56 Lucy Fer [Pt 1]

I lay on the ground, my body frozen and unresponsive. Paralyzed. Helpless. My mind raced with fear and confusion as Lucy Fer's laughter echoed in the room. 

She had introduced herself just moments ago, a seemingly innocent encounter that had taken a sinister turn.

'Lucy... Fer?!' There was no way I could forget that name. 

When I first saw it, I found it strange, but there was another reason why it struck me. It belonged to the third highest-ranked person on the Leaderboard. Lucy Fer was undoubtedly superior to me!

"You're quite the interesting guy, Sleepyhead," she said, her voice tinged with amusement. "You didn't let me down by surviving the poisoning. I must admit, I had my doubts."

I tried to respond, to ask her what she meant by doubts and disappointments, but my lips refused to move, my voice trapped within me.
