2 Changes

Gary walked into his house which was situated in a very pleasant and quite neighborhood, he slammed the door shut before taking off both shoes and walking to the living room where an old man who looked probably in his early 70's, he had a grey short hair which was bald in the middle, his eyes fixed on to the little tv screen.

"Good afternoon grandpa." Gary greeted with a low bow.

"Good? Bad day at work?" His grandpa replied his eyes still fixed on the tv's news.

"Sorry grandpa" Gary said, his head still fixed on to the floor. His grandfather only sighed before returning back to what he was doing before.

"*You don't need to be, you always fail." His grandpa could hear his heavy breathing, he turned to him to see his grandson sweating porously. "*Are you okay?" He asked.

"*Yes. I just need a shower." Gary replied before bolting straight upstairs while his grandpa went back to watching television.

This had been the way for Gary who lost both of his parents in an auto accident, and now lived with his grandpa, a bit of a cruel person according to other's thinking, while to Gary, the old man is seen as a very caring grandfather, even though he still sent him on dangerous missions which were illegal according to the law. To him, this illegal trades his grandfather made him do was for him to be able to pay for college and make some extra cash, but to the old man, this was his own way of making his grandson strong for what the world had for him. It was not like Gary had any choice, he had to do this illegal business to feed for himself, and whenever he fails any mission, no punishment would come forth, maybe this could be the reason behind his thinking of him as a caring father.

Gary came out from the shower, before staring at the mirror situated at the left side of the bathroom, he looked straight at the mirror as the crimson energy started forming on his face, he shrugged his head as the energy died down, it was like he could still hold it before anything damaging could happen, he knew when it was about to burst out since it sends some tiny shockwaves to his system, bringing all of them to a state of alertness, Gary could somehow hear what was being said even from miles away, he couldn't explain how he got this sudden changes to his body since he wasn't in his full state of consciousness during the bout. Gary looked down to the chest region, seeing himself more muscular than before, he looked different unlike his former skinny self, Gary's body had now changed but he still needed to find out something, which was about the energy within him, he could hear something beating, but was sure it was not his heart, something more powerful, his entire blood circulation had changed, and so did the way his brain processed things (now at a faster rate).

The moon shone down upon the quite neighborhood, silent almost as graveyard, what could be heard was the howling from the owls nearby, and also barking of the dogs. Gary got up from bed after he realized that his ears wouldn't stop picking up unknown voices around. He slowly walked down the stairs in order not to waken his grandpa who was asleep already, he crept out of the house, and when he was far from his compound, he had changed his manner of walking, putting on his ear buds on and looking around for anybody at all, but no one was present, all had gone to sleep and the three people who could be awake at this hour, according to his theory were the prostitutes, creepy jerks, and the homeless. He walked past the silent street, heading for the eerie woods and without fear, his red vision had suddenly turned on, and he couldn't stop it this time, but surprisingly, the destructive beam didn't shoot out, only serving as a bright light for him to find his way. His intention was to test out what he now had, reading a lot of comic books would have thought him that he needed to be calm when using his powers. He had already admitted it that the 'red stone' which entered his eyes had given him a gift of a lifetime, he had already imagined the looks of his suit and his superhero name but still needed to do somethings to bring that into reality. He didn't bother pondering about what happened, assuming the situation all to himself. Grey stopped in front of a very tall tree without leaves, he looked back once he heard a growl, to his surprise, nothing was there. Grey walked some steps backwards preparing himself for the exercise. Grey strained his eyes, but nothing happened, he used all his strength but the result was still the same, Grey stomped his foot on the floor, but nothing happened once again.

"Oh dammit!" Grey said stomping his foot on the ground.

The realm of Mistopia was filled with different people walking to and fro, the whole city was coated in silver, the clothes most people wore were either white or gold, and the armors were silver in colors, there were no such things as cars or aircraft since the citizen of this mysterious land rode on huge horse-like beasts, the beast was known as a landrift, in the upper atmosphere where the three moons shone down upon the land were different beasts flying in the air, mostly dragons of different colors and capabilities. The huge gate wall guarded the whole city while leaving the outskirts barren, two men dressed in silvery armor and had the landrifts by their sides stood at the two edges of the tall gate. This were the sentinels, and one of the most fierce warriors the city had. The bells attached to the door of a magic shop dangled indicating that a customer had walked in, the shop attnedant which was a beautiful lady with purple silky hair reaching down to her neck, white skinned and had a diamond shaped head with purple iris, wearing a long sleeved grey cloth and blue jeans, she looked up to see her customer who turned to be Varilence accompanied with a soldier who also had a silver armor on.

"What do you want?" She asked with a tone expressing frustration.

" Relax Maria, The king seeks your help in finding the Optisiar." Varilence replied with a smile.

"And what makes you think i would help." Maria fired back.

"You would for sure, he's your brother by the way." Varilence replied.

"And what if I say I won't" Maria said resting on a silver table where different items such as colored flowers, bowls with some contents inside of it.

"Then you would be mistaking." A voice said from behind as the bells dangled in unison, to behold, Z'aheer.

"What are you doing here you slimy brat?" Maria asked as purple aura started forming on her fist.

"Slow the F down, I'm not here to fight." Z'aheer replied.

"Sure you're not, you know you'll be dead in seconds if you do." Maria said, referring to the guards who patrolled the area.

"The Optisiar is lost in space-time, not just lost, suspended there, many people are trying to beat me to it, but thankfully I have a sister who can help." Z'aheer said.

"Joker, you now know me as your sister?" Maria asked with a little laugh. "Fly away tough guy, I quit finding artifacts a long time ago." She added turning her back at Z'aheer.

"This isn't an artifact, the tribunals seek for these we're talking about, this has the power to end existence, what if it falls into the wrong hands." Z'aheer explained.

"Well you are a wrong hand so..." She flipped a card which flew straight to Zaheer's hands. "...I wont help, that's the address of someone who can." She added, not turning to look at him.

"You really want me to visit Yoshiro?" He asked.

"Don't aske me, ask yourself." She replied before turning to him. "Now leave!"

"I shall get you one day sister." Z'aheer said walking out of the building.

Gary couldn't still summon the energy, he was starting to doubt the authenticity of the situation, he needed the help of his friend Danny. He prepared to leave when his ears picked up a laughter deep in the woods, he could hear three men engaging in a serous conversation, they mostly had crooked voices like that of an old man.

"I saw a kid coming in here, he would be good for dinner and also for tomorrow's breakfast." One of the men said.

"Well then, surround the area, we must not let this meal escape." He heard.

Gary eyes widened knowing who they were.

"The Carnies! Fuck!" Gary shouted a little, minding the pitch of his voice.
