Dimensional Chaos

The rain danced off the window with the peculiar power to draw the attention of everyone nearby, drawing their eyes to the beautiful scenery through the glass as a dark haze covered the world.

Evergreen High School, a well recognized private school throughout London, known for their good conditions and small acceptance rate. In order to be accepted into their school, you must have at-least above a 3.5 GPA.

Inside the history classroom of Evergreen High, an old instructor stood at the podium and preached about the history of the UK as he scanned the classroom with his eyes.

The old instructor's sight fell in the back of the classroom near the window and found a young man with short golden-blond hair using his elbow to prop his head up while peering outside the window.

The old instructor frowned and ceased talking, which frightened some people, assuming that they did something wrong.

Just as the old instructor opened his mouth and was about to reprimand the blond-haired young man, the bell rang, signalling that school was over and everyone stood up to leave, including the blond-haired young man.

The old instructor hesitated for a second, then shook his head with a sigh and left the classroom first.

"Hey Arthur! Going to Sophia's birthday party later?" A nerdy-looking guy with glasses leaned over and asked the blond-haired young man with a look of gossip on his face.

The hand Arthur used to put his books away halted for a second before packing the rest of his stuff and got up from his seat with a sigh. "I can't. If I try to ask for leave again, my boss might fire me."

Arthur smiled wryly while a hint of regret flashed through his light-blue eyes and pat the young man on the shoulder while leaving the classroom. "Tell her that Ill make it up to her this weekend."

You're probably wondering why someone barely in high school would have a job already, right?

Well, the answer is simple; he is an orphan.

He was raised in a small local orphanage where one night he was dropped off on the doorstep as a 3 week old baby with no sign of who his parents were.

So in order to not be a burden on the Aunt at the orphanage and get some pocket money, Arthur has been working as a server at a local restaurant since he turned fifteen.

After swapping out his school supplies for a gym bag full of work clothes and an umbrella at his locker, Arthur stood under the eves of the school and watched as rain flooded the streets.

"…" With a sigh, Arthur opened his umbrella and made his way down the deserted road.

While walking down his normal quiet path to work, Arthur's footsteps suddenly stopped, as if he felt something calling to him on the other side of the road. Although slightly confused, Arthur followed this feeling and walked to the other side of the road.

"This is…" On the ground in front of Arthur is a bracelet made of an unknown gray metal with a small glowing black and white gem covered in water from the rain.

Arthur slowly looked around for anybody nearby, making sure that this wasn't a prank or scam used to frame someone that picked it up.

Seeing that nobody was around, Arthur ruled out the possibility that it was planted.

Wanting to investigate it further, Arthur knelt down and used his free hand to pick up the bracelet.

Just as he picked up the bracelet, before he could examine it, there was a sound of breaking glass and a black hole appeared in front of him.

"Ha**…" Arthur didn't even yell before he was pulled in and disappeared.

The black hole gradually shrunk and disappeared, like it never appeared.

A week later in the news, a photo of Arthur appeared, asking for any news on his whereabouts.

[Where am I? What happened? Was that a crack in space?] Arthur's mind spun quickly, trying to understand what happened as the world turned dark, making it impossible to see anything.

After an unknown amount of time in darkness and uncertainty, Arthur finally saw an opening not too far away from him.

[This is…] Suddenly Arthur felt that something grabbed him and was dragging him towards the opening.

[Am I being pulled into another world?] A mixture of rejoicing and worry developed in Arthur as he looked forward to the glorious life ahead of him or painful death.

Arthur has seen his fair share of anime and understands the concepts of transmigration and reincarnation.

Realizing that he didn't have the power or ability to resist, Arthur was quickly sucked into the hole in space again.

[Wow…] Arthur whispered with wide-eyes, wanting to secure everything he can see and keep this memory forever.

What appeared in Arthur's eyes is a massive field of stars flashing brightly, with what looks like small worlds scattered here and there.

While Arthur was looking at this beautiful scenery, he didn't notice that the bracelet that he picked up off the ground quietly left his hand.

After making it completely through the hole in space, a wave of pressure washed over Arthur.

"…" Arthur opened his mouth to scream in pain, but nothing came out.

Soon the pressure became too much, and Arthur seemed to hear a balloon popping sound as one of his organs burst.

"drip… drip… drip…" Blood leaked from his mouth, dripping onto his white button-up school shirt and black vest.

[Am.. I going to… die?…] Arthur's eyes dimmed as pain overwhelmed him.

"CRACK!" Arthur shuddered in pain as his leg bone couldn't withstand the pressure and cracked.

[NO!] Arthur roared in his mind as a new fire was formed in his soul, recognized as hope.

[That bracelet!… It caused all this! Maybe… it can save me!] Arthur suddenly felt that the bracelet was no longer in his hand, causing him to freak out and force his eyes open.

[Where did it go?!] Arthur grit his teeth and looked around, expecting to find it nearby.

[This is…] Suddenly Arthur felt compelled to look up and forcibly lifted his head and found the bracelet floating above him, emitting a silver gray energy.

"Hiss…" Arthur endured the pain of moving his arm and reached for the bracelet.

[Almost there!] Arthur grit his teeth and finally grabbed the bracelet.

As soon as he touched the bracelet, Arthur was covered in the gray energy while the bracelet broke into two pieces and sunk into his body.

"…" Just as Arthur thought he was saved, he felt an even stronger force in his body forcibly repairing his damaged body while it continued to break under the pressure, creating a painful cycle of break and repair.

[At least… I'm not dead… yet...] Arthur closed his eyes and trembled as immense pain ran through his body.

Arthur didn't know how long it took, maybe a year, maybe an hour, but he felt that the pressure on his body became less as time passed.

This caused Arthur to get excited because he saw hope to escape this hellish cycle.

What Arthur didn't know was that a major change was quietly taking place in his body and soul.

Soon, under Arthur's tight nerves, he felt the pressure on his body dissolve.

[Finally…] Arthur lifted his heavy eyelids and sighed in relief.

Unable to bear it, Arthur fell into a coma, causing his body to drift in a random direction.
