2 TWO: Mosquito

After nearly obliterating the monster's entire body, Steve began walking towards his apartment. The idea of jumping directly from his current location to his apartment crossed his mind, but he quickly dismissed it. He couldn't yet control his strength, and given his current power, there was a high chance he might fly straight into another city.

The path he traversed was challenging, with numerous obstacles due to debris from destroyed houses and buildings scattered across the area, obscuring the barely visible road. However, this posed no real problem for him now that he possessed the strength of Saitama. He walked effortlessly, almost as if he were merely passing through the air amidst the debris.

Giant rocks and debris were either pushed aside by his presence or easily walked through. It was an unbelievable sight, even for Steve. Initially just a wild idea, he decided to act on it because he was now undeniably strong—his body almost indestructible.

As Steve continued walking, in just a second, he emerged from the debris blockage. The view became clear, revealing a landscape marred by the destruction of buildings. Despite being out of the obstruction, the sight remained unpleasant.

Deciding to take a break due to hunger, Steve leaped atop a mountain of destroyed buildings and gazed in the direction of his apartment. Unfortunately, he couldn't spot even a glimpse of it.

"Did I really travel this far?" he exclaimed in shock. Perhaps, he hadn't noticed the speed at which he was flying while lost in contemplation, making the distance seem unbelievably vast.

*Bzzzzzz

He suddenly heard a buzzing noise close to his ear. A mosquito then flew in front of him and decided to land on his face.

*Slap

Steve's palm was now on his face, and when he removed it, his cheeks were smoking hot. His face remained calm, as if it didn't hurt at all.

*Bzzzzzz

In the blink of an eye, all the veins on his head showed up, his eyes wide with red veins all over. Steve wouldn't normally get angry at something simple like this, but it was frustrating when he couldn't see his house, hadn't eaten the rice with meat yet, and now this mosquito showed up and wouldn't be killed.

Steve raised his hand and clenched it into a fist. It was smoking, evident of the force applied. Without any care, he then slammed it onto the mosquito, sending it into the debris mountain. The punch was so strong that the ground began to shake, and a few seconds later, the ground exploded into a giant spiderweb crater. The debris mountain now had a giant hole in it.

"If you're still alive, then I will gladly marry your mother." With his last remark, Steve resumed walking. The dust all over the place didn't particularly bother him; he simply covered his eyes and walked wherever his feet took him. No one here could pose a threat to him, so even with blind spots, he was confident he could beat anyone—such was the benefit of being super strong.

"The strength... I can feel my control over it improve by a lot," Steve said, and a few seconds later, he smiled as a very fun idea suddenly appeared.

Steve started preparing himself by slowly putting his right foot far back, bending down his body, and looking forward with a serious expression. Seconds later, he began running. The force on his right foot made the ground flip up. His running speed was so fast that he estimated it to be faster than lightning.

With some control over his power, he could even change direction. Of course, every turn destroyed his former path due to his strength and speed.

Steve continued running until, a few minutes later, he finally caught a glimpse of his apartment. He gradually slowed down until coming to a halt.

"What the hell did I just do?" he exclaimed, looking outside his apartment room. The ground floor was destroyed, with large debris falling down and impacting the floors below. Thankfully, the rooms were not significantly affected.

"Has Saitama noticed it yet?" Steve glanced at Saitama's door, which remained closed. However, he recalled how carefree Saitama was; he was probably inside, unconcerned.

Steve shook his head before leaping to the top of the apartment. He then grabbed the edge of the roof and kicked his door open.

Not wasting any more time, Steve entered inside. His room was still the same as before, with some furniture fallen on the ground, probably due to the building shaking.

Steve began cleaning his room. The damaged ground floor didn't bother him; he could easily jump down from the top floor without sustaining injuries. Unsure of what Saitama would do, Steve assumed based on his personality that Saitama would likely stay here too.

A few minutes later, as Steve lay on his bed watching movies on TV, he suddenly heard a shout. He looked in the direction of the sound with an apologetic expression before refocusing on the movie.

"Who did this?!" Saitama's shout resonated clearly in Steve's room.

Steve sighed, paused the movie, then stood up and walked toward the door, opening it. He stopped abruptly due to the absence of the floor and looked down at Saitama, who appeared shocked and panicked at the bottom.

Saitama scanned the area, searching for something. Steve, feeling bad, leaped down. As he landed, Saitama's focus shifted to him.

"Steve, the ground was destroyed!"

Steve gazed at the debris on the ground and sighed. "It looks like a monster was rampaging and destroyed this floor. I was watching movies in my room, so I didn't hear it."

He then looked up. "Maybe we can just forget about this? We don't really know which monster did this, so..."

Saitama's face hardened. "Damn monster, I would really beat them once I spot them," he declared, clearly determined.
