Pit Stop

Forcesth walks many miles before he stops. He sits on the rough dirt road and runs his feet. "Its getting dark." Forcesth says aloud as he gets up to go find the closest gad station. Luckily there was one within a 30 minute radias. But as he starts walking he grabs his bag and notices that its heavier than it was when he first had it on his back before he sat down. He opens the bag and sees a puppy, cold and thin he gently puts on the bag and runs to the closet gas station. The puppy starts moving around and whimpers. Forcesth slows down his sprint and goes to a speed walk. His hips start to ache but he ignores the pain and continues to walk. Within an hour he makes it to the gas station, it seems to be very empty. "Can I help you young man?" says the nice cashier lady at the front of the store. Forcesth says "Um do you happen to have dog food?" the lady smiles and motions over to the front of the store where she is. "Now young man it's illegal to have pets in this store but I will help you since you seem to be coming from a rough place." She says sincerely and walks away into the back of the store. She comes back to the front and gives the boy 2 sticks of beef jerky and I small bag of dog food and 10 waterbottles for free. "Now put these in your bag and go buy some other products to hold you down for your journey. We have some blankets and another backpack for the products for your puppy." Forcesth looks at the lady very surprised and says softly " Thank you so much. How did you know-" She cuts him off and says " Look kid I was in the same situation as you, and pets always help with it, I hope you make it through kid. You also seem pretty smart so I'm guessing you took money from your dad huh?" Forcesth nods and says "Yeah actually." He smiles and nods thank you and walks to the other side of the store to grab things he'll need to sleep outside. He goes to the cashier and says a last thank you before he walks out the door.

Forcesth is outside and he puts both of his bags on the floor. He unzips his brother's old backpack with the puppy in it and he gently grabs the puppy in his arms and places him next to the other bag. As he unzips the second bag the puppy starts to get up and sit right underneath his arm, soom falling asleep. Forcesth realizes this and feels the puppy shivering underneath him. He grabs his jacket in his bag and gently picks up the puppy and raps him in his jacket and places him in Lamplite's backpack. He grabs all of his things and walks over to the side of the gas station that had a light and he walks over to the tree across from it. The puppy still sound asleep in his brother's bag and places it softly on the ground underneath the tree. Forcesth grabs the sleeping bag and the dog food out of his bag. He takes out the dog bowl and he pours the dog food and water into the bowl. Forcesth unzips the bag and the puppy is still asleep, he wakes up the puppy and motions it to the food but it still doesn't move. So he puts a pinch of dog food into his hand and the puppy eats it. He continues to do this until the dog bowl no longer had dog food in it. The puppy stands up and slowly walks over to the bowl with water in it and drinks the water. The puppy goes back to the backpack it was in and sits there staring at Forcesth. Forcesth looks at the puppy and says "What should I name you little one?" The puppy stands up and walks over to the tree and sits there. Forcesth confused, walks over to the tree where the puppy is with a flashlight and sees the puppy is sitting next to a flower. The flower is yellow and blue on the petals with the vine small and brown. He smiles  and says "I'll  call you Manni." The puppy looks down and walks in a circle and sits back down next to the flower. The puppy whimpers and puts its paw on the flower and the flower drips purple liquid. The puppy licks it up and goes to the backpack it was originally in. Forcesth finally understands what the puppy wants to be called "So you want me to call you Laven" The puppy smiles and lays its head on the jacket it was put in. Forcesth opens up his sleeping bag next to Laven and he falls asleep.
