CHAPTER - 7 { City W is under attack }

It's been a week since I came to this world. Most of the time I stayed in my room, only sometimes going out for a stroll in the city with Jake.

Yesterday, an unexpected person came to visit me.

Dr. Bofoi, aka Metal Knight. Currently the S-Class Rank 6 hero in Hero Association just after Atomic Samurai.

He asked about my past, actually Thor's but I straight refused on his face.

What was there to talk about?

Meeting with him, I realized that the present Hero Association was still trying to gather as many heroes as possible.

I wondered when all the S-Class heroes would appear.

In the control room, the atmosphere was tense. Busho took in a sharp breath before opening his mouth.

"Call sir Thor, we need his help."

A worker nodded and rushed out of the room towards the lower floor.

"A-Class Smile Man, A-Class Peach Terry, A-Class Heavy Kong, and 12 C-Class heroes, they all lost. We need to send reinforcement immediately."

"City W has entered an emergency period. This is an emergency evacuation warning. Multiple ant monsters have started attacking City W. All residents of the area, please evacuate immediately."

"Threat level- Demon."

A female staff member grabbed the mic and announced.

"Are there any A-Class heroes near City W?"

Busho asked. The female staff member shook her head in worry.

"No, only C-Class. They won't be able to handle those deadly giant ants."

He held his forehead. They needed more higher rank heroes. If possible, more S-Class as well.

"I brought sir Thor!"

The worker who went out came back running in the control room and shouted at Busho.

"Yes!"

"Sir Thor!"

The workers and staff members felt relief in their hearts as soon as Thor entered the room.

His figure was huge, and he had a presence of holy aura around him that made people want to rely on him.

"Is it a monster?"

He looked towards Busho. The latter nodded and told all the details about the situation of City W.

"Sir Thor, please hurry! City W needs you."

Thor shifted his eyes towards the screen where a giant ant was displayed. It was bigger and more tanky.

"In the meantime we will have more heroes buy time for you till you reach City W."

Busho said in a hurried tone. Thor turned and left the control room.

"Announce that the 4th Rank S-Class hero 'God Thor' is on his way to City W. Have all the heroes fight those ants for now. We need time!"

"Yes!"

After I got my first mission, I grabbed Mjolnir and headed towards the jet prepared for take off.

"Sir Thor."

The pilot said in a respectful voice. I entered the jet and patiently waited until we reached City W.

The distance from City A to City W was slightly far so I couldn't just start jumping or running. I might take a few days to get there.

In the air, I sighed and looked out of the window.

There were a few cities in our path. It didn't take long until the jet neared City W.

"Sir, I am opening the hatch. Please save the city!"

"I will"

I held Mjolnir by my side, and pushed the unlocked hatch. The strong winds entered the jet.

Here I go!

SWOOSH!

This… Is it nostalgia? I was free falling at an extreme velocity.

I could see the city zoom in. Now what should I do? How do I land?

Moving my legs to the front, I adjusted my falling position and aimed to land on a giant ant below on the road.

BOOM!

The giant ant, likely a mutant, was crushed to death by me when I stomped him to the ground.

The road burst into pieces and scattered. More giant ants were alarmed as they darted towards my location.

"What's happening?"

An injured C-Class hero asked. He was against one of those ants which suddenly ignored him and headed to another direction.

"It seems God Thor has arrived!"

Pink Hornet, a B-Class hero, patted her chest and muttered. She had managed to kill one giant ant so far.

They had a super tough exoskeleton, so hard that normal blades broke when slashed and bullets deflected.

Only the tiny gaps between their bodies were pierceable.

"Let's go and see him!"

"We might learn something from his battle."

…

I glanced at the buildings. Giant ants climbed on tops and communicated with their fellows.

'Crush them… Mere ants!'

Since I haven't used Mjolnir for a while, its voices became more serious and full of rage.

"There's a lot though."

I counted in mind and found that the number of giant ants exceeded more than 30. I presumed more would come.

Ants lived in colonies that ranged in size from a few dozen predatory individuals living in small natural cavities to highly organized colonies that may occupy large territories and consist of millions of individuals.

So, I would need to kill many ants today.

SCREECH!

Abruptly, all the giant ants stepped down the buildings and jumped at me.

It would have been scary and traumatizing for me but now I was a god, how could I fear these tiny creatures.

Although they were the same height as me. And much bigger in size.

I struck my left foot on the cracked ground and swung my arms holding Mjolnir into an anticlockwise spin.

Instantly, the ants at the front that jumped first at me got hammered.

Their bodies burst and shattered, all the body fluids and hard parts scattered in the surroundings like the road pieces.

It was easy to kill the first ones but because their number only increased, my figure was covered in their shadows.

"Lightning!"

I roared. The ants that blocked me exploded into bits and cleared the view.

The rest of the giant ants didn't close the space and kept rotating around me. I could tell that there were more ants now.

"I killed only a few. Tsk. If only they weren't smart and rushed to their deaths."

I clicked my tongue and leaped up in the sky. Obviously not too high, just enough to see the surrounding buildings.

All were covered by the ants. It was no problem, I couldn't lose at all.

The thing was time, it would take me hours or even days to kill every single one. And some might escape.

"I should have passed the mission to someone else. Tatsumaki would have been the best choice here."

Unfortunately now was not the moment for regret.

"Just a little damage to the city. They can't blame me for being destructive."

In the air, I raised Mjolnir and closed my eyes. I had to be careful not to accidentally destroy the entire city.

"Haaaah!"

Zii! Zii!

Electric charges ran around Mjolnir as I descended down and slammed the ground heavily.

BOOM!

In a radius of 200 meters, all the buildings, roads and other structures collapsed.

The ground cracked apart and swallowed the giant ants. The electric charges poured out and executed these trapped ants.

Deep frying them. Thankfully it was enough to kill them or else it would have been a fruitless attempt.

'Strong… Something strong is coming…'

"I can feel it too."
