39 Chapter 39 - Reject Humanity!

It was lucky for Toshinori Yagi or also skinny All Might, that he saw a glimpse of his best friend, detective Naomasa Tsukauchi, walking nearby. Of course, because they were best friends, he called him out and shamelessly asked the guy to lend him some money to pay for the taxi.

"U-Ummm... There!" All Might pointed at a blue-haired little girl, who appeared to be searching for something in a small city park, with no sign of a guardian nearby.

Detective Naomasa nodded his head.

The two grown-up middle-aged men thus stride together towards the lone and defenseless loli.

When they both got near, All Might greeted the girl. "Hi there, little one!"

The blue-haired loli heard an old man's voice from behind. She took a look back and saw All Might's skinny form for just a moment before she had a frightened expression on her face and immediately ran towards a nearby tree. She then discreetly glanced at them from the opposite side of the tree. Her tiny head is the only thing that can be seen by them.

Seeing her reaction, even detective Naomasa, who's usually very professional at doing his job, couldn't help but cackle. "Hahaha! Look! She's scared of you! Hahahaha!"

"Don't laugh!" All Might knows that he's not in his buffed form right now, so she wouldn't be able to recognize him as the number one hero. Or rather, his skinny form just seems kinda sus.

"*Ahem!* You can come out little one. I'm not a bad uncle, you know. I promise." All Might tried to appeal toward the girl once more. But she just rapidly shakes her head while she kept on obscuring herself behind the tree.

"Ummm... Then, what if I give you candy? Do you want som- Ugyaa!!!" All Might tried to pull out something from his pocket, but before he could accomplish that, he got a vertical karate chop straight to the skull from detective Naomasa.

"Stop that! If some other police officers saw what you were doing, you would've no choice but to be arrested!" Alerted detective Naomasa. Even now, nearby pedestrians were glancing at them warily while whispering with one another. Someone even pulls out his phone and is prepared to call the FBI if he notices that things have gone wrong. The only reason he hasn't done that yet is because of the appearance of a police-looking officer near the suspicious skinny uncle.

Thus, after detective Naomasa reprimanded All Might, he shortly walked closer toward the hiding little girl, before he declared with a gentle smile, "Hello there, I'm a police officer. If you don't believe me, then take a look at my uniform, as you still don't understand badges and stuff. Also, you seem to be troubled by something. Could you answer some of our questions so we can help you out? That's all we need."

The little girl thus takes a good look at him. She does recognize his uniform from some odd portraits that Overhaul has shown to her. It really does resemble a police uniform. She then saw a gun hanging on his belt. Her eyes sparkled as she left the tree and came near the police-looking man.

As for the gun, no, she didn't feel scared at all when she saw it. Actually, she had one herself, hiddenly strapped below her skirt.

It was given to her by Overhaul on one of her birthdays. He said that she can use it on horny people or kidnappers. In fact, she almost did that just now. It was fortunate that she had held herself back.

Seeing the child's desire to cooperate with them, the detective felt glad. But just when Naomasa wants to inquire about her problems, All Might already beat him up to it. "So, what are you doing in the park alone little one? You seem to be scouring for something... or maybe someone? Anyway, could you tell us abo-"

All Might then realized that the blue-haired little girl was not on his front anymore. She was hiding behind detective Naomasa's legs, peeping at him with an uneasy look.

"Pfffttt!!!" Naomasa tried his best to control his chuckle. But of course, it was epically failed. "Gahaha! All right little girl, could you answer that uncle's question? I felt sorry for him." He told the girl as he looked downward, face to face with her.

The girl thought for a little before she nodded. Both adults thus focused themselves on hearing her story. All Might could only overlook what just happened a few moments ago.

Her eyes teared up a little bit before she told her story. "My... My name is Eri. It's Mai big sister. She had gone from her bedroom this morning and nobody in the house knew where she was. Even after our housekeepers searched for hours from dawn, they still haven't found her yet. So I decided to look for her outside."

"Huh? Then, did your family learn about what you're doing here?" Detective Naomasa raised a question.

"N-No, I went out using an emergency passage that only the main family knows..." Feeling a bit of shame for not telling anybody, Eri admitted truthfully. Thinking about it again, she felt that she had just done a bad thing.

'Huh? Emergency passage? Main family? Is she some sort of a rich noble young lady?' Both of the old men thought to themself. But they soon reckon that issue wasn't the most important thing right now because from what she said, a person had gone missing.

"Can you please tell us what her characteristics are?" Detective Naomasa asked seriously as he pulls out a note and a pen. He had more experience than All Might in this kind of work.

"She... She has long black hair and a beautiful face." Eri tried her best to describe Mai.

"...That it?" Detective Naomasa inquired with a bit of dejection.

"Umm... Um... She's also a nice person!" Eri was thinking for a while before she then innocently came out with something.

Both All Might and Naomasa just facepalmed. They realized that they shouldn't expect something as detailed as someone else's detailed appearance from a mere child.

"Then, could you tell us your sister's full name?" Detective Naomasa changes his approach, while All Might just nod sagely in the background.

"She's Mai Friend," Eri told honestly.

"Ummm... Young lady, we're asking for her name, didn't you just said that the girl who went missing is your big sister?" Detective Naomasa asked for confirmation.

"Yes, and Mai Friend is Mai big sister," Eri answered with a certain tone.

"So, your friend is your big sister?" Detective Naomasa implored again.

"No, as I said, Mai Friend is Mai big sister!" Eri replied, feeling a bit irritated.

"..." Detective Naomasa didn't know what to say anymore.

"..." Seeing that the police-looking uncle was silent, Eri just follows what he's doing.

"...Then, who's your big sister?" But then All Might step in unexpectedly, hoping for a different kind of answer.

"Mai big sister... is Mai Friend!"

"..."

*CONFUSED SCREAMING!!!*

Back inside the USJ building. At the center of the plaza, a masked girl is currently sitting on top of a sprawled All For One who's currently always swearing non-stop.

"CURSES! CURSES! CURSES! YOU... INSOLENT FOOL! IMBECILES!"

So, who is the mysterious masked girl?

It's Mai, of course! Who else could it possibly be?

Huh? Then what about the super-duper exciting fight with All For One?

Nope. The fight was easily won by Mai just with her using her power to manipulate subconsciousness. She beat the crap out of All For One without him being able to detect her for the whole duration. No, it was more like he forgot who's the person he's fighting with, the reason he want to fight that person, and all other things that are related to 'Vigilant Yaksha''. The capability of Mai's subconscious ability is way too scary if being used with full power.

Because at that time, almost all of All For One's mind was filled with Vigilant Yaksha's related stuff. So, when they were all suddenly gone because of Mai's subconscious ability, All For One's mind became blank and he just stood in place doing nothing for half a minute. And that half a minute was more than enough for Mai to immobilize him.

By the time he became conscious again, All For One realized that he has already sprawled on the ground with his body filled with even more injuries than what he had gotten from All Might in the past. It must be said that he's a really strong individual for him to come to his senses with his own willpower and not by Mai deactivating her ability.

It's a shame in which All for One couldn't move his body anymore even after he had accomplished that. If he were to use all of his sensory and mind-protecting quirks from the very start, he might've been able to fight back against Mai's subconscious manipulation ability. But alas, Mai's ability strike first without him being able to prepare anything.

As for why she just steamrolled the fight. Well, she has been really curious about the extra stage for days now. Even at the battle against Shigaraki, Nomu, and Kurogiri earlier, she wanted to finish them early. But then it turned out that Nomu could perceive her even when she's shrouded in her subconscious ability. So at that time, Mai concluded that she might as well use him as a training partner.

Thus, when All for One appeared, his fate has been set in stone when he couldn't discern Mai's presence with her subconscious ability up. And that brings them to the situation right now.

'Is this really a lunatic difficulty? Even though he's also LVL 99, I still didn't feel like it.' Mai sent her thoughts toward the system.

[Y-Yes, the difficulty was set on lunatic. At least according to this world! The reason for him being weak is because of the mortal injuries that he had gotten from his past fight with All Might!]

Hearing that, Mai wondered how it was possible for All Might whose capped at LVL 80, can even contend against All for One. But then she remembered that All Might has some sort of plot armor skill as one of his abilities. Yep, probably that.

'Is that so... hmmm... Then, Ai-chan, do I just have to make him faint to complete the mission?' Mai inquired again now that her curiosity has been satisfied.

"Alright then..." Mai hence lifted her right arm, preparing for a quick chop toward All for One's rear neck. She didn't feel any excitement at all, beating the so-called biggest villain of My Hero Academia.

And yet...

Just before the strike could reach All for One, an extremely powerful wind pressure suddenly materialized with All For One himself as the core, blowing the unprepared Mai away for dozens of meters away.

'What the-' Mai was stunned, but only for an instant. She then quickly manages herself to settle on the ground.

[Host, look!]

As she landed, she take a glance at All For One whose body is currently emitting a bright golden light. From there, a voice can be heard.

"How can this be! There's no way I can ever lose to someone who didn't even inherit One For All! This humiliation... I'LL KILL YOU!!! I REJECT MY HUMANITY!!! VIGILANT YAKSHA!!!!!" Screamed All For One. No one saw it, but he had secretly injected himself with some sort of serum just a moment ago.

From the golden silhouette, his body could be seen to be transforming as it also getting larger and larger. When the light fades out, his full figure can now be discerned by everyone inside the USJ building even if they're on the edge near the border because of how big it was. They want to unsee it, but unfortunately, they can no longer do that.

*GRRRR!!!*

From his physical appearance, it's pretty clear that he's no longer can be called human. Other than the size difference, his skin also shifted color to light bluish. 5 eyes were sprouted on his face which was previously made up entirely out of scar tissue with nothing but a mouth. His head is still bald while his belly became bloated. Not only that, but the lower part of his body also shifted into three pairs of crab legs. To put it simply, his current appearance is like a cross between a spider and a crab.

Seeing the bizarre Arachne-looking monster that All For One has turned into, Mai was completely speechless on the inside.

"...Nai waa....."
