Noah's Arc : Part Seven

A few days later, I was parked outside Robin's apartment complex, waiting for him to come downstairs. Most of the time, he didn't make me wait very long. But on that day, he seemed to have slept in a little, judging by his sleepy yet harried voice on the phone when I called him a few minutes earlier. He was probably tripping over his feet, trying to get his outfit ready as we speak.

My phone began to buzz, and I felt my heart jolt a little when I saw the familiar caller's name. Elijah. My finger lingered over the answer button hesitantly. On any other day, I would have answered it in a heartbeat.

But at that same moment, I saw Robin walk out of the building with his usual boyish smile, his hair shaggier than usual, his outfit even more colourful and mismatched than usual, and his face admittedly... Cuter than usual.

Decisively, I declined the call, typing in a quick text just as Robin opened the door and settled next to me.

'Sorry, I'm driving to school. Talk later.'
