12 Chapter 11: Pit of Junk

" Hmm… you seem quite uneasy Mr. Mon? " Ms. Ging asks me with a worried face.

" Are you perhaps second-guessing yourself? " She asked looking concerned.

Well no... I'm not nervous or second-guessing myself about this at all. Well, maybe a little, but It's not what's making me think as of this moment.

Not about my admission or meeting the dean. It's about my deadline. How am I supposed to go for the artifact within these two days?

No, not even two days. It's within this day. As tomorrow is going to be one hell of a day with all the necessary forms I'd have to fill up. I was not only a late enrollee but also a Wanderer. I'm certain free time won't be something I'll have for the entire day tomorrow.

But I'm stuck with this party, and Ms. Ging seems to have noticed my worries too.

Wait… isn't this the perfect time to go on my own way?

Now that I thought of it, Ms. Ging set up the perfect scenario that would help me escape this group.

" I'm sorry Ms. Ging, but I need to go to the toilet for a bit. " I say urgently, trying to sound as convincing as possible. Being an actor has a lot of benefits huh?

" Oh, I see. Well in that case we'll wait for you here. You should bring someon- "

" Thank you, Ms. Ging " I say, abruptly cutting off Ms. Ging not letting her finish her sentence. Heck, I didn't even let her add another word as I went off on my own way.

I ran very quickly trying to make it look urgent, but also trying to leave their sight.

Haa… Haaa…

I've made it…

Haa… Woo...

Damn, that was too much cardio for me. I've been too relaxed in aerobics these days. Well, Earthly Guardian was at fault for taking most of my time. I know it was unhealthy and bad for your health to change exercise time to reading time, but in this scenario I was put in, it couldn't have been more the best choice I've ever done.

Alright… The Artifact of Imitation…

An artifact that takes the form of a syringe. It allows you to copy a portion of a target by grabbing its blood. It's quite ridiculous when you think of it, but it's very vague. It looks so much like an ordinary syringe, that it's hard to know if what I have is the artifact itself.

More so, I'll be looking for a small syringe in a pit of treasures. It's not going to be an easy task, yet It has to be quick as the excuse I had was going to the bathroom.

The pile was discovered by Sol and Reign when Reign ambushed Sol with multiple students. Sol being well… the main character, he handled them pretty quickly. But it was when Reign who wasn't taking any of it decided to tackle Sol, pushing him into a fountain, causing a trap door to flip having them discover the hidden treasure pile owned by the first Guardians.

That's that but how do I find this fountain?

I might be an avid fan and reader of Earthly Guardian, but it wasn't like the topography of Sense was included in the story. I mean who is in their right mind, will add directions and a proper formation for schools in a story?

Sol turned left and took the second right, in which he finally reached the cafeteria. Sounds like someone trying to add words to his story because he didn't reach his quota or something.

All I know is the treasure pit was under a fountain.

It was the storage of the first Guardians. Though it is a treasure pile, it was mainly used as spare storage for some extra loot they found. It was just some junk shop, for the first Guardians, causing them to forget about it making it a secret and hidden treasure.

And it's also why something as rare as an artifact made it there. Because they thought it was junk due to its insanely normal appearance, making them leave it behind.

So now where is this fountain…

Wait… If I remember correctly. Reign brought Sol to his usual spot, trying to make amends, and become friends or something cliché like that. That was when the incident happened.

Ha…

It seems like I'd have to keep an eye out for an annoying-looking guy other than just a fountain.

This will be easier than I thought it'd be as someone as obnoxious and loud as Reign would be significantly easier to find than a small fountain in a massive school.

With that being said, I decided to sneak backward trying to hide from Ms. Ging and the others, as I headed toward the dorms. I saw Reign there talking with his buddies earlier, so hopefully, they're still there.

" Yo, go to the usual spot. I'll show you some nerds something I bought recently. " A condescending voice enters my ears.

Well, would you look at that? The ticket.

I slowly followed the group as they walk through the massive school. They were walking like thugs laughing and sneering out loud without any care for the environment. They were moving like they owned the place making it easy to follow them, without even being near them at all…

" Look here. " Reign excitingly says with a proud grin on his face.

It might be something interesting as It was something Reign, the heir of a powerful company was showing off. Expensive cars are normal cars for this dude so It was something that had great value I'm sure, but I couldn't care less. All my attention was focused on the fountain just on the opposite side of the bench they were sitting on.

That's it…

The fountain containing my future…

Though those guys are quite annoying as they were in the line of sight with the fountain. I couldn't just hop on the fountain and disappear instantly without garnering their attention.

But fooling them was definitely doable.

" Hello, Mr. Hart. " I approach the laughing Reign with an expressionless look on my face. I also hid my face with my hair so it was hard to identify my entire appearance. I was going for the experienced servant vibe so that I could fool him into following an order that doesn't even exist.

" HUH?! " Reign let out quite an annoying expression, as he seems to have noticed something is wrong. Well, maybe my clothing as I was still wearing the clothes they changed me to when I got treated and I couldn't just switch my vibe to an experienced servant with my entire appearance being that of a citizen.

He isn't as stupid as I thought…

But it's not like my acting experience is all I have in this world. I know a lot about everything meaning I know a lot about Reign.

" Sir Leon Hart is summoning you to his home. " I say with the same expressionless face, knowing full well his demeanor when it comes to his dad.

No one knows the actual first name of his father except for his servants and family. He uses a different alias when he's in public. This was why I used his actual name to prove my fake authenticity.

I'm saving your life here Reign. Would you rather live or die a villainous demise? I was getting anxious about the time, but I couldn't show it on my face. It'll just give away what I was trying to do.

"… " His expression turned around. He was clearly trying to figure out the reason why he was suddenly being summoned.

Was he finally getting praised? Or was he going to be at the other end of another scolding?

"… I'll be back. " Reign says to his friends, causing him and the others to leave the area.

...

Are they gone?

Well, I couldn't see anyone else other than me near this fountain, but I was too nervous to just hop in casually. What if someone sees me walking inside a fountain? My future might turn blurry if a weird rumor appears about me and the fountains. I already had the Wanderer title with me, I can't bear to have more detrimental titles with me. Besides, I can't just let someone see me enter and exit this fountain like nothing just happened.

Shit… If I take too long, people might start appearing, so I should just do it. I can see no one, and it's better to just go for it.

With that being said, I place my foot inside the fountain. I start walking towards the center part of it causing my neck long hair and baggy clothes to become wet, making me look like an absolute weirdo.

I continued walking forward, and sure enough when I was about to hit the middle part of the fountain. A door nudges open causing me to suddenly fall on my face.

FUCK!

Oh…

Damn, that was scary… that felt like walking down something when you are distracted causing you the impression that the fall was a lot deeper than you think…

But anyways… It seems that I've found it.

The treasure junk…

In front of me were multiple golden coins and cash littered everywhere. Jewelry filled the small space under the fountain. There were even some items here and there providing some benefits, but it was all just small and useless compared to this…

" Well... it was relatively easy to find when it's right on my feet. "

The Artifact of Imitation.
