Chapter 30 - Artificial Sharingan!

It's a bea- It's a wonderful day outside. Currently, Mai was on the route toward her new friend's residence. She's not in a rush, so she just strolled there at a snail-like pace, while simply taking pleasure in the breath of fresh O2.

Buildings were everywhere, and many pedestrians were walking on the side road. Yet, not even a single person took notice of Mai's presence, because they can't, when her power of the unconscious is still being activated. Naturally, she was required to expend some of her mana to keep it maintained. But fortunately, it didn't cost her much.

In her present condition, she could pretty much snatch every item around her, put them in her inventory space, and nobody would catch sight of it. There were many things that she could seize, such as that cotton candy on her right, takoyaki on her left, and those crepes on the stall that's just a few steps away from her. Wait, why were they all food?

Regardless, Mai won't do that kind of stuff. She knew that these people work their ass off to earn money from selling those meals. Also, she's not a poor girl. She could just buy them directly, like normal human society.

Honestly, Mai hasn't had her breakfast yet for today. However, she didn't feel any hunger at all. No, it would be adequate to say that she hasn't felt that sensation for years now. In the past, she grew curious. So she suffered herself by attempting to not eat anything for one day and she still didn't felt starved.

It looks like she's not perfectly human anymore. Heck, even her status wasn't sure of what her race was supposed to be. As for Mai herself, she didn't care as long as she's cute.

'Ehe~'

While Mai continued on her leisure walk, she suddenly heeds her attention to a commotion in the distance. It's quite far away, but she could nonetheless see what took place there. That's the reason why she didn't need to fasten her pace. 'Well, it's on my way anyway. I might as well check what happened.' That's what she reckoned in her head.

Nevertheless, from what she'd seen from afar, a villain is currently mugging a store owner in broad daylight.

*Sigh* 'Why do people these days were so stupid? Are they really that desperate with money?' Thought the one who didn't even work hard to earn her wealth.

Mai could glimpse the villain, pointing his right hand, which appeared to be a mini canon, probably his quirk, straight toward the shop owner's head. The victim seems to be threatened to hand over his cash. There were crowds around, even when it's not that dense. Still, they just gathered in a circle to watch the event transpired, no one seemed bothered to help.

When Mai finally got close to the area, she could listen to the people in the mobs, enthusiastically having conversations about the names of heroes that have a likelihood to arrive and save the victim.

'Poor man...' Even when Mai thought of that, she still decided to walk away to go on with her journey. What ensued over there was not her business.

[Host, I think you're wrong. It was the villain who's in danger!]

However, before Mai could completely face in the other direction, she halted midway as she listened to what the system had just announced. 'Huh? Ai-chan, what do you mea-'

She then catches that the shop owner unexpectedly pulls out a shotgun from behind his desk, and without giving out any warning, he pulled the trigger. The villain didn't have any time to react before he got obliterated.

"KYAAA!!!"

"Oh, my, Lord!!!"

"RUNNN!!!"

The previous observers, all promptly ran away, screaming from the scene. They became very frightened just because something ludicrous in today's society, such as murder, happened before them. Even a hero can't slay a villain when the law exists.

Mai simply jumped onto a nearby building to avoid being crashed into others. Her mind was still bothered by what had just occurred. No, not the plot twist, but, 'Those bullets... They have a pattern! That villain could've dodged them if he had trained his eyesight! What a pity...'

Yeah, a pity indeed that there are no Touhou games in this world. People who lived here were just having an unfavorable fate. They're missing out big time. Especially in the combat aspect, for this is a world where there are heroes who fight villains on a daily basis.

The vision of people who played Touhou could be likened to an Uchiha who awakened sharingan. While people in the Uchiha clan need to experience a powerful emotional emotion to unlock a new tomoe, Touhou players only need to master the game better to pretty much gain the same thing.

When they were concentrated, Touhou players could enhance their perception and increased their reaction time to an exceedingly high degree, making it as if the world slowed down before them. That's how a godlike Touhou player could predict all the bullets' direction even when their PC screen was literally filled by them.

As for Mai's level of eyesight...

It's a secret.

Anyway, Mai then saw a man with an unusual costume came into the area and after checking the situation in hand, arrest both the shop owner and the villain. Just as she started to wander on something, the system answered her curiosity.

[Host, the villain is not dead yet!]

'Owh, just like what I thought!' Replied Mai telepathically. She had long speculated that people with a quirk in the MHA world have an absurd amount of HP. She always thought when she watched the anime, the scenes such as All for One surviving All Might's strongest attack, or Overhaul still alive after getting punch by Deku's full cowl and fell from hundreds of meters from the sky, were all just some BS plot armor. That was until she came to the world itself, and realizing that they just had a very high HP. Probably because of their race as a Mutated Human.

Anyway, since there's nothing else to watch, Mai thus proceeds with her trip toward Eri's house by hopping from buildings to buildings like a ninja. She didn't need to check on Overhaul's business card anymore as she already memorized all of its content.

But on her way, Mai was again, thinking about her Ascension Quest. Fighting against All for One is not the main issue here, but the problem is finding his location. Even the heroes couldn't accomplish that. Well, probably because they're just horrible at doing their job.

Anyway, there are currently two paths that she could decide on. Patiently search for him herself, or-

-bait him out.

[Host, because you're lazy, the choice is already obvious!]

'Ai-chan~, that's hurt! I felt really sad now!' Retorted Mai, being as miserable as she could.

[H-Host, I'm... I'm so sorry!]

'Bah! So easy~! Sometimes, I doubt you could read my mind, Ai-chan.' Mai let out without worrying about the system's own feelings.

[...Should I be angry now?]

'...'

Nonetheless, Mai still needs a certain somebody to act as a lure to All for One. And that'll only mean one thing.

"USD incident, here I come..." Mai uttered with joy. She tried to, at least. Even the name of the incident was wrong.

Chiyo Shuzenji is the real name of the hero known as Recovery Girl. She's already reaching her rusty age, but that's didn't mean she couldn't fell in love with another individual.

It was back then that she met Shota Aizawa, a young man who said he didn't want to be a hero teacher but become one anyway. She had an interest in him at first sight as his looks resembled that of her former husband. However, that alone wasn't enough to make an experienced lady such as herself fall in love. It was his actions that did it.

Saving a cat from rain by giving it an umbrella, helping a grandma cross the road, wait that's her. And finally, expelling some children from the hero school because he cared about their well-being (Or you could say, they all sucked).

That's all it takes to makes her fall hard for him. But she was a shy girl, so she never initiates a conversation with him. Not only that, he seems to always cope with his wound by himself, and not using the school's medical facility.

Today was the first time he came to her office, with an injured hand. She couldn't keep her feelings anymore. That's why she utilized her quirk by kissing him in the mouth, not in the usual spot, and then runs away right after. Again, she was a shy girl, so that was normal.

Ahhh. She wondered... When would he visit her again?

Ohhh. He would, in the future, with a far worse injury than what he just obtained.
