Chapter 30

3rd Person's Pov

The party started with the first dance of the two engaged people, France and Arci.

The two are like canvases dancing on the grassy ground. Their eyes that are locked on each other are like two people who have fallen deeply in love.

Everyone would think that they were a match made in heaven. Souls that are meant to be together.

After the first dance, the nobles started to gather in the center, dancing with their partners.

'I want to dance with her.' Avyanna sulked and drank the glass of wine that was in her hand.

She looked at Yelena, who was sitting mannerly in her seat. No man has approached her, not even once.

Then, a man approached them. He bent in front of Avyanna and reached out his hand.

"May I have the honor of dancing with Lady Brooke?" He raised his head and grinned at Avyanna.

With his red-colored hair and the purple eyes that match with Rezia. Avyanna already knew who this person was.

She didn't hesitate to accept the hand of the man who then dragged her to the center.

Yelena felt bitter while watching this. She is convinced that something is wrong with herself. And that only happens when Avyanna is involved.

Avyanna, who danced with the unknown man, spoke.

"I thought you'd be meeting me in three days' time?" She asked, looking at the eyes of the man.

"You're so sharp, Lady Brooke." The man smirked.

"Only you will have the audacity to have the same appearance as my instructor, who is not even at this party." She replied.

"Indeed."

"So, have you accepted what I offered you?"

"...yes. It was a large mana mine. I appreciate your gift."

"It is not a gift, sir." Avyanna eyed him sharply.

That made the man's grin wider.

"Yes. I will officially welcome you as a guild member. Now, I will let you have access to the information we have gathered. If you want, I will give you some of my men. You are a great benefit to our guild, My Lady." He said as he spun Avyanna and caught her in his arms.

"I appreciate that. I will soon need those men for something trivial." Avyanna replied.

"The Holy Saintess has arrived."

Avyanna's ears twitched as she heard the announcement. The dancing and music stopped at that announcement.

"Looks like I need those men sooner." She said as her eyes turned to the woman who had come down from the carriage.

Their eyes met and they threw each other a deadly glare. It was unpleasant for both of them to meet.

"Tower Master, I want you to gather any information about that Saintess." She whispered.

"Saintess Rhis of the Holy Temple..." He thought deeply and smiled at Avyanna. "Sure thing. The Temple's security is not that great anyway."

"Until when do I have to wait?" She asked.

"Only a day. I will tell my men after this."

"Thanks. I have a bad feeling about this person suddenly appearing here."

"Really? She seems harmless."

"That's her outside appearance. I saw how agitated she was to kill me when she invited me to the temple."

"I see... You can trust my guts. I will have men to guard you."

"I appreciate that."

"Just returning the favor."

Rhis' Pov

Her gaze was cold as always. It may have given me shivers, but it just disappeared the moment her attention was diverted from me.

She whispered something to the man she danced with, and I barely heard it. I stared at the man and I saw an unfamiliar character. A man with red hair and violet eyes. I have never written such a character.

His vibes scream male lead vibes, and I've never wrote him! Who the hell is he?

Our eyes suddenly met, and he smiled. His smile is stunningly beautiful and attractive.

He leans on that fake bitch and then they laugh. They also seem to have a very intimate relationship. I will get that man too, once I enter that damned bitch's body.

But I thought she was interested in that villainess?

My eyes searched for the villainess. A woman with two different hair colors. She doesn't even look average. Compared to this body I am in, I bet that it is more beautiful than hers.

Our eyes suddenly met and I saw the coldness of her eyes that sent shivers down my spine. I looked away as I trembled. What a monster.

"Saintess of the Holy Temple, we welcome you to come to our little party." The Emperor greeted.

I still hold a title, no less. Everyone should respect me! Their creator!

I clasp my hands together and shut my eyes. I kneel in front of them for a show.

"I bless the Empire's sun and his people. I came to her as a representative from the Holy Temple."

"It was an honor for us."

Heh. That's right. It is sure to be your honor to meet me.

Avyanna's Pov

I can sense her devilish aura from this corner. That person really has something on her mind.

"How was your first dance?" 

I suddenly have shivers on my back. I turn around to see Yelena's deadly glare. An unpleasant atmosphere is building up around her.

"Uhh.. I-it was nothing. We talked about business, that is." I said, trying to convince her as I nervously smiled.

"Yeah? Well, you seem happy with your business talking." She emphasizes the 'business talking' as if she is implying something.

"My Lady, are you jealous?" I teased.

"Wah--" Her face turned red like a ripe tomato. "What a-are you..." She turned her face to the side. She's so ridiculously cute. "T-that's ridiculous... W-why would I... T-to a woman?"

My smile faded.

"I-indeed. T-that was just a joke."

I forgot that this world is different. She.... is different.

I sigh in frustration. However, I want her to know, at least.

"Is there something wrong with that?" I suddenly asked.

"W-what is it?" She was confused.

"Two people of the same gender having feelings for each other." I replied.

"H-huh? T-that seems r-ridiculous...?" She answered.

"Hmph." I pouted and turned my gaze somewhere else. "It was a ridiculous question. Please forget about it."

"W-what?!"

I stood up and walked away. I need to cool my head because I seem to be losing all of the means to being close with her first.

"Avy?!?!"

I didn't look back because I might have to do something and tell her how I felt. This isn't the time. Maybe I'll tell her after the delegation. But it doesn't mean I am in a hurry.
