Our Love Repeats At Zero

A promised eternity and meaningful vows linked the Greek god of love and a mortal to lifetimes of relationship. Two drips of blood stained one rock as the proof of their devotion for each other. Before Eros could kiss his bride, she collapsed to deep slumber in his arms. The first and last kiss he ever laid on her forehead was a heart wrenching one that moved clouds to tears, stopped birds from singing and darkened the sky. At the peak of his heart ache, he glared at his mother, Aphrodite, resentfully for her lies, schemes and jealousy. "The moment you decided to hurt her, you should have expected losing me as your son." Eros eyes laid on his wife whose body withered to ashes and flowed to the underworld. "Let her live and I'll be her replacement." Once again, he watched her soul reach safety to the Oracle's hands. Aphrodite stripped away his power and threw him to the dungeon of suffering and torment, expecting him to give up his stubbornness after a few days. His love for her only deepened and the desire for power heightened. Eventually, he became the Devil. Oracle: "Her soul has been sent to the reincarnation portal, but I can't say when it would be her turn." "I'll wait for that day to come." Eros sipped his wine in his chamber as he stayed away from heavens. Thousands of years later..... "Master! Master! The human world is very exciting! There are books about you and your late wife's love story there too! I wonder how humans learn about these stories." The teenage crow demon, Axle, flapped his wings excitedly as he chanted about his findings. "Oh? Then bring me that book as souvenir next time." Eros chuckled at his underling. ------------------- The crow disguised himself as a teenager and always wandered around in a bookstore. "Tsss.. paper cut!" The girl accidentally cut her finger when she flipped to the last page of the Greek mythology tales book at the counter. "Are you alright?" "Yes, but the book..." "It's fine. I'll still take it." The crow said as he didn't mind the drip of blood that stained the words, happy ending, on the last page of the book. --------------- The book burned to flames and was tossed to the floor for others to make a bonfire. "Ridiculous! Happy ending? Don't let me see that ever again!" Eros' rare anger filled voice echoed piercingly in other demon's ears. Crow: "Master! Look!" Eros' attention landed on the pile of ashes on the floor. With widened eyes, he approached the pile of ashes and picked up the unburned piece. "Happy ending.." Oracle: "Eros, she's back." -------------- - A certain high school - "Ugly trash! Leave!" Classmate voices echoed in the girl's ear as she found her gymnastic sneakers filled with pin tacks, gym uniform soaked in pungent scented liquid and scribbled curses all over her desk. Facing the insults five days a week, she had gotten used to it. Still, it hurt to see people duding by her appearance. As tears clouded over her face, the mixture of cosmetics melted. "Here, wipe your tears. Don't let their words get to you." The popular classmate smiled and handed her a pack of tissues, instantly winning her heart as nobody had shown her an inch of respect in school. Rinsing her cosmetic filled face at home, the water dyed grey along with other colors. "I found you, my prince." Too bad, the prince was just a jerk who wanted to gain popularity. Luckily, she realized it early. ------------------ One night, she saved a kitten from getting run over by a car. The driver stepped out and asked if she was alright. Seeing how the man was wrapped up from head to toe, she handed the kitten to him. "I'm fine. Here, take the kitten to the hospital." "Miss, I think you need the hospital more than the kitten." His voice sounded magnetic to her ears. "I'm really fine. Bye." Her gorgeous smile greeted the man warmly. "Interesting. She didn't scam me." Eros stared at the direction where she had ran away.

Here's Your Pizza

'Pizza...' Eros remembered hearing this term somewhere.

'Ah, it was that thing that the Oracle said was weird. Vegetable and vibrant toppings.. stuck to the top, and it is usually warm...' Eros looked at the slipper in his hand. It was pink with a weirdly shaped carrot with two green leaves. It still felt a little warm.

With what he had just heard from Collen's claim, Eros was almost sure that the slipper he was holding was the 'pizza' Collen was talking about. However, he did not understand why Collen was holding cash.

'Oh! The Oracle said humans love taking and giving people cash. But I don't need it. Shouldn't I be giving her money instead? She got hurt earlier.' Eros fell silent. Actually, he hadn't spoken since the door opened.

Collen thought Eros was shy, so he shoved the cash and his business card into Eros's hand. "Take it. Oh, right, where's our pizza? You need to head to your next delivery address, right?"

Hearing him ask about pizza again, Eros lifted Primrose's slipper and handed it to him. "Your pizza."

Collen didn't even look at what was being placed in his hand. When he felt the weightless object in his palm, he looked down to find the oddly familiar slipper that resembled his sister's daily slipper sitting on his palm. The glue that helped keep the carrot in place was half gone already. Therefore, it dangled half off when Collen saw it.

The two brothers looked further down. When they saw Eros wearing only one slipper that was the same color and style as the one that Primrose was wearing, they grinned.

Primrose wanted to find a shovel and dig a deep hole to bury herself. She averted her gaze to the ceiling of some corner that she did not even know existed.

"Sir, why do you have our sister's slipper? And why is your slipper on her foot?" Jayden lifted his glasses once again. He slid his hand into his front pocket and straightened his back.

Eros stared back at the two grizzly bears in front of him. In his eyes, they acted like two bears protecting a cub from being eaten by a predator. "Shouldn't you be asking your sister why her foot is in my slipper and not the other way around?"

'Hah, you're not getting off the hook. I don't like fighting bears without their cub on my side.' Eros's twisted thought could only be read in his mind.

With his sentence, the attention was placed back on Primrose.

"I...I went to his condo. He is our new neighbor. He lives next door to us." Primrose's palm was already soaked in sweat. She shot arrows at Eros, but he didn't seem affected by the threat.

"Now the question is, how did you get to his condo? Why? And how did you get back in here?" Her eldest brother was as sharp as always. Seeing that guilty expression already confirmed his suspicions. If he links everything together, it would make a perfect puzzle.

"I..went through his door to get to his condo. I went because he has pets. I also came back through the door." She didn't dare give away which door she used.

"Oh right, speaking about the door..."Eros's speech slurred, hooking the interest of the two brothers instantly.

Primrose raised her finger and tapped her lips, hinting to him not to say anything about the balcony. However, Eros did not understand her gesture. He thought she was pointing at the balcony to remind him which door she came from. Even though she was pointing at the balcony and crossing her arms, he only nodded to her in response before exposing her heroic exercises.

"You could use my other door next time. You jumped to and from the balcony. It's dangerous. Don't sue me for money if you fall and break your bones. I still need to save money for my future wife." Eros remembered the last sentence from an old drama series he was forced to watch.

"You-!" Primrose felt her blood reverse. Anger rose to her cheeks, tainting it red.

"Primmy, what's this about the balcony? What door did you go through?" Collen was interrogating her this time with his arms crossed on his chest.

"Haha... The balcony door is still a door..." Primrose could see thunder rumbling above her brothers' heads. The last time she tried putting a baby bird back in its nest, she was lectured by her brothers and grounded for a month.

This time, she was jumping in the air like a circus performer. She could imagine herself being under house arrest for the next few months. They would probably build a wall or something around the rails.

Since Eros wanted to drag her to his puddle, she also decided to give him away. "Hmph! I was a good girl minding my own business. It was his fault! He was holding the poor kitten and wanted to throw the kitten away from such a high height! As a law-abiding citizen, I must do something, right?"

"Who says I can't enjoy the moon with my cat? Isn't my cat safe and sound? And are you sure the term law-abiding citizen really refers to you?" Eros was interested in her comeback.

"That's because I saved her! You almost ran the kitten over just hours ago! Luckily I saved her!" Primrose did not realize she had slipped her tongue. When she recalled what she had said, she wanted to choke herself for letting those words out.

"Primmy, how did you save the kitten?" As if a devil's tail could be seen swaying behind her two brothers, Primrose gulped at their darkened expressions. They were just missing two devil's horns to complete their looks.

"I..." She didn't know how to answer their questions. Should she say she rolled like superman without a cape to save the kitten? Or should she say she was cosplaying as spiderman and hopping everywhere she can? Either way, these answers would lead to the same end for her: doom.

"Oh. She almost got hit by my car. I saw some scrapes on her earlier, but she gave me the kitten instead. She refused to take my medical compensation." Eros explained clearly in case her brothers misunderstand.

Primrose gritted her teeth and asked Eros. "Are you trying to help me or kill me?"

"Neither. Save myself. " Eros replied.

There's always that one person... who exposes XD
