1 ONE: Bald Guy Next Door

Steve's eyes quickly opened as he felt heat on his face. The moment he opened his eyes, a blinding light hit him. Unconsciously, he covered his eyes with his hand.

"Who the hell opened the curtains?" he growled and turned away from the window.

Then, as if seeing a ghost, he looked at his bed, which was far away with shock. It was a few meters away from where he was, making it seem like someone had just placed him there. Of course, he knew it was just him being a bad sleeper.

Steve stood up and walked towards his bathroom. It was small but well-equipped, having a perfectly sized bathtub, a toilet, and a sink with a giant mirror, etc.

He walked towards the sink, washed his face, and then took a good look at his appearance. His blond hair was messy from just waking up, but it would be smooth once he washed it. There were also his golden eyes and smooth skin. Anyone would say he looked like a prince, but he had different opinions about it.

"If only I had the power to eliminate anyone by rizzing them. But that damn god or whatever sent me here, clearly not interested in letting me fully enjoy this beautiful face."

It had been a year since he arrived in this world. The transmigation was sudden; he hadn't died or been hit by a truck. Instead, he just woke up here. Steve felt thankful to find himself living next to Saitama, probably the safest place he could be. However, he knew that without any power, his happiness was short-lived.

Reports of monsters spawning around the world had been making headlines, signaling the start of the canon. Steve couldn't do much about it, having arrived here with nothing.

After finishing in the bathroom, he left and sat on the floor in front of the table. On the round table, there was a heater, a loaf of bread, and a mix of coffee in powder form. He turned on the heater, which already had water inside, and waited. While waiting, he also prepared a cup and added the coffee powder.

With that, he grabbed the remote close to him and turned on the TV. As usual, the news was mostly about monsters attacking. He was about to change the channel when suddenly, a glimpse of a violet monster appeared.

Steve couldn't help but gulp and said, "It's starting..."

"BREAKING NEWS!!!

A monster has just appeared in City A and is currently destroying everything. Many A-Rank heroes tried to stop the monster but unfortunately failed.

The Heroes Association declares this monster a Dragon threat level!!!" The reporter announced, seeming to be in a dangerous situation as explosions could be seen around him.

In the next second, he was suddenly dumbfounded.

"Is- is it dead?! For real?" The reporter said, holding his ear and communicating with someone.

"Everyone! Good news, the monster has just been defeated-" The reporter couldn't finish what he was saying as Steve suddenly changed the channel.

He already knew the news, so he didn't bother watching more.

The heater turned off with a thud, and as if the sound triggered a mechanism, a floating screen suddenly appeared in front of him.

There was no surprise or any expression on Steve's face as if he hadn't seen it. But inside, his heart was pounding rapidly, and his whole body was tense. Despite this, he still denied the existence of his system, so he rubbed his eyes.

When he opened them again, it didn't disappear. That's when he unleashed all the excitement and happiness he felt by jumping around the room.

"Holy..." he said, bending his legs, then jumped. "Shit!"

Steve jumped for a few minutes, but he eventually got tired and sat down again. This time, he had a serious look on his face. It was really embarrassing for him when he remembered what he had just done earlier. Thankfully, he was alone in this apartment.

As he sat down, he intensely observed his system.

[Copy System]

Copied Status: 20%

Copied Abilities: NONE

[Manual]

• Copy anyone's abilities/power/skill with a touch.

• Every power you copy will add +1% to the Copied Status.

After reading the manual, choose yes, and the system will be yours.

[Yes] [No]

Steve carefully pushed the "Yes" button, relieved that he didn't accidentally press the "No" button.

[Copy System]

Copied Status: 20%

Copied Abilities: NONE

Now the system was successfully his. It might look simple, but he knew its potential was high. A grin appeared on Steve's face as he thought about the bald guy next door. It seemed that he would become powerful very soon.

But first, he needed to eat breakfast as Saitama seemed to not have arrived yet.

After a few minutes, Steve had finished eating his breakfast and was now resting as he waited for Saitama.

He didn't have to wait too long, as he could hear a loud sound next door, indicating that his only neighbor was finally here. Steve quickly stood up and left the apartment.

Outside, it wasn't something you could call a good view because of the destruction here. Steve could tell that only he and Saitama were the only ones living in this barren city.

After that, he looked towards the apartment next to him where Saitama currently lived. He mustered all his courage and walked towards it.

When he was finally at the door, he couldn't help but feel nervous. In the whole year they had been neighbors, they hadn't talked or interacted with each other. Steve didn't want to take the initiative, and Saitama probably didn't want to bother.

Steve stretched his arm and knocked on the door two times. It didn't take long for someone to open it.

"Hello," Saitama said with a simple smile.

"Hello," Steve also greeted him, and there the atmosphere became really awkward.

They looked at each other's faces for a few seconds before Steve broke the silence. "Hello, I'm your neighbor, and I just wanted to greet you," he said as he extended his hand towards Saitama.

Fortunately, Saitama accepted it. He opened the door and shook his hand, but the atmosphere became awkward again.

"That's all. You can come to my house if you need anything," Steve said with a twitching smile.

"Oh, okay." Saitama then closed the door.

Steve couldn't help but sigh in relief. It was really awkward talking to someone who wasn't interested in anything. But his smile immediately came back when he saw his system again:

[Power: Ultimate Body]

[Copied]

[Status: 20%]

[A/N: Saitama had many powers and abilities, so I just combined them.]

Satisfied, Steve walked towards his room again when he suddenly found himself flying at high speed. With the Ultimate Body, his eyes were also improved by a thousand times, so he knew the reason why.

Earlier, when he stepped on the floor after copying Saitama's power, he noticed that time flowed slower, and he was slowly flying. He had plenty of time to think about why it happened. He came to the conclusion that it was because he couldn't control the power yet.

As he descended, he passed many destroyed buildings and houses, fortunately, not getting hurt a bit. A few seconds later, he finally stopped and crashed into an abandoned mini-market.

Steve stood up, dusted himself off, and looked at the sky. He bent his legs, but he suddenly heard a creepy voice.

"Hohoho. I was wondering why it was so noisy outside, but it was just a food causing a ruckus." It was a monster with an ugly face that looked like it would melt. Additionally, it was wearing a costume of someone that Steve really hated.

"How dare you..." he said with a heavy voice.

"Huh?" The monster seemed confused.

Steve suddenly launched himself towards the monster, outstretching his hand. He then punched the monster, causing it to blow up. The airwave caused by his punch also made a big hole in many buildings that it hit.

"How dare you dress as Santa and not give me a gift again!!!"
