1 Unexpected Visit

(2055)

Frigg was looking at the red moon with a worried countenance and Sigrid was watching her in silence. She knew that her niece was an oracle and that she spoke little of her visions.

Sigrid never tired of admiring her niece's exotic beauty. Almond eyes like her mother's and dark, straight hair like her father's. She was beautiful no doubt, but so different from her who had blonde hair and blue eyes.

They both looked at each other curiously when they heard a noise like thunder coming from the high tower of the castle and ran up to it, already imagining a fight, like the many they had faced during those last nineteen years.

The scene was familiar. Two identical boys were staring at each other hostilely. One of them was crouching at the window and turned as soon as the two entered and stared at Sigrid with contempt. His eyes were the color of blood, the only thing that differentiated him from his brother who had silver eyes, both of them, however, only had different eyes when their feelings were altered. Other than at those times, they both had blue eyes and Sigrid never knew who was who....

"Look at this surprise." Said the young man with long, dark-as-night hair who was crouching at the window. "The slut who lies with two men at the same time.... I wonder why I am not surprised that she comes running to protect her baby?"

"She is our mother. She should have more respect." The other said, still unable to be seen, as he was in a shadowy corner of the tower.

Sigrid ignored the insult. Nothing it said made him change his attitude, however, they loved each other and just knowing that was enough.

"Get down from the window Kevin, now!" Sigrid ordered sternly.

He climbed down with a debauched smile and faced Frigg.

"Are you going to tell her cousin or are you going to let her have a surprise?"

Frigg ignored him and turning away was about to leave when Sigrid held her by the arm.

"What is he talking about? What's going on that I don't know about?

"Auntie..." Frigg was about to say, but she stopped and her eyes blinked in various colors and everyone knew that she had gone into oracle mode and that there was no point in saying anything to her in that state because she couldn't hear or see anyone, so Sigrid turned to Kevin.

"Where were you two?"

"We will turn eighteen tomorrow." He said as if that explained everything.

"That's not what I asked. I know it's your anniversary. You haven't let me forget that since you learned to talk. Where have you been?"

"We went to spy on our brides..." Gael said dejectedly.

"I have forbidden you to go near them. You know that none of your parents will like to know that you have disobeyed them."

"Ah mother! If you can have several men at the same time, why do you insist that our brides remain virgins? I am tempted to change that reality. My father won't disapprove of me for it, only Gael's father who goes around putting rules on everything, all the time will think it's bad."

"Kevin, you know very well that you will bear a son on your first ejaculation and that is the son your father wants. Believe me when I say that he will be far more cruel than Gael's father. And stop fighting! You are not human and how are we going to explain to the people around us these thunderstorms on a starry night like this?"

"They know we are gods." Gael dared to speak opening a smile and looking amused at Kevin.

"And they are such idiots that they offer themselves as willing blood bags to me..." Kevin said and moving closer to Gael passed his arm across his shoulders. "I should bite him mom. He needs to taste blood."

"No. He doesn't." Sigrid said and stared at them both suspiciously. "Do your brides already know that they are promised to you?"

"We are playing with them." Gael said opening a smile that Sigrid recognized as the smile he gave every time he did something she wouldn't like.

"They're downstairs waiting for us." Frigg's voice made them all look at her and Sigrid forget what she was going to say.

"They who?" Sigrid asked and the two angels walked past her and Kevin said as they walked out ducking, as he was much taller than his mother, from the tower.

"So Frigg didn't speak?" He said debauched.

Frigg looked at Sigrid as if to apologize and then followed the twins. Sigrid went after them not knowing what she would find.

As they walked into the drawing room, Sigrid felt presences she hadn't felt in years, but she couldn't believe she was right.

Ivor and Arne stood with their arms crossed waiting for them in front of the drawing room door, and Sigrid thought that her life couldn't have gotten any more confusing. They were identical, as much as her own children, and they still looked at her as if she was forced to choose one of them to be her lover.

Frigg knew of Arne's love and didn't care. She said she had an unbreakable bond with him and that an affair would not get in the way of their relationship.

Sigrid didn't contradict her. But she believed that if she ever chose to stay with Arne, he would leave Frigg.

She opened the door, ignoring their gaze as she always did, but she felt her legs go soft as soon as she saw that she was right. In front of her stood Lilith and Astrid. Both beautiful and young, smiling as if they were victorious.

"What a fine mess you have made in my absence, Sister." Astrid said with a half smile.

Frigg supported Sigrid realizing that the surprise was too great.

"Why is she like this, Frigg? Didn't you tell her we were coming for a visit?" Lilith asked wryly.

Sigrid removed Frigg's hand that was supporting her and stared at her as if she had betrayed her.

"Did you know?" she asked, but didn't wait for an answer and turned to Astrid. "You were supposed to be dead. You're not an immortal."

"I wasn't, that's more like it." Lilith replied and sat down. "Aren't you going to serve me anything? I need a cocktail. Where we were was... Hot."

"I think you should look elsewhere for something to drink." Sigrid said with a cold anger in her eyes.

"Is this how you receive your visitors, Sigrid? How you have changed. What would our mother say about that?" Astrid asked amused and sat down next to Lilith. "We have come to meet the heirs and take one of them with us. Which one of the two is Kevin?" she said pointing to the boys behind Frigg and Sigrid and she followed the movement and saw that her sons were normal. Even she herself couldn't tell which one was Kevin.

"They're not taking any of my children." Sigrid said turning to them. "They are following plans.... It amazes me that the angel released you from hell, Lilith. But what bothers me most is that he hasn't told me anything about Astrid."

"Let's just say I'm pretty persuasive when I want to be. As for Astrid, she never died you idiot! If you had bothered to stick around you would have known how young she was again. Frigg knew all the time. You are a coward, Sigrid and you proved it when you refused to watch your family die one by one."

Sigrid looked at Frigg, who took a deep breath and explained.

"I believed it would be useless for you to know the crime Astrid committed.... To stay eternally young she did something abominable. Something no werewolf dares to do and for that she was banished."

"What did she do?"

"I ate my own son." Astrid said coldly.

Sigrid took a step back.

"You... You wouldn't be able to."

"Oh, she was able to." Lilith said smiling, "She is not like you, Sigrid. She is an animal without feelings, and she only didn't eat Frigg because it would bring her the anger of two powerful beings.... She is not a coward like you."

"Then I think they've said it all. It's time for you to leave. To the hole you came from." One of the twins said coldly.

"You must be Kevin. You're as bold as your father. Come with us. The future I have in store for you is much more fun than your father's. I won't force you to be celibate. You can be with as many virgins as you wish. I'll arrange several for you myself. Lilith said insinuatingly.

He laughed.

"And what's the fun of finding everything set up for me? I like the conquest." He replied and Sigrid felt that something was wrong. She knew when one of them was lying, but she didn't interrupt him.

"You like the hunt. Conquest is not the name of it." Lilith said and stood up. "I'm not giving up on you." She said and with a blink of an eye she was holding onto the twin, kissing him passionately. When she pulled away she looked him in the eyes. "I'm going to let you have your first experience, and then show you how much I can be.... Better."

The twin spat on the floor and ran the back of his hand over his lips, still smiling.

"Don't you dare drool your saliva in my mouth ever again. You'd better go away. I know my father won't like seeing you here. And I also know that you don't desire a meeting with him."

"Honey, your father will fall at my feet, and so will you very soon. Do you really think we haven't already made a sight for your brides?"

The other twin who had been silent until now advanced on Lilith and caught her by the neck and lifted her up with one arm. Her eyes were red. Then Sigrid understood. Gael nurtured the idea that he was the angel's son.

"If you have touched a strand of hair on either of them I will kill you!"

Lilith laughed amused.

"Hello, Kevin!"
