CHAPTER 3

Inside John's room,

He was lying on his bed digging into his phone when a notification popped out

Sally:

'Still awake? Go to sleep right now.'

He sighed and threw his phone away on bed.

He started reading a book but soon he was in his deep thoughts.

JOHN'S THOUGHTS

She was my best friend and the only friend but after she left that day I felt so bad.

And after that day I never saw her again. Some friends told me that she moved to another city. Will she forget me? NO.

I had faith in our friendship. After she left I was afraid to make friends, I started avoiding others until SHE came in my life.

FLASHBACK

"Everyone silence. We have a new student in our class. Please introduce yourself." The teacher said.

A girl, 10 years old entered the class in school uniform and a bag hanging on her shoulders, "Hello! I am Sally. Nice to meet you all. Please befriend with me." She said while smiling at me showing her dimple, I ignored her but couldn't help but smile.

She came near me and sat by my side. "Hello. I am Sally. You can call me chewy and you?"

I replied "I am John and Sally is fine" she smiled and introduced herself to others.

Unlike me, she made friends in that one day. She started sharing my bench everyday, approached me everyday and gradually we became good friends. We would share everything with each other.

As we grew up our friendship grew more and more everyday. Her cute actions, sweet nature and just everything about her was pretty except one Aron George. He is our classmate and a good friend of Sally. Well, he is nice, every girl in school is head over heels for him and but I am afraid he will take Sally away from me. Am I being Jealous? Maybe!

One day all of sudden she said "Johny! You are my best friend, my happiness, my everything. Now here promise me that you will only and always love ME."

She took out her pinky finger to make a promise. "I promise to love you and-"

I stopped there but why? Because the space for best friend is reserved only for Mia. I still miss her every day.

"So, I'm not your best friend? Who is it then?" she said sarcastically.

I told her everything about Mia which was the only secret left between us. She looked a bit sad after hearing. I asked "Why are you sad?"

She nervously said "No-nothing, I-just-I was worried about you.",

"Dont worry until I have you, sadness cant even touch me." I said confidently and we left hand in hand.

But there was always this one thing which made me sad. After all she was my best friend. I missed Mia and our quality time together.

END OF FLASHBACK

John was already asleep with book open on his chest and face all wet because of tears. He muttered in sleep 'I miss you Mia.'
