into a big problem I faced. The news of my speech and of the mass resignation had international repercussions. Shares fell and the company was criticized in every newspaper and magazine around the world. I already expected this, however, my biggest concern was facing Patricia and Romão. They'll fill me with questions, but I was prepared for what I had to face.

I arrived at the company escorted by two security guards, one of them was Flavio, the other was a trusted friend of his, who at first I suspected. However, Flavio knew that if his friend did something wrong, it was all his responsibility. It was very early when I arrived at the company, I took advantage of the fact that the building where I lived had a helipad, I called the pilot to come pick me up, because I knew there would be several journalists at the entrance to the company. Good thing no one knew where I lived, otherwise it would be hell for me.

I left before dawn, I wanted to arrive before everyone else, to better assess the situation. I worked on some documents and made some calls. I turned on my cell phone, aware that I would have several calls in addition to messages. I spent the entire Sunday locked in my apartment, my cell phone turned off. Well, I knew very well that my cell phone would be congested. My luck was that I ordered food at the restaurant near my building, otherwise I would be hungry. I stuffed myself all Sunday, the two kilos I lost the week I looked for an apartment and furnished it, I gained in one day.

I didn't see the time go by, nor do I know how long I'd been working, I only realized what time it was, when the door to my office suddenly opened, leaving Flavio alert and taking the gun from its holster.

"Aaaahhhh!!!!" shouted Patricia, raising her hands and Romao was startled, putting my sister behind him.

"Calm down! No need to be afraid. Flavio lowers the gun" I ordered. Flavio lowered the gun and put it back in its holster. "Flavio, they are my partners. Patricia you already know." They greet each other. "And this is Romao."

"So this is the famous Romao," Flavio said, squeezing his hand.

"Famous?"

Oh damn! I needed to get him out of here, before he talked nonsense.

"Eh...!" Now you can go and keep the deal.

The agreement I made with Flavio was: that everyone who comes near my office is searched, except Romão and Patrícia.

"You are crazy?" asked Patricia as soon as Flavio left the room. "You make that speech, fire everyone from the board on national television, now you show up with Flávio as bouncer? You've got to be kidding."

"It may not seem like it, but Flavio can be trusted."

"A person so trustworthy that he stole the television from his house."

Romao's eyes widened, surprised by our conversation, he didn't say anything, just watched the two of us argue.

"I know what I'm doing, I don't have to say what I do all the time"

"But regarding the company, you need to tell us." It was Romão's turn to manifest himself. "What went through your mind to do this without consulting us?" I rolled my eyes.

"I didn't say anything because I knew you wouldn't agree."

"Exactly, the stock dropped considerably, you almost bankrupted the company."

Well, seeing from this side...

“I have everything under control. “I mean, more or less. "Buy all shares."

"What?" they spoke in unison.

"That's exactly what you heard."

"You have to be crazy!" scolded Romao.

"The shares have gone down, it will be very easy to convince the shareholders to sell us. When I get the company back, they will be worth more than they are now."

"Do you know what's at stake here?" asked Patricia.

"You think I don't know? I have more to lose than the two of you together."

At that moment, Hector came to mind, I'm risking everything I had, but I know it's going to work.

"You could have told us about your plans for the day of the party, so you wouldn't take us by surprise."

"I didn't want you guys in the crossfire, if something went wrong I would have to count on you."

"What are you going to do to get around this situation?" asked Romao.

“First I want you to do as I say, buy the shares, all of them. You can let me handle the rest."

I spoke with all the conviction and assurance I had, but inside I was praying that my plan would work.
