14 Meet the parents (pt.1)

[Hayden's pov]

We had been sitting in Keith's room talking for a few hours. This was one of the few times we had talked outside of homeroom and I realized

what a nice guy he is.

"So heyden, tell me about your family" he said looking at me with curiosity in his eyes. "Well I live with my mother ." I said looking at him and smiling. " What about your father?" My expression changed when he mentoined my father. I think he might have noticed because he apologized right after . " Im sorry. You dont have to answer if it is a sensitive topic." I was happy that he noticed and changed to subject so that I would be comfortable.

[ A few weeks later ]

We had been talking gor a while now so we could get to know eachother and I found out about alot of his favorite things. I even opened up about my dad and in return he told me about his family. I was surprised to hear how complicated they were.

"Heyden, I think we should tell my parents about the baby."Keith said. I almost choked on my water when I heard him.

" You do? I thought you said you weren't talking to them."(Heyden)

" I know, but they are still my parents,and they deserve to know that I am having a child.".(Keith)

"I guess. When should we tell them?"(Heyden)

"I was thinking tomorrow. My dad is coming to the house to get me so it will be the perfect time to tell them both."(Keith)

"Ok.Can I bring my mother so they can meet?"(Heyden)

"Of course. Then its settled tomorrow we will tell my parents."(Keith)

[A few hours later]

I went home to tell my mom about tomorrow.

"Hey mom! I'm home!"

"Oh ,hey honey. Go wash up dinner will be ready in a minute."

I ran uptairs and took a shower before going to eat. I helped my mom with the plates and sat down.

"So hunny where were you?"(mom)

"Oh, I was with Keith."

"Keith is the father, right?"

"Yeah .We have been talking for a few weeks so we could get to know each other." I said taking a bite of food.

"oh,well i'm glad he was willing to help you."she paused before continuing," If only thats how it went with your father..."

She had a sad look in her eyes.I really wish my father hadn't left her,she was all alone trying to raise a baby at such a young age.

"Hey,its ok mom. I dont want this to change, I have you and that is all I need."I said reassuring her that I am ok without a father.

"Oh,my. I just made it sad lets talk about something else,ok?" She said trying to change the subject.

We talked a bit more and I told her about tomorrow which she happily agreed to do.

[ Keith's pov ]

I had walked downstairs into the kitchen after my mom called me for dinner. She was sitting next to Eric. They hadn't touched their food yet becausd they were waiting for me.

"So Keith how was your day?" (mom)

"It was good I just went to practice and then hung out with a friend for a few hours.(Keith)

"Practice?" Eric said confused.I hadn't told him I played football yet.

"oh,thats right you are the captain of your schools football team right?"(mom)

" Uh,yeah." I said,kinda happy she remembered that.

"Oh thats cool. Y'know I used to play football back in the day. If you need some pointers just come to me 'kay?" (Eric)

"Yeah ok."😁 (I might use emojis when im to lazy).

[ 10 minutes later ]

" So mom,tomorrow I am bringing a friend and his mom."

"Why?"She said with a confused look.

" Dont tell me you are introducing me to your boyfriend." She said with a hint of anger in her voice.

"No,mom he is not my boyfriend,but we do have something to tell you."I said reassuring her.

"Oh,ok. Well then I will see them tomorrow."

I have a feeling that tomorrow will be one hell of a roller coaster...
