A strange new Saftey

John got up and motioned to them. He headed to the door, opening it, before getting startled by a little girl around 5 years old standing right outside. She stared blankly, eyes shifting from Epsilon to Efiar. After a few seconds, her attention shifted to John. The girl cocked her head to the side before giving John a big smile and tugging on his sleeve. Surprisingly John wasn't able to do anything as she dragged him away.

"Wait little miss, I have to take care of the new recruits"

"You promise to play with me and then ran away"

"It's not like that, it's just dodgeball with knives is a little dangerous, can't we play something else or why don't you play with your brother"

"Traian sucks, he's boring. You're nice and not standoff-ish like all the other workers here"

"Can't you just wait a little while I escort these two"

"How 'bout they join us"

"NO, DEFINITELY NOT"

"Fineeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, but i'm coming"

Epsilon and Efiar were walking behind the girl as she dragged John down the hallway. Epsilon was trying his best to hold back his laughter as the girl and John bickered. The girl didn't let go of John once and eventually John gave up on struggling. As they continued, they passed many people. They were either dressed in all black with a symbol on their clothes and masks on their faces or black suits and pants with masquerade-like masks themed like the flowers in the first room. At most, these people would give them a quick glance before looking away uninterested. They seemed to steer clear of the little girl. By now Epsilon finally made the connection that she was traian's sister.

"Wait, your that weird man's SISTER" he blurted out shocked

"How slow can you be? You need an award for it at this point" Efiar glared

"Well, I guess they both are creepy" Epsilon scrutinized

"Wow, I didn't know that's what you thought of me" A voice from behind suddenly started from behind

"My brother didn't mean that, he was just joking" Efiar said in the attempt to save her brother

"I most certainly did" Epsilon exclaimed shamelessly without a care.

Efiar massaged her temples, annoyed, while epsilon puffed his chest proudly. Traian was no longer wearing a mask and with the bright lighting, they could now see his face more clearly. He had dark brown hair with gray eyes and a rather pale complexion that made him look like a corpse. Quite fitting for his profession. This was most likely because he covers every inch of himself when he leaves the guild. The resemblance between him and his sister were clear now. At this time he was grinning confusedly, not exactly knowing what just happened.

"John, am I weird?"

"Relax, almost everyone who works as an assassin or guild leader is weird, but if you want I can get you someone who can teach you to be normal"

"Even if you did, You're the only who will talk to me, other just run away or start to cry"

"Exactly why I'm being paid so much to stay at this terrible job"

The little girl had run off as soon as Traian came into the picture and was now nowhere to be seen, but it seemed normal seeing how neither John or Traian seemed to care. Efiar took notice getting a little concerned on why she seemed to be so scared of her brother. Traian was complaining to John about how everything in the world seemed to be against him while Efiar was hitting Epsilon over the head and scolding him for being stupid. They continued walking. After a while they exited the building. Outside was much brighter than inside and a lot livelier as well. There were more people in masks walking around and chatting. The area looked like a flower garden and overall had a bright atmosphere. It was far from the environment Epsilon and Efiar were expecting. They stood there stunned for a second before John woke them up.

"I can give you a tour of the place later if you like" he said while smiling "We tend to put a lot of money into managing the appearance of the guild unlike some of the other guilds"

"What's that large building over there?" Epsilon suddenly exclaimed while pointing to a large glass dome. It was quite far from where they were but Epsilon's eyesight was impeccable and could clearly make out the plethora of tropical plants inside the dome. It looked like a rain forest and small animals could be seen rushing around inside.

"Oh, that's the greenhouse. Only elites are allowed in there but I can bring you in as guest later if you like" John explained

"Ooooo, yes please" Epsilon started jumping up and down flapping his wings

Feathers were getting everywhere and Efiar ended up getting smacked in the face by his wing. She tried batting it away but only ended up with another face full of feathers. Epsilon's excited outbreak was ended by Efiar throwing him to the ground for smacking her and everyone around them. Traian laughed as John cursed and struggled to get the feathers from his hair.

"You two seem quite close" Efiar pointed out. The two were very causal with each other and John didn't treat Traian like the other workers did. They all saluted Traian as soon as they saw him and then hurried away. John turned and glared at Traian before giving an explanation.

" We were childhood friends" he responded sighingly

"Aww don't be like that, my mother practically adopted you. We're brothers. Even my family treats you more like family than they do me" Traian said hitting John on the back.

He laughed once more as John slapped the back of his head. It seemed like Traian like laughing at John's misery. John grumbled about how he would never have such a terrible brother as the group continued on there way.

John began to beat up Traian who was exchanging embarrassing stories of John and Epsilon with Efiar as they walked. Surprisingly, John was quite strong, but it was evident that he stood no chance against Traian. Maybe super strength ran in the family.

Epsilon chimed in asking about all the different buildings and structures like a curious little child. He eventually stopped as Efiar threatened to glue his mouth shut for making them stop to explain every five seconds. The group arrived at a large building that looked to be 10 stories tall.

"This is your dorm building. Once You're done settling into your dorm, come to the main hall and I can give you a tour. I'm usually at the front desk" John offered. He led them to the elevator before dismissing himself to continue his paperwork.

"Feel free to choose any of the rooms" John said before departing with Traian who groan from having to go back to work.

The section of the guild they were in was newly built. It was supposed to be dorms for the new recruits from recruiting season, but recruiting doesn't happen until next month so it remained empty. Epsilon and Efiar decided to be roommates. The rule was that you had to have 3 roommates, 4 people total. Epsilon and Efiar were 2 but for now no one was here so there was no need to find someone. Later however they would have to before they were automatically given one randomly. As the twins entered their new home, they started to look around. Each dorm was separated into 4 rooms; 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. There was a small balcony that you could walk out on connected to the living room in the outer dorms. The kitchen was small and only had basic requirements. The living room had a couch and a small coffee table. It was plain and had no other decorations. Each bedroom had 2 beds and 2 small nightstands. There were drawers beneath both the beds that served as storage. a lamp rested on each of the nightstands. A small window rested 3 feet from the floor between the beds in one room. The other had a hanging light to light the room. Efiar and Epsilon chose the room with the window.

The dorm they chose was on the top floor at the very end of the corridor. It was most likely to be more secluded here as it would be a hassle to travel down from the top floor. The only ways down were to wait the long wait for the elevator that all 1000 recruits would most likely be using at the same time or walk down 10 flights of stairs. However, epsilon and Efiar didn't need to worry about this as they could jump off the balcony or out the window and fly down. Flying down would be much faster and would allow them to stretch their wings a little in the morning.

They didn't have much belongings as Traian blew most of them up. John had given them a card with their allowance on it but the two didn't know where to spend it. The two sat down on the beds and emptied their pockets. Efiar had a dagger, hairpin, some crackers and a notepad. Epsilon had, well, nothing. The 2 were broke. Efiar put the dagger back into her pocket and gave the crackers to Epsilon. The hair pin was damaged and mostly broken so she left it on the nightstand and shoved the notepad under her pillow. The two headed out to the balcony to see the view. It was partially cloudy outside and there was a cool wind. The small balcony was just big enough for the 2 of them to sit comfortably.

From the balcony, they could see a large portion of the guild. The style of the guild was more old fashioned. It made the guild seem older than it actually was. From what the 2 had gathered. The guild had a high reputation and ran almost entirely in the underworld. It was large and had a lot of influence. The guild itself doesn't just run off assassinating people. It also has a hand in info gathering, spying, smuggling, stealing, and on some very special occasions kidnapping. The two weren't entirely ok with doing it but they couldn't really say much considering their background. Efiar worried that Epsilon wouldn't be able to adjust to doing such things. Epsilon dreamed of camembert
