40 Chapter 40 - Epic Gacha!

All For One, not much was known about his whole identity. But he has a quirk that enables him to steal other people's quirks and wields those stolen quirks as his own. This alone, alongside his demon-lord-like nature, has successfully made him Japan's most powerful villain and All Might's arch-nemesis.

Not only that, All For One can also redistribute his stolen quirks to other people, which makes him retain many loyal followers. And with the fact that him stealing someone's quirk can leave them quirkless, almost nobody dares to antagonize him.

There were also those strange rumours that depict what it would feel like when someone loses their quirk. It's just like the feeling of emptiness. The feeling that something is missing. For to be stripped of one's quirk is to be stripped of one's... ambition.

But presently, the all-mighty All For One is the one who's in a desperate situation. Not caused by his long-time enemy, All Might, but by a random brat titled Vigilant Yaksha, who got lucky by being born with a really powerful quirk. At least that's what he thinks, which was why he decided to eliminate her right now when she was still young. It's so that she wouldn't grow into a much more problematic element that could interfere with his plan in the future.

But he realized that he wouldn't be able to do so with his current capability. The evidence is what happened in the earlier fight. It was completely one-sided. No, even that wasn't enough to describe it. By the time he realized it, he had already lost.

Moreover, losing against a young brat would be really shameful to someone like him. Especially if his greatest adversary, All Might, were to learn about this matter. That's why he'll do anything to defeat her, even if it's doing something that's filled with many uncertain risks.

A loud monster screech reverberated in the area. As if its meaning was to forward a death sentence toward someone it hated.

Everyone else in the building but Mai was perplexed.

"Wh- What is that?!" Inquired a random bystander.

"It's huge!" Asserted a villain named Lenny. That's what she said after she saw the big... and massive... All For One's size.

"KYAAAA!!!" Whatever that is, it made chaos issued inside the USJ building, which is now filled with numerous screams. The people were running away as far as they could from the monstrosity that is the current All For One.

"All... All For One turned into that?! Can Vigilant Yaksha still beat him?" Mumbled Midoriya Izuku. He can feel the powerful energy radiating from All For One even from a far distance. The pressure alone made both of his legs tremble out of fear. But he could still hold on, unlike Mineta, who he was currently carrying, who had already peed on his pants and fainted.

One of the villains near the entrance tried to run out of the USJ building through the main door, but he soon found out that he couldn't leave even after he pulled open the door. Some sort of invisible barrier has blocked him from stepping outside. Others who experienced the same as him tried to break the walls and windows, but this time, they couldn't do it as if they were an invisible shield protecting the border. They were now forced to witness the fight that was about to ensue.

Mai seems to notice this phenomenon even from far away, but her main focus is still on the transformed All For One, which now has a height of around 50 meters. His bloodshot-looking eyes seem to be locked into her and her only.

'Ai-chan, what had All For One become into?' Asked Mai toward the system as she readied herself and moved to what she believed to be an advantageous position, getting prepared for another round of confrontation.

[H- Host, He... had turned into a Nomu!]

'What? Really?!' Mai then checked All For One's current appearance one more time. 'Hmmm, make sense...'

As she kept moving around the battlefield, All For One's head turned until it had become 180 degrees from its starting position. His bloodshot eyes glared at Mai, who had already situated herself right behind his figure.

Suddenly, All For One leapt up as the rest of his body spun 180 degrees while he was still in mid-air.

*BOOM!*

When he landed, the ground cracked, resulting in many fissures. The onlookers of the fight gulped hard when they witnessed that. They still felt frightened even when they were far away from the battlefield. Still, Mai had no time to care about them because All For One immediately leapt toward her right after he landed.

He's so unbelievably fast that by the time they realize it, others in the USJ building only saw one of his legs suddenly comes up right in front of Mai's face and hit her mask. It appeared to easily tear through her body and smash the ground.

*Boom!*

"GRRRR!!!!"

But it turns out that what All For One had struck was merely her after-image. The real Mai already appears right under his colossal body, right among his legs. She pulls out a single throwing knife from her inventory space and tosses it upward toward what seems to be All For One's lower belly.

*Swoosh!*

Half of the knife blade went inside. However, it was driven out immediately after and fell to the ground. Mai noticed that the wound caused by the knife was quickly restored. She had no choice but to bring the knife back to her inventory space and back away from under All For One before he slammed his whole body to the ground.

*Boom!*

Dust spreads everywhere from the area of impact.

Before Mai could even finish her thought, a half-transparent screen appeared in front of her. Just by seeing the long, long, long ability description, she knows she's going to have a bad time.

[Also, Host, the USJ building has been sealed from the outside. The seal won't lift up until it's hit by force great enough to break it or until All For One is defeated! One of his many quirks is called Domain Territory! When set in a specific area, all living beings can get inside, but they wouldn't be able to go outside! He had used it on the entire USJ building right before he completely turned into Nomu Emperor when he still had his sane mind!]

'Thanks for the info, Ai-chan~!' Mai replied to the system and thought to herself, 'Poor spectators, they couldn't get out. But unfortunately for All For One, I'm not the one who's stuck with him! He's the one who's stuck with me!' She dodges the incoming leg that flashes in her direction as she thought of that. She then prepared to assail on the so-called Nomu Emperor once more, but she'll try using magic this time.

"Water." Mai swirls her arms randomly as a massive puddle of water appears out of thin air around her. She edged at All For One. The water started twisting like a snake before suddenly gushing out with incredibly high velocity toward the towering figure.

"Earth." She then stomped the ground with no point in doing it whatsoever, and countless giant earth spikes emerged from the ground, assaulting All For One from his surroundings.

"Fire." Right after that, she pointed her index finger upward just to act cool as she created a massive ball of fire with the size of one story house on top of her before she hurled it forward.

"Air..." Lastly, she chopped the air with her hands multiple times as numerous massive wind blades were materialized and rapidly headed toward her foe.

The battle rages on... and on... and on... and continues!

*Around 5 minutes later...*

Yeah, it has been like... 5 minutes since then, and Mai had been barraging All For One with different kinds of elemental attacks while dodging his onslaughts. But it seems that she did almost no harm to him. It's not that All For One's skin are too durable, but his regenerative power was just too extreme. By the time Mai landed her next attack, the injury from the previous one would have already been healed.

But it's Mai we're talking about here. Who is Mai, you asked? She's... She's... Who is she supposed to be again? Anyway, the point is that Mai sees the current All For One as a challenge she needs to overcome, as a puzzle that she needs to solve, and as a wall that she needs to climb over. She's totally not a lazy person who would quickly give up when she's in a predicament.

'Ah, that one daily mission! Have I already finished it? I think I'm too focused on the fight before!' Mai started to rack her brain.

Mai heard a series of notifications. A small holographic screen also appeared at the top left of her vision so she could still have a clear view of All For One.

But All For One is not done yet with his aggression. He moved his gigantic humanoid arms and clapped at Mai's location as if she was a flying mosquito. But the attack once again missed its target. Mai was just too quick. Especially when she has free movement in the air, it would be harder to hit her now.

When Mai arrives next to All For One's cheek, he quickly strikes her with one of his palms.

*BAM!*

"ROAR!!!" And what he had done only resulted in him smacking himself. If it were a certain video game, a panel would appear and state that All For One had hurt himself in his confusion.

'Now that's what I called face-slapping!' Mai thought to herself as she landed on All For One's bald head.

[Way to go, Host~!]

'Fufufu~! Thank you, thank you! It's no big deal!' Mai boasted a little, but she quickly came to her sense thinking of her priorities. 'Okay, Ai-chan, it's time to roll the gacha~!' She cheered on as she was mentally prepared.

[A- Affirmative!]

Her heart was beating hard as she waited for the result, until the sound of doom was finally heard.

*Ding!*

'Let see~ Let see~'. The outcome is out almost in an instant because Mai had set the system to skip the gacha animation. And the result is...
