Chapter 46: School Festival (I).
On the villainess' side.
She went on alone as she wore her uniform, strutting down on the open halls of their academy and stopped in front of the mahogany wooden door, with the sign on the very top that says: Student Council Room.
Lady Evelyn looks up at the clear font sign of the office room for all the important people held for meetings and other important things to talk about. "The student council room, I haven't been here for a while."
Lady Evelyn Alarie, the woman of the hour and the current Vice President of the student council being under her fiancé the crown prince.
She held the letter in her hand thinking of how it was a rather sudden meeting for all of them to talk about the festival plans.
They both have duties given by their parents, thinking this would make their connections strong, and work together through thick and thin gaining experience for the future prospects of the kingdom.
The villainess has been rather busy with a certain blonde hair girl to think of club matters personally, and has just been dealing with the paperwork in her office with great pace so that it did not affect her time observing the heroine with her random acts of… peculiarity.
Peculiarity that she doesn't mind, actually she's been growing fond of them lately that she's been smiling.
"Hah…" (Lady Evelyn) held the doorknob, twisting it before seeing the other student council members sitting in their own personal chairs.
The Student Council President, Crown Prince Dereck sat down on his chair not looking happy to see the woman that had foiled his plans to woo a certain girl.
"Vice President Lady Alarie, welcome. We've been waiting for you to formally discuss- the school festival plans." The secretary motions to her for a welcome and shows her an empty seat that was right across to the crown prince.
A background character from the original story, only giving a few scenes of dialogues before disappearing and to never appear again.
"I must apologize for having kept you all waiting." She closes the door first before heading into her designated seat.
The president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, person of information, and business managers were all present.
They all watched as the noblewoman sat down on her chair and proceeded on with the meeting.
"You haven't kept us waiting, be rest assured." The secretary nods his head, reassuring the villainess that all is well but it was met with a scoff from the crown prince and a smirk.
"She's late, that's how I see it, we have standards of being on time." The crown prince snickers as the others looked on worriedly for the villainess. "Don't you think you're getting a bit sloppy, Evelyn? Are you taking your role seriously?"
"Pfft-" Those who sided with the crown prince however, snickered as well behind her back.
Lady Evelyn knew of their attitude towards her, all the supporters of the oldest crown prince in terms of power he was higher so she had no choice but to go along with it.
"The letter has just arrived to my dorm room just this morning informing about the meeting, so you must understand why I am not on time today." (Lady Evelyn) clenches her hands, eyes cold and distant.
The secretary tilts his head confused hearing of her reasoning for being late. "Our letters informing us about the meeting were sent a week ago. How come yours has just arrived that morning?"
Lady Evelyn blinks with wide eyes upon hearing of this information and immediately turns to the crown prince for answers, she could see him enjoying every bit of reaction he could get out of her and waves his hands dismissively.
"Ah, that was my fault." (Crown Prince Dereck) proudly admitted that it was his fault for making Lady Evelyn late on purpose. "My clumsy butler must've given it way too late but you still have a duty to fulfill and that's to actively participate on time in every important meeting."
Important meeting her ass!
'You just wanted to use this opportunity to humiliate me!' (Lady Evelyn) screamed internally inside of her mind, seeing the man she was supposed to marry a few years after their graduation in the academy signifying that they're ready to rule the kingdom together.
'To think this is the man I'll be tied down with- I defend him on every occasion that he's in trouble but he dares drag me down!' (Lady Evelyn) managed to stay calm and collected, not letting this affect her in any way.
She needed to think something to look forward to after the meeting-
'Tweet~ tweet!'
The image of Losimer's figure popped in her head and told tales of how Analissa Blanchet enjoyed her gift. How she smiled, how her eyes sparkled and how thankful she was for her generosity.
"...I will uphold the standard the next time." She answers with a faint smile on her face, a genuine one as she thought of the heroine's happy expression.
It gives her warmth and somehow forgets she's in a meeting with the devil.
"Very well done. Now everyone, I would like to have your attention!" (Crown Prince Dereck) puffs up his chest a little as he stands up to gather everyone's attention to conduct the meeting for a new exciting event.
One that's part of the original plot of the game, to earn heart points from the few introduced love interests and even meet a few new ones!
"The school festival will be held in a month's time! Meaning I want each and everyone of the student council to be available for the next month onsite, of course, I need this announced in the public bulletin board so all students may also prepare their main attraction." The crown prince took on the liberty of announcing and writing everything they needed to do on a special magic board in the wall.
"Each attraction made by a class will be judged based on popularity and we've made a special ticket system that can count or even vote the best class with the main attraction." The secretary holds a ballot box in his hand and places his hands inside of it, taking a colored sheet of paper with a magic sigil embedded in a point system inside.
The main attraction event.
Depending on the event chosen by the heroine, it will unlock different sets of heart points for the love interest. In the first few chapters you have the chance to get to know the few introduced characters that could help you decide on which decision to choose.
The only problem is, the code for the heroine has been affected.
The game is unsure if the original route will play out after all the meddling.
"The winners will have a few prizes provided by the royal family. My father and mother have been oddly generous. We'll be thanking them as soon as I get home." (Crown Prince Dereck) sighs, and notes a few more things on their magic board. "The student council members are all forbidden to join the main attraction event, but are welcome to spectate and are limited in buying the ticket to only three."
Lady Evelyn nodded, taking note of everything, she didn't mind if all she had to do was spectate during the festival but she was curious on how her class will be able to pull things off.
"I wonder… what she'll do."
She held her chin in wonder of what the heroine would do, endless possibilities of attractions they could do but it would be hard to control the class if Miss Blanchet were to lead an event.
The boys would be easy since they already adore her completely without question, but the girls-
"..."
She's not so sure when it came towards the girls in the classroom.
"The academy gates will be open not only to students but for the commoners in the lower area, we must show them a great welcome and the nobles will be joining us in the high area." The separation of rankings was important, and everyone took it seriously.
A few more concerns have been raised, everyone will be busy for the month preparing for their main attraction for each class.
"We'll be taking care of the food stalls and public booths, thank you all for listening and I believe there is nothing else... so you're all dismissed." (Crown Prince Dereck) dismisses the other student council members who happily laughs and talks about how the school event this year will be better than last year's.
"Things are going well! And with all the new bright students this year we'll be having a blast."
"Yeah and you should expect what Lady Evelyn's class will bring, after all they have this beauty named Analissa Blanchet the commoner who was supposed to be in the lower section but was placed in the high section because of her ability to conduct light magic."
"Ah her! No wonder, I've seen her once and I swear my heart thumped like I was in love!"

Everyone else was already leaving, all but one.
"...I take it everyone is dismissed but not me." (Lady Evelyn) takes a side glance at his fiancé who nods.
"You know me so well."
The crown prince sees that it was just the two of them left, the door closes with a faint locking click before he raises his hand to cast a spell.
"Obex Claustrum." The spell to create a barrier that would block all noises, keeping things quiet and private as they talked. Once the spell has taken effect the crown prince could start talking without having to worry about the ears outside their room.
"So Evelyn-"
The villainess snaps her tongue.
"You've summoned me at this hour, writing a letter to talk about such things with the matters of Miss Analissa Blanchet and even dare humiliate me in front of the others." The villainess didn't even let him finish sentence after all the things he did today.
The girl doesn't take humiliation kindly even if it was her own fiancé. "This better be important."
"Oh it is, why is it that every time you come to fool around you stop me from getting closer to the person I like?" He circles the villainess who gave an equal stare down on the crown prince.
"Aren't we in an open relationship? We don't like each other and we're not married." (Crown Prince Dereck) who has never had to hear the word no ever in his life, wanted everything and almost got everything.
That blonde girl is the only thing missing in his life to fill such an empty void. She was so different, nothing like the other girls- He could feel his heart moving and flustered.
He feels so happy even just being in the same room as Analissa Blanchet.
"We may be in an open relationship but you have to respect Miss Analissa Blanchet, she's told me she's not interested in you. I believe it was clear the moment you held her wrist that left a mark." (Lady Evelyn) still remembers that day.
How by that time she was untrusting and even stalked her not believing that such a girl would be unaffected by the crown prince.
Finally she met her match.
The crown prince chuckles hearing his fiancé's words. Every woman can be earned through time, small bits of affection and a display of a man's power.
"Don't you mean 'not interested yet'? Evelyn, you say such hogwash you make me mad." (Crown Prince Dereck) looms over the girl, his eyes dark and muddled.
"I get what I want, because I'm the crown prince. Once I'm through with you, I'll have the girl for myself."
Lady Evelyn's expression turned into shock and rage of anger in a few seconds, not being able to hold back after hearing how this horrible man would take Analissa away.
"And you have no shame spouting that nonsense in front of me?!" The image of a white pure flower that was once cared for and nourished, was suddenly in the crown prince's hand wilted.
"Oh I know, because at the end of the day you're nothing to me and- I want you to stay away from Analissa."
To stay away from the blonde girl, Miss Analissa Blanchet, her new found friend- the noblewoman couldn't accept his words and raised her eyebrow in retaliation.
"Or what?" she asks, knowing that the relationship they have now was something worth fighting for she didn't think of even following her fiancé's orders.
The crown prince hums, thinking on what to do.
"...Or I'll hurt someone precious to you, I know things that you love and cherish. Isn't your family one of them?" The crown prince sat down relaxing in his chair. However, Lady Evelyn seemed so unaffected hearing of her family being hurt.
"You're a fool, Dereck."
"A fool in love."
Lady Evelyn couldn't stand to be in the same room as him any longer and left, barely calming herself down. She opened the door and left, muttering her last words to his fiancé.
"A fool who will soon meet his doom."
