Although Hade initially intended to stay awake and confront whomever was going to show up- and he did, for a time at least… the recent affairs of the Class Event had him constantly on edge. 

What happened to Iolana after he lost consciousness? Was she OK?

To blot out the noise, Hade realized the need for a reset… a quick reboot to his system, if you will.

He needed a nap, specifically, one that was not induced or influenced by the soliciting of a devious third party.

Before undertaking the quest for revitalization, Hade entrusted Luctudeus with the all-important task of standing guard while he slept.

Although his trust in the familiar beast was far from absolute, it was definitely on an upward trajectory.

In all truthfulness, the trust itself wasn't necessarily so much earned as it was intuitive.
