Chapter 38 Literary Night

　　Carina's POV -

　　Everything soon went back to normal. The maintenance man had fixed the elevator problem, Damian had gotten his coat, the power had been restored, and here we are, watching how the event is playing out.

　　"I welcome on stage, Vincent Gus."

　　Everyone was clapping as he came on stage. Vincent never told me he was performing tonight.

　　"Looks like he wrote something beautiful for you," Philip teased.

　　"Dad, what if it's something else?" I asked.

　　"Trust me, it's a love poem."

　　Vincent began to read, "I felt butterflies in my stomach when I tasted your lips,"

　　"Carina, tell me the truth, is there something going on with you and him?" Philip asked.

　　"I kissed him, and that's it. It was just a kiss."

　　"Why did you lie to me, you said he was just a friend."

　　"I didn't lie to you. Nothing is going on, we're not dating."

　　Vincent kept reading, "You planted a tattoo on my lips before watering it with your kiss, now I can't get you out of my mouth."
