Chapter Six

Spencer looked down at the invisible ground they stood on and thought of a plan. "Before we do anything drastic, we have to find out how wide the ground is".

She looked up at her friends. "Any volunteers?" she asked her friends, who all looked away, suddenly interested with the colour of their shoes.

Sighing, she took a step, then another and another, silently counting her footsteps. She walked for about thirty-five seconds and when she was about to put her right foot over her left she dripped. She lost her balance and just when she thought she would fall to her death, she was caught by Sawyer.

"I got you babe". Sawyer slowly said as he helped her up.

"You okay?" He asked concerned.

Nodding her head, Spencer tried to shake the feeling of fear she felt a second ago. She let go of Sawyer and turned to the group. Breathing slowly, she composed herself and the thought of her plan failing scared the shit out of her.

"Okay, Amos, everyone's lighter than you, so you are going have to do all the heavy lifting". Spencer ordered as she carefully led Amos to a spot. Standing in the right spot, he looked at her carefully.

"Did you just call me fat?" he asked.

Groaning Sawyer answered him before Spencer could. "Get over it. If it helps you can take it as a compliment".

Ignoring them both, Spencer turned to the twins. "Between you two, who weighs more?"

Aria and Zoe looked at each other for a second and turned back to Spencer, turning to each other again, they both said. "She".

Sighing Spencer wondered why she asked, she should have known she would get this answer. Spencer concluded Zoe had to weigh less.

With all the cheerleading and stupid dancing, she does, she had to weigh less than Aria.

With that thought she smiled a little. She had to admit she wasn't too much of a fan of Zoe.

"So, these is how we are going to do it. Zoe's the lightest, so she's going to have to be the first to touch the ground, am going to be the next and Aria you are going to follow behind, then Sawyer and finally Amos".

"I honestly don't think I understand your plan". Everyone but Sawyer nodded agreeing with her.

"I told you, i am talking everyone through it, you don't need to understand".

Aria turned her face murmuring gently, "How reassuring"

" Zoe, am going to hold your hand, while you carefully and slowly jump out of … well eh whatever we are on".

"Okay". Zoe meekly replied, she did as Spencer ordered. She carefully put one leg out of the floating ground and held unto Spencer's leg. She could imagine so many ways these could go wrong.

"Good, that's it, now Aria am going to need you to hold my hand and push me out slowly".

Aria nodded at her friend and sister's body lying body, she carefully pushed them and watched as Zoe and Spencer's body dangled of the ground.

Zoe screamed and Aria covered her ears, she was about to tell her to shut it, when Sawyer voice was heard.

"Oh shut it already, we are trying to survive not die. Whatever or whoever put us here is still out there, probably watching us".

Spencer looked down and looked up to her friends. "It's still too far to jump guys, she won't make it without dying".

"I was going to jump?" The scary look in Zoe's face almost made Sawyer laugh, but he still couldn't help himself from yelling at her. "Shut up Zoe".

Amos sighed, still a little grumpy. "Could you all stop yelling at Zoe, she's obviously scared"

"Yeah well, so are we. Yet, you don't hear us shouting at the top of our voices". Sawyer commented.

"Shut up both of you okay. I'm currently dangling from an invisible ground so shut the hell up dudes".

Amos shook his head and turned to Aria and asked. "Ready?" At Aria's nod, he held unto her as she let herself down. Spencer quickly caught her leg and pulled herself down slowly.

She looked to see if it was possible to jump but she wasn't sure. "Zoe can you jump?"

Zoe looked down and back to Spencer and yelled at her. "No. I am going to die".

Spencer shook her head frustrated. She was starting to feel the strain from holding unto Aria and she felt like she was being torn apart. She knew if they didn't find a way down soon she would lose whatever little strength she had to hold unto someone, and that could end up disastrously.

She was just about to yell at Sawyer to hurry up when she felt Zoe's left-hand slip from her leg. She looked down at Zoe, and that's when she noticed the sweat that had built up in Zoe's face.

Spencer realized how much harder this had to be on Zoe, considering she was the first to go down and calculating how weak Zoe was, the strain must be harder on her.

How weird that she never gave this a thought. She couldn't believe she didn't think this through. She was starting to think Amos was right after all.

"Oh fuck" she swore

"Zoe". Aria yelled at her sister, she saw the fear in her eyes and she knew that same fear showed in hers. She couldn't lose her.

"Zoe, you better don't let go. If you do, I am going to kill you. I am going to make sure you feel pain for the rest of your life. Okay, hold on, please".

Tears slipped out of Aria's eyes as she looked up at Sawyer. "It's your turn asshole, better do that fast, if not am going to cause you unending pain". She said to him, in which he silently nodded, getting into action.

Zoe tried to hold on but she was getting tired, she tried to muster as much will power as she could, but her body wasn't listening.

Two fingers slipped, and she knew she was dead weight. She was just prolonging the inevitable.

With a last teary look to her sister as she let go and fell.
